So You Think You Can Dance premieres tonight on FOX at 8PM ET/PT. The one hour kickoff features auditions in Beverly Hills. Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, Vanessa Hudgens and guest tWitch sit a the judges table.
Here are a couple of tidbits regarding the upcoming season
- There is NO choreography round this year. It’s either a ticket to the Academy or elimination.
- Season 2 winner Benji Schwimmer will be auditioning with his partner Nicole Clonch. She’s not featured on the premiere, but watch out for them both! Click this link for more about their partnership.
- There will be a Top 20 and then ultimately a Top 10 will compete in the final rounds.
- Unlike the past couple of seasons the All Stars will not choose and mentor the finalists. The the judges will pick who moves on. But fear not–the All Stars are returning, but not until later in the competition.
Nigel tweeted a link to tonight’s opening number. Watch it below. Make SURE to join Franky as he live blogs ALL the performances tonight.
