Inside Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox World – “Scott’s vision of Postmodern Jukebox is not just about vocals, it’s about talent and fun and having stage presence,” says Lewis, who is currently on tour with with the group in Europe. “Every single video is live, and it takes some gusto to make music in an overproduced pop world. This is a fun break for me, and a fun hang from my studio and my gig. This puts me in this zone where I can get to be swinging jazz guy and I love it.” “I don’t really speak to my opinions of reality TV but as a casting agency, I found a lot of talent through those means,” Bradlee says. “What I find [is] in some ways it’s like PMJ boot camp for tour because they’re used to just going on stage; they have like one shot to just nail a song, and ours is a variety show format [where] … everybody, everybody has to be on it from like the minute they open their mouth.” – Read more at Billboard.com

Jena Irene Asciutto Ignites “Cold Flame” – Tell us about your new album: Who did you work with? Where was it recorded? What’s it about? Is there candy? My album is called Cold Fame. It’s been a development process for about 2 years with writing it, recording, perfecting the live side of things, and making sure each song fit the story. I’d like to say it’s a concept album about growing up and figuring out who I am, which is pretty much what we’re all continuing to figure out day after day. A whole swimming pool of emotions I discovered throughout the last few years; but I love that the story ended at self-acceptance. Though there’s a lot of frustration through the first half, there’s also a lot of contentment towards the end. – Read more at Arist Direct

New QUIET RIOT Singer JAMES DURBIN To Haters: ‘If You Don’t Like It, Just Shut Your Mouth’ – “I’ve been getting so much positive feedback, and so many people are just super stoked and super pumped about this lineup and about coming to see us. And so it’s all about keeping it on that wave of positivity. Yeah, there’s places where people congregate to be unhappy, but, you know, you can’t please those people, and those aren’t the people coming to our shows to begin with.” He continued: “What’s said is said, and I said what a lot of people have been thinking throughout the years. But, you know, if you wanna read more into that, there’s plenty of gossip sites that keep posting things about me, so they’re still talking. So that’s the name of the game — is press.” – Read more at Blabbermouth.net
