American Idol 2010 Betting Odds Make Aaron Kelly Very Likely To Be Eliminated Instead Of Michael Lynche

Crystal Bowersox Looks Pretty Much Certain To Win
Crystal Bowersox has looked unbeatable all through the live shows of American Idol 2010 and has been odds on in the American Idol 2010 Betting Odds for some time. She is now just 4/6 with Stan James and looks pretty certain to win. If by some minor miracle she is beaten then it looks almost certain it would be Lee Dewyze who takes advantage and wins, he is 4/1 with Boylesports to win American Idol 2010 and he is still improving so that will give him some hope of victory.

Crystal Bowersox makes the ‘Idol’ airplay chart

Crystal Bowersox becomes the first Season 9 finalist to make the American Idol airplay chart this week — but it’s not with one of her performances from the show. Toledo, Ohio, AC station 101.5 The River (WRVF-FM) has picked up Crystal’s pre-Idol song Holy Toledo, playing often enough to place it at No. 90 on the Mediabased-powered chart.

Adam Lambert’s Whataya Want From Me remains atop the chart. We Are the Fallen’s Bury Me Alive moves into the No. 40 slot on USA TODAY’s Active Rock chart, and Phil Stacey’s Some Kind of Love climbs to No. 32 at Christian AC.

Siobhan Magnus: American Idol Season 9’s fashionista

Siobhan Magnus’ quirky ensembles have met with mixed reviews on American Idol, with even mentor Usher gently suggesting she might want to tone it down a notch. But for Lucky creative director Andrea Linett, the 20-year-old’s sense of style is refreshing. “(We’re) used to seeing people dressed by stylists, but she’s obviously dressing herself, which makes it so charming, ” she says. Linett and USA TODAY’s Kristin McGrath take a closer look at Siobhan’s fashion choices so far.

Review: Daughtry shines in Reno show despite muddy mix

Chris Daughtry is a great talent, and he has surrounded himself with fantastic backing musicians, a fact that became apparent when he stormed the pop charts despite making an early exit on American Idol.

Sadly, the depth of that talent was obscured during his Saturday night concert at Reno Events Center.

Like the technicians at too many rock shows, the crew for Daughtry seem to subscribe to the loud is good philosophy, ignoring the fact that some concertgoers like to hear lyrics, make out guitar solos and generally differentiate one instrument from the next.

Dancing’s Derek Hough: I Have to Top Last Season’s Mambo Head-Bob

Derek Hough is feeling the pressure — not because he and Nicole Scherzinger are the Dancing with the Stars leaders, but because the swing marathon is taking place Monday. And who can forget how he and Joanna Krupa, uh, head-bobbed their way to a victory in the mambo marathon last season? “Everyone still talks about that!” Hough tells TVGuide.com. “I really feel like I’ve got to do something to trump that now.” The swing marathon isn’t the only thing on Hough’s plate this week. He and Scherzinger, who bounced back from a tear-filled meltdown last week to earn a season-high score of 29, must also perform the samba. See how rehearsals are going, what he has to say to Kate Gosselin’s haters and why he would never go pantless on stage.

Paula Abdul’s Paparazzi Predicament

So much for a relaxing Sunday at the spa.

As a handful of photographers stood outside the Ole Henriksen salon in West Hollywood yesterday waiting for Paula Abdul to exit, an eyewitness tells E! News that one of them dropped his phone by Abdul’s parked Range Rover and had to crawl underneath the SUV to retrieve it.

Shortly after, three deputies from the West Hollywood branch of the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department arrived on the scene. Illegal oil change? Nope. Our source says the boys in blue asked the paps if one of them had put a tracking device under Abdul’s car, explaining that the former American Idol judge was concerned for her safety. While the eyewitness says no one was cited in the incident, Abdul was a bit shaken up…

“Everything was cool, but the people in the salon made a big deal, ” says the source. “Paula did not want to ride in her own car.”

‘Glee’ Creator Is ‘Entertaining’ Idea Of Britney Spears-Themed Episode

With “Glee” already paying homage to pop stars like Lady Gaga and Madonna, it seems like a natural fit for them to complete the blond pop-star trifecta with an episode dedicated to the one and only Britney Spears next season.

Last week, Spears’ manager, Adam Leber, suggested the idea via Twitter, and now show creator Ryan Murphy has admitted that he’s thinking about doing an episode entirely dedicated to the pop princess. “I’m interested in the Britney Spears idea. I’ve always loved her, ” he told EW.com. “I’m entertaining it. I think young kids would like that.”

In the meantime, Murphy has a slightly more controversial blonde in mind for a musical homage on the hit Fox show. “I actually ran into Courtney Love the other day and talked to he, ” he said. “She’s interested. I would love to have the kids do a Courtney Love episode one day.”

Chris Colfer Talks Of ‘Glee’ Dreams, Kurt’s New Beau and Going Gaga

This week on ‘Glee‘ (Tuesdays at 9/8c), Fox’s feel-good freshman hit hits “Home” with one of its most resonant episodes to date. Will Kurt be able make his and Finn’s blended family work? Can Will help April (guest star Kristin Chenoweth) arrive at a better place in life? Will Mercedes be able to ward off Sue-inflicted body image issues? Chris Colfer (Kurt) previewed the “very emotional” outing.

I really enjoyed the episode “Home.” ‘Glee’s best episodes feature a rousing number or two, but this one also is really about something.
Absolutely. It’s about finding a home, making a home, feeling at home with yourself…. It’s very emotional.

  1. I just have to say Yay!! Adam is still holding strong to #10 on itunes :)

  2. Wow, they are really pouring money into the Glee tour. And why not, they conquer itunes every week.

  3. OK: my Glee audition vid is up! I need people to vote for it since i turned it in on the last day, so to watch/rate it, go to myspace.com/gleeauditions. Then, scroll down to where the audition videos are uploaded (under “Gleeks”) and in that search box type in my number “512465537“. click on it, watch it, and give me a MOFO GOLD STAR! thanks

ok thats what i spammed my fbook friends with, and i figured if you guys like it, you might be able to help me out as well as i know there are some serious Gleeks on these boards :)))

plus, if i get on the show, i can totally leak spoilers to you guys!!!!! so its a win win!!!! lol thanks for any help MJers.

The name is Mark btw, just so you can double check that its my video you are watching! There’s a funny Adam Lambert shout out in the video as well…

  4. Has Slezak publicly commented on Alison joining Adam’s tour? I haven’t been following that closely so I was wondering if the mini item in Idolatry was his first comment on the subject. Seems like he’s in favor of it.

Simon is a smart guy. Having GaGa as a guest judge on X Factor (if true) will certainly jumpstart that show.

  5. The reviews are starting to come in to the U.K. for FYE:

    http://www.thisisderbyshire.co.uk/entertainment/Reality-TV-star-pop-juggernaut-track/article-2068752-detail/article.html

The first article also reviews Boys Like Girls and Lady Antebellum, and they weren’t as nice about their albums.

The second article states he should be as big as Gaga :)

What I like about these articles is that no one can say this is RCA or the mainstream US media pimping him.

