Idol Billboard Update for Issue 11/08/08

Here it is.   This week’s Idol Billboard Update….

Some highlights:

  • Carrie Underwood has had a good week.   Her album, Carnival Ride, jumped from 58-37 on the Billboard 200 and 12-7 on Top Country Albums.   Her single, “Just a Dream” hit the #1 spot on the Hot Country Songs chart and climbed 37-34 on the Hot 100.   The song is Carrie’s 7th #1.
  • David Cook’s upcoming album was made available for pre-order, with “Light On” as an automatic download.   That means it shot up the charts this week.   It re-entered the Hot 100 at #60, Hot Digital Tracks chart at 29 and Hot Digital Songs chart at #35. It climbs the Pop 100 – 57-51, Pop Airplay – 57-51 and Hot Adult Top 40 – 36-29 (it debuted their last week–HAC radio stations are picking up the song). “Time of My Life” continues to hold on to the #1 postion on Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks.
  • Jennifer Hudson’s album Jennifer Hudson remains in the Top 10 at #9 on the Billboard 200 and at #3 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Album.   The single, “Spotlight” debuts on Rhythmic Top 40 at #38.   It climbs 28-24 on the Hot 100, stays at #11 on Hot 100 Airplay, climbs 67-66 on Pop 100,   but loses its #1 position on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Airplay, 1-2.   It dips 5-6 on Mainstream R&B/Hip Hop but holds on to the #1 position on Hot Adult R&B Airplay.   Not that she cares about any of this right now…
  • David Archuleta’s “Crush” makes some small movements up the charts: Hot 100 – 21-20, Hot 100 Airplay, 41-41, Pop 100 – 15-16, Pop 100 Airplay – 16-15, Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks – 14-14, Mainstream Top 40 – 13-13,   Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks – 24-21, Hot Digital Tracks and Hot Digital Song – 16-16.
  • Jordin Sparks’ “One Step at a Time” debuts on Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks at #30.
  • Bucky Covington’s “I’ll Walk” makes it’s way to the Top 10 on Hot Country Songs – 15-12.
