In this week’s Glee, titled “Wonder-ful” the Glee club pays tribute to the legendary musician, Stevie Wonder.
Artie gets word that he has been accepted to his college of choice, but his mom could be a stumbling block. Rachel prepares for her second callback for Funny Girl, Mercedes and Mike return to help out with the upcoming Regionals competition. When Kurt comes back to check up on his cancer-stricken dad, there’s a Klaine reunion! In the meantime, Blaine reaches out to Burt about wanting to propose to Kurt.
Kate Hudson really surprised me this week, with a super fierce performance of “Uptight.” It would be impossible for Glee to pay tribute to Stevie Wonder without Amber Riley on hand, and she blows through TWO big songs this week, “Superstitious” and “Higher Ground”. Chris Colfer gets to sing a song that sits low in his register. Yeah, he’s got that sweet falsetto, but this performance shows off those lower notes. His range is incredible. Becca Tobin continues to impress. “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” is a nice blend of pop and soul. Kevin McHale shows off HIS soul chops on “For Once in my Life” and Jacob Artist and Melissa Benoist duet on “I Wish.”