  6. Simon LOVES Lady Gaga, but who doesn’t right?
It’s interesting that the Glee tour won’t make any money, i read somewhere the first leg of Gaga’s monster ball ended in quite a big debt.
Hopefully Adam and Allison will be more reasonable with the money, i mean who wants to tour 2 1/2 months for free?
Did Kris announce his tour yet? He said he is also going in June, right?

  7. What I like about these articles is that no one can say this is RCA or the mainstream US media pimping him.

Of course Sony UK is pimping him, but who cares, they do it for all artists, he’s hardly the only one

  8. laureIG
Slezak said he was going to blog about Allison opening for Adam after he stopped flailing. So I am guessing there might be more to come but I haven’t seen the new Idolatry so I don’t know what he said in it. For awhile ther I was thinking he might have been upset over it cuz we didn’t hear a peep from him for almost two weeks after the announcment. Turns out he was just squeeing to muc lol so it was hard for him to comment.

  9. Holy crap. Adam’s concert at Starland Ballroom in NJ is aready sold out. Per their twitter he made history as one of their fastest selling concerts. I think I need to thank my lucky stars I got tickets to it!

They tweeted it earlier so I’m not sure how quickly it sold out but probably in minutes.

Darn!! I was planning on attending that concert… lol Oh well. Hopefully they will have a date in the DC/Baltimore or Philadelphia area. I live closer to those spots anyways.

  12. We just got one on tweet for Kris’s tour. Here’s the tweet. RT @nbc15_madison Kris Allen will stop in Madison Tuesday, June 1. 8p concert at Capitol Theater at Overture Center.

  13. lorismile, Starland Ballroom – capacity 2500 – at least 1/4 of the tickets went to scalpers. Check Stubhub and similar sites. Do you know what was the nominal price? The cheapest one I found was around 70 bucks.
    I hate scalpers, I hate scalpers, I hate scalpers…

  14. I haven’t really been online too much over the past week. Has Kris’s tour plans firmed up yet? Are there hints?

Yeah. Adam & Starland Ballroom. Hopefully he will continue to have success selling his tour out… no matter the size.

I got tickets last Friday during the 1st presale through Ticketmaster. The total with all the fees, etc. was about $50 per ticket. The face value without fees was $35.50 ea. Hopefully Foxwoods won’t sell out that quickly. I want to go to that concert too.

I don’t see any Chicago dates posted yet.

  16. Koshka Today we got two so far for Kris, there above your post.

  17. I would so audition for Glee if I had time. I think I wanna audition for American Idol or X Factor :P.

You know what I just realized? Siobhan kinda sounds like Justin Bieber sometimes. I was listening to Paint it Black and I was like “hey, she reminds me of The Fetus!” of course it’s not a huge resemblance but I heard a resemblance once.

  18. Also Angel Taylor (think that her name) has a few more dates list on her website that hasn’t been announce yet. She’s also opening up with Kris for BNL.

Someone said two or three minutes. I’m surprised it sold out faster than Vancouver (10 min.) considering V was only about 1000 seat venue and Starland 2500.

  22. Kris is touring with lots of different performers. He should get lots of new fans.

  23. Was it here I read where someone tried to get Adam tickets, but failed. However, someone she knows who doesn’t like him got good seats, only to resell them for a profit.

Also, the OC fair is VERY close to being sold out! (only a few single seats left) It’s a 8,500 seat venue!

  29. Are the Barenaked Ladies the big act Kris and his band were talking about?
I admit I’ve never heard of them.

I don’t think BNL is the surprise act Andrew meant. They’ve been booked for that gig for quite a while. BNL is a Canadian band that has had at least one #1 Billboard hit and numerous Grammy nominations. I see them booked a lot in and around Los Angeles.

that’s great!! they should use that fan made poster. it looks awesome.

  32. Tiger92 I heard those single tickets were bad seats. Someone will buy them, however.

  33. I’ll bet any amount of $ the other record breaking acts to sell out Starland Ballroom were other Idols. I know Archie and I think Cook also sold out that venue in minutes. It’s a very Idol friendly place.

Here’s a little blurb about Idols and Starland:

I don’t want to take anything away from Adam selling out venues. That’s a good thing. :) Just be wary about scalpers buying tickets to take advantage of the more OTT fans. Anything above $100 is crazy (but that’s me.)

Didn’t the pre-sale start on Friday? So this is just the remaining tickets that sold to the general public?

  35. No, BNL isn’t the mystery act Andrew was talking about — we’ve known about those dates (although not all the specifics) for awhile.

I was already going to his AC date (if I can get tix – not on sale yet) — I may have to go to his one in MD the next day – LOL, between Kris & Adam, my bank account hates me.

  36. Archie sold out his date there in minutes as the article said. But maybe Adam beat him by a minute or two. More Idol numbers to compare. :)

I’m glad BNL isn’t the super cool act Kris is rumored to open for. I like them but they ain’t in the John Mayer league.

  37. tiger92 – we discussed the Starland Ballroom last page Any idea how long it took to sellout. Someone said 2 or 3 minutes???

I’m starting to feel a little pressure. My concert doesn’t go on sale until May 7th and I’m already starting to feel anxious. It’s only 2,000 seats….if my internet connection dares to hiccup it could be bad news. The good news I guess is that this venue isn’t selling through TicketMaster, which might cut down on scalpers…who knows. Those nasty scalpers should all be scalped.

  38. I thought her tour was postponed.

I thought she was so ill she couldn’t perform two days ago. But maybe she’s better…

I don’t think BNL is the surprise act Andrew meant. They’ve been booked for that gig for quite a while. BNL is a Canadian band that has had at least one #1 Billboard hit and numerous Grammy nominations. I see them booked a lot in and around Los Angeles.

  44. Haha I feel for ya tls62 I have the same thing happen to me when I’m trying to buy tickets for concerts right when they go on sale. But at least you have one to go too. Still waiting over here *tap tap tap tap tap*

Re: presale they only release a portion of tickets for presale. Its not like they have selling the presale tickets this whole time. I’m pretty sure that all the idols had presale tickets and those probably sold even faster for idol concerts haha you know idol fans would know about those probable before the venue knew about them lol

  45. On last night’s Brothers and Sisters preview for next week, Justin yelled, “Whataya want from me?” Isn’t it funny whenever we hear that now?

  46. Starland lists of sold-out acts : http://starlandballroom.com/?p=faq

It looks like the info is out of date as I don’t see David listed on here. It doesn’t matter to me if scalpers or concert goers caused the sell-out. If people weren’t interested, scalpers wouldn’t bother buying them. I’m sure scalpers are involved with all kinds of concert sell-outs. It is the nature of the beast unfortunately.

  47. On last night’s Brothers and Sisters preview for next week, Justin yelled, “Whataya want from me?” Isn’t it funny whenever we hear that now?

i had the same funny kick when i heard Charlie in Two and Half men said that a couple weeks ago.

