Idol Sales News – Week Ending 04/28/13 (Fantasia, Tate Stevens, Jessica Sanchez)

Season 3 Idol winner, Fantasia, debuts her latest album in the number two spot (and top R&B album of the week). Tate Stevens, winner of the latest season of XF US, should debut close to the top 20.

This is the weekly sales thread. please post numbers as you find them. Thanks!

  • Fantasia’s Side Effects Of You opens at #2 on the Billboard chart! 91K sold. Congrats, fanty! (91,000 copies sold). It tops this week’s R&B chart.
  • Tate Stevens self-titled debut opens at 16,859K  and #4 on the Country Chart
  • Hits Daily Double predicts the Jessica Sanchez debut album Me, You and the Music will debut next week with 15-17k sales. It’s the lowest debut for any Idol runner up. But if you consider that the album was delayed nearly 6 months, and the single has had no official radio release date (And the label doesn’t appear to be pushing it) it’s not really surprising.

I’m going to put the sales news here as well since this is where people will expect to find it when they check the archives:
