The Daily News reports that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been offered a spot on Dancing with the Stars. Reportedly, the environmentalist’s daughter, Kick, revealed the news when she posted a text message from her father on Instagram. Her account appears to be private a the moment. OOPS!
“I just got solicited to do a show called dancing with the stars,” said the message, “They will pay me $150,000 to commit and additional $350,000 if I make it into the semifinals in a televised dance contest. I know that some of you have seen me dance and I thought it advisable to consult you as I consider this offer.”
The figure quoted in the message matches a 2010 Hollywood Reporter story that stated contestants’ salaries were $125,000 at signing, with an extra “$345,000 pot up for grabs during the 10 weeks of airtime.”
The son of Robert F. Kennedy, and an environmental activist, Robert Jr. would not be the first politically connected contestant on the show. Tom Delay, the former Republican House Majority leader competed in 2009.