Train is opening for John Mayer in Toronto lol

  50. It’s only 2,000 seats….if my internet connection dares to hiccup it could be bad news. The good news I guess is that this venue isn’t selling through TicketMaster,

It’s a very good thing if your venue isn’t going through TicketBastard. Can you go to the venue to get your tickets? Their website and phone lines will probably be overloaded. You might want to go to the venue and have someone trying to get them by computer/phone at the same time. If you get extra tickets by accident, you can turn around and sell them for face-value because the show will probably be sold out.
I’ve done this before and had success. (NOT for concerts for any of the idols)

  51. I need Adam to play some more dates in So Cal. I’m going to Wango Tango, but I can’t go to his gig on 7/28 because by the time that was announced I’d already bought my tix for Kris’s concert with Keith Urban for that same day.

  52. Train is opening for John Mayer in Toronto lol

could they have an opener for an opener?

  53. could they have an opener for an opener?

Yeah, there are acts that have more than one opener.

Train is opening for John Mayer in Toronto lol

could they have an opener for an opener?

He usually doesn’t because he does longer sets at his concerts. (2 hours) His concerts are also heavily attended by teenage girls- so I think they try to get done in time to accommodate the teen driving restrictions.

  55. Are there any tricks to getting tickets from Ticket Bastard? I was unsuccessful for Adam’s first three concerts. Actually the Vancouver concerts sold out in minutes, and by the time I got thru the FS one, they only had bad single seats left.

  56. Adam’s concert at Starland Ballroom in NJ is aready sold out.

Live performances are Adam’s forte IMO. Plus for me personally Allison+Orianthi+Adam is a hell of a line-up for that price (VERY happy with all 3 acts). As much as i love for example Kesha’s CD and i enjoy hearing her on radio, i would think twice before spending money to see her live…

Haha I feel for ya tls62 I have the same thing happen to me when I’m trying to buy tickets for concerts right when they go on sale. But at least you have one to go too. Still waiting over here *tap tap tap tap tap*

Don’t give up hope smeggs…we’re all still pulling for you!

I guess one advantage to GA is that you aren’t sweating which seat you get….any ticket will do. Also…do we know if ALL concerts will have advance ticket sales? I’ve worked up a pretty good rapport with the box office gal and she claims to know nothing about pre-sale. Is this something AO is doing beind the scenes?

  58. Studio57

One slight correction. The 2nd article says Adam COULD be as big as Gaga…not should be. A very positive write-up, though!

I think we’ll have to do that…several of us buy and then sell the extras, if we have any. I’m sure just posting the extras on a couple Idol blogs would be enough to sell them. It’s GA anyway, so no worries about the good/bad seat situation.

Goodness…what angst Adam is causing!! Wouldn’t have it any other way though….fun times. :)

  60. I hope scalpers didn’t snatch up most of the good tickets for Adam’s shows. I’ve read that some of these people have ways to beat the computerized ticketing systems, which totally sucks since the most loyal fans are then left with bad seats or having to pay the scalpers through the nose. I hate scalpers…

  61. Girlygirl sorry no more cali concerts until we get some in other places first :P

  62. My husband saw on StubHub a couple of tickets for the Vancouver shows the day before and day of, and prices were more reasonable. So for those who don’t have to make flight and lodging plans, you might check StubHub close to the concert date(s). I know a couple of guys who got tickets to Muse the day before (they had been sold out for weeks, maybe months).

DON’T PAY THOSE OUTRAGEOUS SCALPER PRICES. You are only putting money in the pockets of those criminals. Yes, to me they are ALL criminals unless they sell the tickets at face value plus the fees they had to pay.

  63. Allison+Orianthi+Adam is a hell of a line-up for that price (VERY happy with all 3 acts).

I like these three, I like the rock edge they have, and I like the variety of the line up. I won’t think twice about going to Adam’s concert, but the addition of Allison and Orianthi make things better.

    btw
I plan to go to the venue to buy the tickets. any chance I can get good ones?

  64. Just saw on twitter that the Kris/BNL concert in Salt Lake City on July 13th is already sold out. Don’t know how big a venue that is, but \o/ anyway!

  65. I read that some of those succesful in getting tickets at Starland through the internet logged in 5 mintues before the sale started and hit refresh repetedly… might be a good strategy.

  66. now, I can go and attempt to see Kris with BNL in LA. I actually like BNL, but couldn’t stand Keith Urban ( well I like him, just not his music).

I find this such a problem, when my favorite acts open for acts I don’t like, I rather not go at all then. Like I won’t go see “We are the Fallen” cuz they open for HIM, so I’m not going. I wonder if that actually hurts artist more then they know?
I love that Adam chose to headline his own, therefore I will go to as many as I can (and can afford).

  67. I know at arena concerts even when they are sold through Ticket Bastard, you can go directly to the venue to get tickets. I wonder what happens if you are waiting in line for tickets and the tickets on-line sells out in ten minutes. Do they have a different block of tickets for those who get them in person?

  83. Goodness…what angst Adam is causing!! Wouldn’t have it any other way though….fun times.

I know whoever is planning Adam’s tour picked smaller venues so they would have a better chance of selling out, but it looks as if they were way too cautious. It’s great to sell out in a few minutes, but that unfortunately leaves a lot of people wanting tickets who can’t get them except by paying scalpers’ exorbitant prices.

Basic lesson: when tickets sell out too fast, the venue is too small!

  84. Haha so TPTB picked smaller venues so they could say Adam’s tour sold out? Haha of course if they had picked bigger venues then they would have been living in the clouds cuz see he couldn’t sell all the tickets hahaha can’t win

  85. Reminder:

The thread, and what people say on these threads is not the topic. Please no blog on blog talk.

  86. OH, I AM soo upset I cannot see him live this summer, let’s hope he hits it big in Europe and comes here, actually MOVES HERE!!!!!!!!!!

  87. BestAI

Kris is doing solo shows as well, so maybe he’ll do one near where you live and you and your husband can go to that? Or maybe you’ll like whoever the “mystery act” is that he’s supposed to do some dates with.

  88. I don’t think Adam is capable of selling out 5,000 seat venues across America. I think he could do that in maybe NY and LA but overall, I think the smaller venues are the way to go.

Although when I was in Maine my cousin was convinced he could sell out the Civic Center in Portland. I told her she was delusional. Maybe for his next tour. :-)

  89. agathe.hb

Aw, I’m sure Adam will do some shows overseas eventually. Maybe late this year or early in 2011. Wouldn’t count on him moving overseas, though…he seems too attached to wanting to be where his friends and family live. Can’t say I blame him.

  90. agathe.hb, Adam will be in Berlin next week, probably performing.Go, girl, go!!

  91. sh***t, Oksana I might just do that, does anybody know the exact dates????? anybody??????

  92. Haha of course if they had picked bigger venues then they would have been living in the clouds cuz see he couldn’t sell all the tickets hahaha can’t win.

I really believe they could have sold out 4k to 5k-seat venues with little problem, especially in and near larger cities. Even in NYC, their chosen venue (Nokia Theatre) seats only 2100. Luckily, it appears they have a consecutive backup date on that so an additional performance can be scheduled when the first one sells out.

