If the songwriter’s name sounds familiar, it should. She’s kind of a ringer! According to her Wikipedia page, Katelyn is an American actress and singer known for her recurring roles as Jo Taylor on the Nickelodeon series Big Time Rush, Natalie on the ABC series No Ordinary Family, and Mercedes on ABC Family The Secret Life of the American Teenager. She was also a contestant on the short-lived American Idol offshoot American Juniors in 2003. She’s already released a couple of albums and a bunch of singles. Check out her Youtube channel.

The winning song will become the newest Jeep brand commercial jingle. The 90-second Jeep brand commercial featuring Old Dominion performing the winning song will premiere at end of the episode.

In the clip below, the panel is impressed by Kately’s “simple, beautiful statement.” Believing the song could use “more information” Ryan and Ester work on adding lyrics. The group is a little worried that the verses are too “feminine.” But the panel is confident a few tweaks will do the trick. Ryan thinks the song would make a great Jeep commercial, because it captures “adventure, youth and freedom…it checks a lot of those boxes.”
