Last night, TOP 8 finalists tried to do their best singing with a live orchestra. I think Sofabet correctly concluded that TPTB did everything they could to get Abi Alton in the bottom 2 tonight. Sam Callahan was dire singing-wise, but good performance-wise and he also had the pimp spot. Gary’s refusal to give him a proper critique might motivate his fans. Watching back the recap, I think Baby Buble Nicholas McDonald gave a performance that just didn’t stand out. I expect him to be safe tonight, however. Luke Friend received some justified criticism from Gary for his rendition of “Moondance”. Sam Bailey will definitely be safe tonight no matter what. My personal favorite performances last night were from Rough Copy and Tamera Foster.

Sam Bailey impersonator Celine Dion and Gary Barlow’s Take That bandmate Robbie Williams perform tonight.

Cold open again. Followed by a long intro. Peter Dickson introduces Dermot O’Leary. X Factor judges are next.

TOP 8 sing John Newman’s “Love Me Again”.

Recap: The story of last night.

Celine Dion sings “Loved Me Back To Life“. The song is the lead single from Celine’s new album with the same title.
She is nearly as good as Sam Bailey. Well, at least she looks better than her. [/sarcasm]

5 minute warning!

Commercial break.

Lines are now closed!

Louis: Nailed: Sam B, Rough Copy, Nicholas MdDonald
Sharon: Sam B, Rough Copy
Gary: Sam B, Tamera, Rough Copy
Nicole: Sam B, Rough Copy

Gary Barlow’s Take That bandmate Robbie Williams sings “Go Gentle“. The song is the lead single from Robbie’s second swing album, due out later this month. Robbie sings on a big ship. The song is dedicated to Robbie’s daughter Theodora. No lap dance for Louis Walsh tonight.

Results after a break.

Safe:
Rough Copy
Luke Friend
Sam Bailey
Tamera Foster
Sam Callahan
Nicholas McDonald

Bottom 2:
Abi Alton
Hannah Barrett

Abi Alton sings Ed Sheeran’s “Lego House”. Slowed down. Oh My. I’m dying.

Hannah Barrett sings Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball”.

Nicole refuses to vote.
Gary sends home Abi Alton.
Sharon sends home Abi Alton.

Abi Alton is going home tonight.

Louis would have sent Abi home, too.

Hallelujah!

Next week:
Theme: The Great British Songbook
Guests: Gary Barlow, Miley Cyrus

‘I would never change it!’ An emotional Abi Alton is voted off The X Factor following dramatic sing-off with Hannah Barrett
It was a night of mixed results for the current crop of X Factor hopefuls on Big Band Night – and the drama continued on Sunday evening’s results show when show favourites Hannah Barrett and Abi Alton faced each other in the sing off.

Abi was first up with a piano led version of Ed Sheeran hit Lego House, turning in what appeared to be her finest performance of the series.

The supermarket worker received a rapturous round of applause that prompted her to burst into tears as she exited the stage, where she was given a warm embrace from the waiting Hannah.

All aboard the good ship Williams! Robbie plays captain for the night while Celine Dion takes the stage in a stunning LBD on The X Factor
Sunday night’s X Factor kicked off with host Dermot O’Leary promising a ‘belter of a show,’ and with performances from Celine Dion and X Factor regular Robbie Williams preceding the result it didn’t disappoint.

Indeed, on a night of high drama for the eight remaining acts it was French-Canadian songstress Celine who would perform first.

The 45-year-old looked stunning in a highly distinctive outfit that was all the more engaging thanks to its sharply defined angles.

Nicole Scherzinger flashes cleavage AND thigh in a double split gown slashed to the hip… as Sharon Osbourne stuns in sequins on The X Factor
She was breaking the golden sartorial rule of flashing both cleavage and leg.

But Nicole Scherzinger proved that she could pull off going against the fashion grain as she took to The X Factor stage on Sunday night.

The 35-year-old singer ensured she put her showstopping figure on display in all its glory as she flashed a generous amount of both thigh and bust in an eye-wateringly daring double-split gown by Kristian Aadnevik.