  93. Siobhan and Lee are cute together.

Aw, they are cute together. I wonder what Lee was doing in that pic holding Siobhan’s hand. Btw, I never thought Lee was omgz so sexy on TV or anything, but I always thought he had a somewhat cute face from watching him on the show, but DUDE, he is apparently NOT photogenic at all. I’ve only seens a couple pics total, but it always looks like he has some distorted facial expression. Odd, and not cute.

  94. I just was a concert in/or around Seattle or Portland. Is that to much to ask for 19/Sony??? Is it really???

  95. I’m not sure why some people are obsessed about what size venues these guys play. The fact is that 99.9% of musicians play small to mid-sized venues — only a handful of them can sell out arenas on a consistent basis and even fewer could pack someplace like Wembley Stadium. The tour promoters and labels and artists want to make money on these tours — which they aren’t going to do by booking venues that they can’t fill. Or by having over-extravagent productions. I read, for instance, that Lady Gaga’s tour has lost a ton of money.

Better for Adam or Kris or whoever to play venues they can sell out or at least sell to near capacity then to play venues which wold be half empty or where they’d have to resort to giving away loads of tickets to fill it up. If they draw well now, well they can always try to play bigger venues when they are a little more established.

  96. Reminder:

The thread, and what people say on these threads is not the topic. Please no blog on blog talk.

MJ- if you are talking about my post, I wasn’t talking about people on the blog- there are people who say Adam is a fail and that his 15 minutes are up on EW, Perez, youtube, etc. It really was a blanket statement.

Lots of Adam fans who went to RMT said Kris put on a good show, so I think we will be in for a treat. I would prefer to see Kris as a headliner — maybe Matt Giraud can open for him. Not at all out of the question.

What are the guesses who the mystery act might be from the posters at the Kris fansites?

  100. BestAI

There have been all kinds of guesses. One popular one seems to be maroon5, as at least one member of Kris’s band knows someone in Maroon5. I don’t know if that band is as big as John Mayer (which one was one of the clues) though. Hopefully some announcement will be made shortly.

  101. girlygirl, I think Adam’s fans are getting frustrated because they get shut out within minutes of Adam’s concerts in their own area.

  102. girlygirl — How come the big mystery if it’s Mayer. Keith Urban is bigger than John Mayer and a lot nicer person too. If it’s Mayer, they should call it the nice boy vs bad boy concert.

  103. If it’s Mayer, they should call it the nice boy vs bad boy concert.

I kinda went through this with the summer AI tour. But I think Adam’s tix are gonna be harder to get :-( I really want awesome seats for Adam. And I’m willing to pay for it, but just not TOO TOO much.

    “NO, he is NOT”

I don’t know what everyone’s classification of what a international star is, but for me Adam is becoming one. Anyone who can transcend the language barrier of several different countries and sell their music, plus climb the ranks of their charts is becoming an international star. It’s not only the language barrier, but also the cultural differences that matters also. Adam seem to be connecting with a lot of different people around the world, through one of the greatest commonalities which is music.

  124. Judee I want to know what his sales are in Japan too. I wonder if by harassing the AO mod they might get sony to spill the beans.

  125. show me the balance sheet!!

It’s obvious we’ll never know what any artist is making. What we do know is that he’s definately getting another single released, definately making another video, he’s on round two of Int’l promo tours (with the band and dancers), he’s headlining a tour, and RCA is apparently happy, or this all wouldn’t be happening. That’s all I need to know. Sony/RCA/19 can deal with the rest, which they seem to be doing perfectly right now. :)

  126. well Judee, I agree with you that he is not the international star YET, but to many of us he is :D and I keep my fingers crossed for him, he deserves all the good karma coming his way – not for his voice, but his gracious attitude, great heart and overall cheekiness :)

^^THIS x a million! So true. Yes, it is not common for artists to be able to sell around the world. Very few US artists do it, and all the ones who do are pretty big names already. So the fact that he is already being so well received overseas is just great to see :-)

  130. If anyone should be complaining about lack of tour dates, it’s us poor unfortunates who live in the Deep South. What about a concert in Memphis, Nashville or Atlanta? At this rate, Hawaii and Alaska will get one before us Southerners. It’s so not fair!!

Yeah, I’m surprised there’s nothing in Florida, at least (except the Tampa Bay show in September). Plus, there definitely have to be more West Coast/CA dates. I can’t believe there’s only one in all of CA.

  132. He IS the international star Simon said he would be.

    NO, he is NOT

Nope, he’s still working on promo and he has a long way to go. The album isn’t even out in the UK. It’s hard to quantify the word star, yet 200 fans in an airport is heartwarming and beautiful to many fans. The turnout in London is encouraging. Getting enough sales for touring and album number two for me, that’s all I need to see.

Japanese sales are so hard to get, I’m not sure we will ever get a clear picture of that.

  133. bridgette12: your post reminded me of this old Disney song: Poor unfortunate souls, lolz

How did they determine FYE being #1 on Japan’s Hot Billboard? Is it only spins? Why is it so difficult to get the sales nos from Japan? The only thing I heard was that many Japanese tweeted that they couldn’t find his album in any stores because they flew off the shelves so quickly.

And it was at least 300 at Japan airport — but who’s keeping tabs? Adam also made the cover of RS-Japan and numerous other magazines. RS sold out and they are trying to substitute other magazines to ship.

  135. I’ve found on pulse Adam sold 1400 albums last week in Japan and 24k in total. I have no idea how accurate it is.

  136. I think the Japanese album sales numbers are physical cds, it’s the download and singles sales that are hard to get a source on. I think the #1 spot he had was in airplay. That’s the way I understood it anway.

  137. ahhh Heaven show is done. He did a different song set from GAY. He did Sleepwalker :-)

Set list: FYE, Music Again, WWFM, Strut, Sleepwalker, Fever, If I Had You

  138. Fuzzy picture of Adam from Heavens gate is it just me or do I spy bare arms??

I think he has a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up.

  139. Judee the problem with the numbers we can get for Adam is they don’t give all sales figures and don’t include digial at all.

I want a D.C. Show!! Pretty please with a cherry on top!
Not that it’s likely I’m gonna get to go anyway

Me, too, luv — me, too!
You went to the Summer Tour at the Verizon Center, didn’t you? That was the first week of August during our vacation week, so I happened to be out of town. I still keep reminding my husband about the fact that I missed that show. I am ready to spend whatever to see Adam in our neck of the woods…… :)

It’s obviously subjective and a matter of semantics, but I think most people make a huge distinction between international star, which Adam might be considered, and INTERNATIONAL SUPERSTAR, which I don’t think anyone from the Idol universe can be classified (Kelly obviously being the closest). I’d put Adam somewhere between Jordin and Daughtry on the international star scale.

It’s great that Adam is being marketed and achieving some international success, but priority number one should be growing his fanbase in the U.S. The U.S. music market is still the largest by far, and I can’t think of an American artist who achieved international superstardom without being a superstar at home first. Maybe it’s possible in a more globalized society, but I don’t think many of his Idol fans will be happy if he’s filling arenas in Europe and Asia, but rarely touring or being played on the radio in the U.S.

