David Cook Leaves 19 Entertainment for Simon Fuller’s XIX

According to the Hollywood Reporter, David Cook has switched management. I can’t say that it surprises me.

American Idol Season 7 winner David Cook has left 19 Entertainment and signed with Simon Fuller’s XIX Entertainment, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. In May, Cook’s contract with 19’s management arm came up for renewal. With the option to re-sign with 19 or go elsewhere, the rocker made the move. He remains a 19 Recordings artist.

XIX also manages Carrie Underwood, Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina.

Idols still on 19E’s roster are American Idol winners Kris Allen and Lee DeWyze along with season 10 finalists Haley Reinhart, James Durbin, Pia Toscano and Stefano Langone.

In August Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert left 19 to sign with Direct Management Group. Chris Daughtry’s manager Stirling McIlwaine left 19 to open his own firm, taking his client with him.

I think it’s a good sign for David’s future that Simon Fuller is interested in signing him on. Very good, indeed.
