Darren Criss has been walking in the shadow of Harry Potter star, Daniel Radcliffe for some time now. The Glee star played Harry in “A Very Potter Musical” parody, with Starkid, his University of Michigan theater troupe, and now, he has taken over the lead role from Dan for a 3 week Broadway run in How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. (VIA VH1)
Remarkably the stars had never met, until recently at a “Business” rehearsal, when the two finally got to shake hands. Darren was a little star struck, to say the least.
“It was actually a very poetic moment,” Darren told VH1 when he stopped by their offices, “I was on stage by myself at a break. There’s nothing as majestic as an empty theater, and I was kind of onstage going through some steps, and emerging from the shadows comes Dan. We had a nice exchange, and it was good to finally meet each other.”
“I’m only doing it for three weeks. … Him doing the show as much as he did and as well as he did is as much advice as I could ask for,” says Darren.
“He sent me a wonderful little message on my opening night,” he added of Dan’s continued support.
