Monday Morning Mediabase Update: April 11-17

This week, we see a lucky 7 milestones for our Monday Morning. There are a lot of repeat numbers in today’s achievement report. Three songs move from 11th to 9th and two from 6th to 4th.

Moving 11 to 9 are the Fifth Harmony (x2) and Kelly Clarkson. Kelly performed “Piece by Piece” on Idol and it gained instant traction. A re-released, stripped-down version of the song has resonated on radio and this week, the week she gave birth to her second child, the song went top 10 on HAC. Meanwhile, X-Factor’s Fifth Harmony are having their most successful single. “Work from Home” featuring Ty Dolla $ign goes top 10 on Rhythmic and Pop. Will it reach a new peak on the Hot 100 this week?

Cassadee Pope won the third season of The Voice and went on to team with Chris Young who won Nashville Star. The two dusted on “Think of You” on Chris’s album and the song has just entered the top 5 on Country – likely waiting its turn for number one. Danny Gokey did not win Season 8 of Idol, but he’s found a home on CAC. “Tell Your Heart to Beat” entered the top 5 on that format. With the three songs above it falling, will TYHtB hit number one as well?

Currently holding down the number one spot for the second week on that chart is Idol Auditioned Lauren Daigle with “Trust in You”.

Zayn, from the UK X-Factor franchise, is having a great deal of success with his debut single “Pillowtalk”. The song is in the top 5 on Pop and top 15 on Rhythmic and just entered the top 20 on HAC.

Finally, we have three songs returning to previous nights. One Direction’s (Zayn’s former band) has “Perfect” return to the AC chart, the Voice’s Jordin Smith’s “Stand in the Light” returns to the top 30 on AC and Mandisa’s “I Hope You Dance” returns to the CAC chart.

Billboard confirms that the Lumineers got their first number one album with 125K in equivalent albums (108K in sales). Zayn’s album continues in the top ten at 8th with 31K in equivalent albums (-30%).