Not saying that will be the case, but it is fascinating to me that RCA has focused so much energy overseas when his radio presence and sales in the U.S. seem to me to be a bit low to warrant so much international investment. Just my two cents (admittedly from a non-Adam fan)

  142. I’m loving the tweets from the Heaven show lol
Seems they kind of enjoyed it.

I don’t think Kelly could be considered an International Superstar….Intl star maybe but I wouldn’t call her a superstar.

ETA: I don’t think Adam is one …. yet. I remain optimistic.

  143. is itunes the primary way to buy singles in Japan?

I believe that not at all.

Again i have no idea where the japanese numbers came from, just reposting pulse info.

  144. Not saying that will be the case, but it is fascinating to me that RCA has focused so much energy overseas when his radio presence and sales in the U.S. seem to me to be a bit low to warrant so much international investment. Just my two cents (admittedly from a non-Adam fan)

To me it’s pretty clear why RCA are marketing him internationally. So far, wherever they have released a single, he is doing really well. He is connecting and selling so why wouldn’t they go for it?

  145. I can’t think of an American artist who achieved international superstardom without being a superstar at home first.

KOL are an obvious example from recent time.

don’t laught at me, but what is KOL?

Kings of Leon. The band of the awesome songs “Sex on Fire” and “Use Somebody”. I <3 them.

They hit it big in the UK before hitting it big in the US.

  147. Not saying that will be the case, but it is fascinating to me that RCA has focused so much energy overseas when his radio presence and sales in the U.S. seem to me to be a bit low to warrant so much international investment. Just my two cents (admittedly from a non-Adam fan)

I think 19/RCA figured Adam’s case is unique, so they decided on a different strategy. They proceeded to promote him internationally before he became successful in the US. So far, Adam has been meeting expectations internationally (for this stage of the promo), and he is being very well received. 19/Sony has reported that they are very pleased with Adam. If you listen to the djs interviews and read the articles, they have been speaking glowingly of Adam, not only of his talent but how charismatic he is.

  148. it is fascinating to me that RCA has focused so much energy overseas when his radio presence and sales in the U.S. seem to me to be a bit low to warrant so much international investment

TPTB touted him as an “international star” way back during S8 and in all his post season press releases. I think they always had the belief that his style would be a better fit with what is popular outside the U.S.

    KOL = Kings of Leon

  149. There were some 90’s acts that were popular in Europe but weren’t big in the US, but it’s not good memories so I forgot most of their names.

There were some 90’s acts that were popular in Europe but weren’t big in the US, but it’s not good memories so I forgot most of their names.

Oasis maybe? Or do they count since they’re from Europe?

  151. Not saying that will be the case, but it is fascinating to me that RCA has focused so much energy overseas when his radio presence and sales in the U.S. seem to me to be a bit low to warrant so much international investment. Just my two cents (admittedly from a non-Adam fan)

In my non-expert opinion, I’m wondering if RCA thinks it’ll be easier to get airplay overseas than the US. It’s not been the easiest sell so far. FYE got the big thumbs down and it’s well received elsewhere. And to me, the album plays like an international playlist. They won’t abandon the US, especially tour money, but I can see how international might have been the master plan when selecting the tracks on the album. Give him a few months to promote, tour in the US then back overseas to promote and tour again (if he sells well enough).

  152. oh, thanks guys, I know them :) just a little densish, lolz
as for Adam, he is unique, and I am soooo happy they took a chance on him :)

  153. Oasis maybe? Or do they count since they’re from Europe?

Oasis are an english band, I was talking about US artists who exported there music to Europe. A good exemple was Anastacia who was very popular in a lot of european countries but failed to hit in the US. If I say Scatman, Gala, 2Unlimited… I doubt many people in the US would know those names, but they all had n°1 hits accross Europe.

  154. I can’t think of an American artist who achieved international superstardom without being a superstar at home first.

Didn’t GaGa’s The Fame actually go to #1 in other countries before the US? Seems like Canada, Germany, and a couple others embraced it before we did. Funny….isn’t Adam also doing quite well in Canada and Germany? Hmmmmm….

  155. Adam is not an international superstar. He’s not even an international star yet. He IS off to a good start in that his single and album are selling well outside the US and he s getting a lot positive press. But until he tours overseas and shows he can be a draw, and he shows he can consistently sell his music in other countries it’s still a little soon to tag him as a int’l star.

I’m also skeptical of things like the 200 fans at the airport, because I’m aware of all the promotion Sony did to try and get fans to show up at the hotels and airports. How much of this was genuine and how much of it was staged, you know? MUCH more impressive to me are the sales numbers.

I see. Yah, I have no clue who Scatman, Gala, or 2Unlimited is. LOL

  157. From the get go RCA/19 seemed to focus on promoting Adam as an international star as much as one in the US, so it’s not surprising they are spending so much time & money on him outside the States. And to this point, it seems to be working out fine.

If you look at past charts of the top selling artists overseas, I’m sure there will be a few US artists who never made much of a dent in the US market but did well in Europe and/or Asia. There always seem to be a handful of US musicians who, for whatever reason, connect better with European and/or Asian audiences than they do with American ones.

  158. Thanks for the KOL example Judee.

There were some 90’s acts that were popular in Europe but weren’t big in the US, but it’s not good memories so I forgot most of their names.

I guess you could classify the boy band craze (Backstreet Boys/NSync) as American groups that were big in Europe before America. That was a matter of the U.S. market turning back toward bubblegum pop in the mid-90s. I think Adam is in uncharted territory to the extent that he’s so well known as a “celebrity” in America, while the KOL or other groups were unknowns when they achieved success abroad and returned to the U.S. If he could transition his tremendous celebrity status (media interest) into musical success than he’ll be a huge star.

On a related note, I was really surprised WWFM wasn’t a bigger hit on the radio here. The sales have definitely picked up post-AI performance, so there’s a chance it could have a second wind, but it’s losing spins on pop. That’s the one song I listened to on his album that I thought was a surefire radio hit (and it achieved it to an extent). If I Had You was actually number two for me, and I think it could have success, although it is definitely more Euro-sounding (leading more toward For Your Entertainment than Whatya Want From Me).

  159. Mary102
“^^THIS x a million! So true. Yes, it is not common for artists to be able to sell around the world. Very few US artists do it, and all the ones who do are pretty big names already. So the fact that he is already being so well received overseas is just great to see ”

Yeah it’s great to see. Just look at GAGA, she gained international acknowledgement before she hit it big in the US. I believe it was always in the grand scheme by RCA to market Adam internationally, due to his style of performance and voice. Certainly the interest from the international media certainly drove that point home, when American Idol was being bombarded with request from the foreign media to interview Adam during Season 8. The difference between him and a lot of other singers going overseas, is that he can actually sing and give a great live performance. look at artist like Taylor Swift, Kesha and Rihanna, all big sellers, but couldn’t sing live to save their life. Adam’s biggest asset besides his voice, is his drive for perfection. He wants to give his all and leave nothing to chance with every performance. I think that’s what audiences appreciate both in America and abroad.

