All week David Archuleta has been celebrating the 10 year anniversary of his debut single “Crush.” The song came out the summer after the 17 year old singer nabbed the runner-up spot on American Idol season 7. As a final celebratory gesture, David has released an acoustic performance of the song played on his beloved “Archie Piano.”
Before launching into the song, the self-effacing singer joked, “I can’t believe it’s been that long and I’m still wearing a Pikachu shirt!” He mentions that the apparel was a gift from one of his fans. “I guess I’ll never grow up,” David laughs.
“It has been so amazing to see all of you enjoying “Crush” and listening to it after all this time…” David adds. In the notes for the Youtube video David writes, “Ten years ago, I released my first single “Crush” and from that day on it changed my life forever. I can’t believe how fast a decade flies by!” David added, ” I do know one thing… and it’s that this memory ain’t goin’ away-ay-ay-ay-ayyyy.”