  160. MUCH more impressive to me are the sales numbers.

I agree. Adam’s doing just fine. He’s gold or platinum in multiple countries (both his album and his singles). I think that’s a great beginning.

  161. girlygirl, well especially when we are talking about somebody so completely out of the box, so to speak…. It’s hard to market him in the US… for example, even though everybody (almost) agrees that Fever is great, it won’t be played on the radio just because of this ridiculous “he” pronoun…..

  162. Sleepwalker seems to be the hit on my Twitter feed. He does kill it live.

  163. A poster on DCO once noted that Adam’s music is quite in line with what is hot and at the top of the charts in the UK (and in Europe) right now, so I can understand why RCA are focusing on promoting him there. And also understand that if he achieves measurable success over there, RCA can use that to further promote him in the U.S. For his sake though, I hope that RCA does not once again forego the route of having him do a U.S. radio tour to promote the second single. Yes, he did a few for his first single(s) but it seems they were not very many of those. I think he could have done much better (or gone up much faster) in terms of radio play if he had worked the radio station tour route.

  164. I agree Keel, wisely said. Sometimes the lack of US radio promo scares me. I am still not going to be secure in Adams international success till we see what happens in the UK. Very important market imo. Germany is looking really promising and I have been told that if WWFM charts in most European countries France will jump on the train as well.

  165. There were some 90’s acts that were popular in Europe but weren’t big in the US, but it’s not good memories so I forgot most of their names.

to name one David Hasselhoff, was HUGE in Germany!! why I could never figure out… LOL
Also anyone remember Biance Ryan first year winner of AGT, she also sold only well in Europe, and not here at all.

  166. Sleepwalker seems to be the hit on my Twitter feed. He does kill it live

Sleepwalker and Whataya Want From Me were not my favorites on the CD – somewhere in the middle – until I saw him perform them live. He does kill them. I think a live CD from him would sell pretty well. Not too many artists can say they sound better live than on a CD.

  167. Didn’t GaGa’s The Fame actually go to #1 in other countries before the US? Seems like Canada, Germany, and a couple others embraced it before we did. Funny….isn’t Adam also doing quite well in Canada and Germany? Hmmmmm….

You’re right, Gaga seems to be the model RCA is hoping to follow. Again, the question with Adam is will the Idol connection / Social controversy that has given him name recognition help or hurt his prospects in the U.S. I tend to think, if the music is stellar, the rest of it matters little. If he produces radio friendly hits like Gaga, they’ll be played and he’ll be an international star.

  168. tweets from the show, I hope video shows up :)

LOL, I hope for video. Like Gaga, show me your teeth? Kind of strange, but lulzy.

  172. Agree he should do much more radio promo in the US than he is doing. I don’t understand…. Even Christina is doing radio promo on daily basis, so why not give such a newbie like Adam a radio promo tour? Maybe he can visit the radios during his summer tour. hopefully…
    RCA do you hear me?????

  173. Is showing teeth British slang for something else, like take off your pants and show us your assets?

  174. Yeah, I’m guessing it was a GaGa reference. I guess he made some comment at first that he had too many layers on. Then he thought THEY wanted to show their tits so he said he and the band was okay with that. I don’t know if he ever figured out they were saying teeth.

  175. I can’t think of an American artist who achieved international superstardom without being a superstar at home first.

Didn’t GaGa’s The Fame actually go to #1 in other countries before the US? Seems like Canada, Germany, and a couple others embraced it before we did.

If Wiki is to be believed, The Fame kind of started getting noticed everywhere around the world around the late 2008/early 2009 time frame. So even if she made #1 in say, Canada, it was maybe two or three months ahead of her being #4 in the U.S., where she had been in the Top 20 for a couple of months. She didn’t officially make #1 in the U.K. until April and she’d already been riding high in the charts in the U.S. at that point. So I’m thinking that it was kind of just a matter of timing where she’d rise up the charts faster in one country versus another.

I think KOL is the more obvious comparator of someone who was pretty huge in Europe but was only known to alt rock listeners in the U.S. But KOL was well past their debut album when they finally blew up in the U.S.

Knowing myself, I would probably just lose the money rather than try to go thru the process of selling them. It wouldn’t kill me to go to more than one. I’d really like to do that but have so much problem getting someone to stay with my mom at nights that I don’t think I could handle being gone for more than one.

No you’re correct, but my point was really give Adam and Kris and Danny and Allison the whole year.
And that if even a huge band like KOL or Jay-Z or Eminem sell around 1.5 million over 12 months that a new artist should NOT be held to that same standard no matter what the hype.
That each artist is a success for completely different reasons and with ALL the well known artists considered successfull last year that DID NOT even make that top seller’s list, than Adam, if we must compare, is doing VERY WELL.

    SQUEEEEEE GM.TV WAS INCREDIBLE!!!!

It was!!! Great interview, Adam looking HAWT! And FYE was probably the best version I’ve ever seen! Tight, awesome choreography, especially considering what a small performance space they had for the tv show! :-)

  193. I hope Adam is building up his photos portfolio. If his music career goes bust, he can become a supermodel. Who knew Adam would be this photogenic?

  194. The GMTV was great! I watched it quickly before work, I have to go watch it again in more detail. Drool bucket closeby.

Haven’t caught up on everything yet. Is Adam performing tonight (or as we speak)?

  195. Hi! Guys! I thought I would find a separate thread here for all the great Adam news going on today in the UK! I haven’t had a chance to read comments yet but Adam did a great interview and performance on a UK morning show where he sang FYE with his dancers and charmed the hostess, did a song set at the Mtv studio, and did a ‘kick-ass’ concert at Heaven tonight! By the pics and tweets the UK fans were ‘flailing’ just like fans here. I call it the UNIVERSIAL LANGUAGE of Adam F. Lambert fans!!

Adam, also, went to #1 on Itunes in Germany and is doing well on other Itune charts in different countries. And Adam’s single WWFM will be announced going PLATINUM here!!!!

What a start for AFL’s INTERNATIONAL PROMO TOUR II!!

  196. Oh, that is good.

Thanks for the info, Bowie. So the Heaven concert has already been. Can’t wait to see vids and pics. Just reading some of the tweets.

And awesome dancing from Adam, with lots more self groping.

We need video! No discreet adjusting moves here. :D

  197. Adam Lambert is not a new artist. Neither is anyone else from American Idol. No new artist starts off with 20-30 million people watching them on TV. No new artist starts gets the level of promo the Idol folk get. Especially the promo Adam has had.

Now once they release their music, they still have to achieve success the old fashioned way by working hard. But it’s completely absurd to compare anyone from Idol to a true new artist who starts off with almost no exposure at all. Okay rant over. :)

  198. so people are waiting to see if Kris will tweet about his new single, right? maybe take a subtle jab at Jive or something? yeah…not so much…

  199. On the top selling albums discussion: The better measuring period to use is probably the Billboard chart year, versus the calendar year. The reason is that many labels like to have their top selling artists release around the end of the year to capitalize on holiday sales (thus, the insane release schedule for Idols). Accordingly, the Billboard chart year usually runs right around November to October, and therefore when you are comparing cycles for many (but not all) the heavy hitters, you get closer to comparing apples to apples in the sense that you are comparing, say, Taylor’s their largest selling months (i.e., 2008 holidays) versus Beyonce’s largest selling months (i.e., 2008 holidays), instead of Taylor’s okay selling months (2009 holidays when her album is over a year old) versus SuBo’s biggest blockbuster months (2009 holidays). Of course, in the case of KOL, you still end up losing their first week/month sales because they released in September 2008, but you at least capture the big holiday sales in 2008 back when their album was only a couple of months old versus their 2009 holiday sales which were respectable, but still, it was already over a year old at that point.

ETA: KOL were certified platinum in July 2009, and then sold another 600k albums since then.

  203. Kris interview from last weekend. (I think this is the first time I’ve seen Ryan’s hand being described (luckily not by Kris) as “adorable”…)

“Allen acknowledges that the business has dramatically changed over the last 20 years, noting that the value of a hit song is higher than a carefully crafted album. “It’s no secret that this entire industry is focused on singles and getting that one song that’s going to get popular on the radio,” he says.

With the advent of iTunes and Attention Deficit Disorder, the music world has haphazardly fallen into a one-hit wonder paradigm that places pressure on musicians to consistently record hit songs in order to stay in the limelight.

“I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t in the back of my head when I sit down to write sometimes,” Allen says. “It’s impossible to describe how to write one, but the minute you play it—you just know.”…”

Adam Lambert/Orianthi almost sold out the Pac Amp in just a few days!Should we add another Adam Lambert show? Let us know!

    Is this the 8500 amphitheater????

I’m officially loving the dancers. I bet they’ll have wardrobe changes on tour for the different vibes/songs. The way he joins in step with them really works well. I have no idea how he keeps it all straight. Lyrics/dance moves/vocals. Amazing.

And Tommy’s jacket rocked!! Very cool.

  211. videos definite soon :)

@PumpkinRiver Me too, far too wide awake to sleep yet!! Plus I’m 37% through uploading videos to YouTube so I have to wait for it to finish

  212. videos definite soon

Why do I sense another summer of cellcasts, late nights waiting for videos???

  213. lorismile:

It is but the tickets are only $29 and it includes the fair (whatever that means lol I mean I don’t know how big the fair is).

I think they start at 20 and up. I see Julianne Hough tickets go up to 59. Does she command a higher price than Adam? I don’t think that many people are interested in the fair who got tickets to this. I wouldn’t be, anyway. Regardless if you want to go to the fair or not, the concert price is the same.

Why do I sense another summer of cellcasts, late nights waiting for videos???

At least we’re all used to no sleep by now. It’s been a year, so not only does my body not expect sleep, my family isn’t surprised anymore either. I had to laugh at a question he was asked a while ago in an interview. They asked…..what have you learned about yourself since Idol? He replied….that I don’t need 7 or 8 hours of sleep, I’m good with 4 or so. Boy if that isn’t the truth….fans included!

  215. At the Pacific Amphitheater, the seats in the center front section (a big section) and the pit were never available even to the 1st folks with the fan password. Some might have gone to season ticket holders but the closest ones are already on Stub Hub for over a $1,000. I know someone planning to pay over $350 for a good seat if they’re still available.

I’d love to see another concert scheduled with better seats available. Mine aren’t too bad. I’m hoping he doesn’t look like Adam Ant!!

on Ticketliquidator, they offer pit tix for $1900 per ticket.
I was on ticketmaster right at 9 am, these people had to have another secret way in… which angers me…. grrrrr hrrumpf

  217. Fear not…..IDF has a couple downloads already. Somebody will put them on YouTube pretty quick. :)

  218. GreenHippo – I agree. My son’s friend is practically a professional at getting tickets on line and he, my son and I were all on line as the Atomic clock ticked 9AM and there was NOT ONE TICKET in that huge center section. I feel like the fans get taken advantage of sometimes. They knew we would buy anything. I think some might be like all-event ticket holders and they are OBVIOUSLY holding some back. HUMBUG.

  219. “I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t in the back of my head when I sit down to write sometimes,” Allen says. “It’s impossible to describe how to write one, but the minute you play it—you just know.”…”

This makes me sad. Unfortunately it is the evil music business

  220. So I just had an awesome thought that involves a lot of “ifs” but would just kill if it actually happened.
-If Adam gets a 4th single for the fall and
-If that single is Sleepwalker and
-(This is the big) If Adam got another oppertunity to perform on an awards show
-Then the song he would most likely perform would be SW
Can you just imagine the response from performing SW on a big awards show. We need to figure out how to make this happen.

  221. (This is the big) If Adam got another oppertunity to perform on an awards show

It is ironic you mentioned this, because I went back today and watched his performance from the AMA’s for the first time since when he performed it live back in late November.. and really watching it again I did not think it was really that bad. Certainly not as bad as the uproar and outcry that came with it. I think he will get more awards shows without a doubt!

  222. smeggingnuts: Yes, that’s an awesome series of events you have just listed here. SW on Leno was one of the most powerful tv performances he has done IMO. I just can’t imagine what he would come up with but it would be earth shaking! After WWFM on Idol, anything could happen.

mj has put up an evening 4/26 thread with some Adam stuff on it.

  223. okay who would spend $1900 on a concert ticket? I understand some people are rich enough that they can throw that type of $$$ around but still, WTF? I mean for that kind of $$$, why not pick one of the concert dates Adam is playing that you’ve never been before, where you can actually get a ticket for face value, then schedule a whole vacation around the concert date? That’s basically what I did last week with my vacation — the concert ticket itself cost a mere $60. I know that if the concert had been right near where I lived but cost $1900, there’s no way I would’ve spent that type of money.

But that’s just me. Maybe some people don’t care how much they have to pay just to see a 1-2 hour concert. If that’s the case, well, in the end, it’s their money. I don’t get it, but oh well…

  224. starlandNJ Adam Lambert just made history as one of the fastest-selling shows in Starland Ballroom history!

  225. My if was more in the vein of if he is popular enough to warrent the gig by the shows standards not about how he performed on the AMA’s. If that makes sense

  226. Loved that Fever!!! I wish they’d do away with the jazz hands!!!

  227. Yep, Fever was awesome tonight! Honestly, with all of those drops Adam was doing, I don’t know how he kept from splitting those tight pants wide open. :P LOL

I think the jazz hands are fun. :-)

lol I was thinking the same thing. Must be lycra.

I was just starting to doze off (busy day at work) but the video revived me a bit. :)

  229. Fever and IIHY both sounded like he had backup singers, but it was the audience singing along! Wooohoooo!

  230. Love Fever and IIHY. The live performances are getting better and better. Adam looked really tall in these vid.

  231. Hmmm…. Music Again… Might be my imagination, but I think the pump was going in this one.

Studio, I think they were singing in Music Again too.

  232. Doesn’t it sound like the crowd is singing along with every vid we’ve seen so far? It is so fun to hear this. I’ll bet it’ll be the same way on his tour.
Studio57 I thought there were backup singers too! Someone in yesterday’s thread made me laugh when they said ” do you think Tommy and Monte could at least do some do do do do do do do’s in IIHY”.

  233. lol I was thinking the same thing. Must be lycra.

Didn’t that one interviewer teach us that lycra can, indeed, split?

What was her name? She was from one of those overseas countries that Adam is not a star in.

luval – HAHAHA! That was me who said that! When I go see him i am definitely going to be backup on IIHY.

  238. I couldn’t watch Music Again either. I need a better quality video.

@AOLRadio: Adam Lambert’s next single will be “If I Had You.” Starting to play it on New Pop First & Pop Idols. :-)

Studio57… Re: Music Again– just turn down the sound and watch the video! It’s worth it!

Absolutely. There were definitely a few of the adjustment dance moves in that one.

  243. Studio57….In the back of my mind I thought it just might be you!!! I’m going to try to go to Wilkes Barre and/or Foxwoods and/or Borgata. As you can see I’m on the East Coast. Don’t know where you are, but I will join you singing if you’re at one of these shows.
Also, I’m going to bring one or two boa’s and maybe a little whip (a whippet?). No one has done this at any of his shows recently. No matter where I’m sitting I’ll somehow get them to make their way to the stage. Of course, I won’t get them back, I know this, but I love seeing him play with this stuff!!

  244. @AOLRadio: Adam Lambert’s next single will be “If I Had You.” Starting to play it on New Pop First & Pop Idols.

    (moved from other thread)

Do we know when? I browsed both New Pop First & Pop Idols, IIHY is not there yet.

eta: i ended up watching IIHY on AOL session. I like his gray shirt.

  245. Wow….just wow. Fever was awesome. I love the intro he’s doing to IIHY now. One of the tweets said “freak” so that’s what I thought he said…..too funny. Unfiltered Adam….wouldn’t want it any other way.

Btw….how cute is Tommy flinging his head around in Fever? What a cutie.

Okay, ready for the tour now. :)

  246. Okay- I watched MA- now I want to see the Adam sandwich in high def :)

luval- I might try for Borgata if no Florida dates open soon. I might do both anyway ( that kids college fund still hasn’t been tapped out yet, although the 401k is toast) but everything is riding on whether he goes to Florida- if I do I will hunt you down and make you sing with me, lol.

  247. Mj
How come my post was moderated? It was on topic we have been talking about touring all day. It wasn’t directed at anyone, it was just alittle harmless snark. People post that stuff all the time and it stays up? And have posted similar snark to what I did all the time?
I don’t mind I just am unsure on which rule I broke. I don’t want to repeat the rule break since I like it here. I am just confused on which rule I broke.

  252. Can anyone tell what he’s saying at the beginning of MA? Then he says, “We appreciate it, we appreciate it.” I can’t quite make out the first part.

  253. How awesome was the crowd noise at the end of IIHY after Adam and band had left the stage. Clearly the crowd was wanting them to come back out. So happy for him.

I’m really hoping for a tour stop in DC. I might travel to NJ,PA or VA but I’m not willing to commit just yet. So fingers crossed. I have no idea how these things work but I’m wondering if the tour dates that aren’t yet announced are really just waiting for contracts to be finalized (before they get announced) or if they are holding off a little on committing to more dates until the see how well the initial sales go. Hoping he sells well enough that future venues are slightly larger and tickets won’t be quite so hard to get.

  254. I’m pretty sure that’s Cam the keyboard player sleeping on the couch by Tommy.

  255. I love the way Tommy comes in for his Adam back cuddle. :) Not sure Adam saw him at first. Tommy looked back and was like, Hey, you there? lol

I tend to think they’re just waiting for contracts to finalize. When I contacted the box office of my local venue it was the day after AO posted the date and they told me it had just finalized and wasn’t even hitting their website until the next week.

But seriously the album sounds kinda amateurish. I don’t know, it’s just weird and i don’t like it. Her voice annoys me a bit and generic songs. Something is seriously lacking.

Since they were taping the performance, sometimes they were louder than Adam in the video. :)

  271. IIHY from BACKSTAGE. I think this is my favorite!

Thanks for the link Studio57. It’s almost like it’s in black and white. I really like it too.

  272. But seriously the album sounds kinda amateurish. I don’t know, it’s just weird and i don’t like it. Her voice annoys me a bit and generic songs. Something is seriously lacking.

IA. I quit listening after 1.5 songs.

  273. When I think of Adam and his band playing at G-A-Y, which is a big deal, I think of Monte’s interview. A few years ago, he wanted to form a superband — a band with really great musicians and the best singer he could find. He thought they could live comfortably (not in luxury) by playing in LA area, SD and Las Vegas. It’s good he found Adam, and vice versa. In the end, Monte got more than he bargained for. They are already playing beyond LA, SD and Las Vegas. He doesn’t have all the same musicians, but he is still with Adam, and this is his new “superband”. I just love Adam and his band.

Monte sure doesn’t seem affected after playing with Madonna for nine years. It’s like he is living his dream all over again.

  278. Night baebae….I’m right behind you. Work comes early unfortunately. :(

  279. Wow taste is so subjective because I listened to the We are the Fallen Link and heard the whole album and I like it.

Here is the link for other: http://www.youtube.com/user/WeAreTheFallenClub#p/u/7/XAyakqHQG0E

I really liked Burn, Sleep Well my Angel, Bury Me Alive, I am only One, Tear the World Down, And St. John. The rest is ok but these are the ones that stood out right away for me. I am sure the more I listen the more I will like the others too. I think it is worth a listen for ones self to see what you think about it. I say very good. Oh and the cover of Madonna’s Like a Prayer is the one song I just don’t think fits. Interesting take but I could take it or leave it.

  280. Thanks for the link lach1!! I love it when he rocks out that song. I’m so psyched for his tour!

  281. My favorite part of that review that lorismile linked:

Adam took plenty of time to thank his ever faithful fans, spending periods just taking in all the cheers, cat calls and whistles that headed his way. Although a very charismatic performer there was no sense of arrogance, with the Idol star coming across as very likable.

And thanks lach1…I was hoping SW would show up this morning, and you delivered! :)

  282. Holy Moly….WWFM is STILL #10 in iTunes!! How great for him.

Okay…posting ho going to work now. :)

Going back to smeggs comment about an awards show. Can you imagine him singing Sleepwalker like he did last night at the AMAs, MTV awards or any other show??? Seriously, the dude kills that song live.

    Yes to the awards show!

I love the way everyone is singing along. Makes me want to sing with them.

You know, waiting for and watching all these videos is a little like when we waited for him every week on Idol to see what he’d do. He changes up the songs so often, I’m always thinking How is he going to do it this time?

  285. A bit of crotch filming in SW. Wonder if Marie was there? heh (I think it was Marie, our resident staring expert.)

No, I don’t think Strut was posted yet. Thanks!

  286. Well, off I go. I really have to stop watching these videos before work. I don’t know how I’m going to get any work done today.
