  1. Wonderful video and moving, especially when the 250 or so children are shown. I had read that Melinda Doolittle was also among those participating in this project. So she would make for another Idol who took part. While I could not spot her among the many singers, she can be seen singing one of the lines, :-). I believe that she might have been out of town at a gig when the recording for the song was taking place. So she may have recorded her part separately and on a different day, much like some of the artists for “We Are the World” have done.

  2. I actually like this vid better than the “We Are The World” remake.

  3. Michael W Smith is a great song writer [ I love his song Friends] . He’s managed to get some terrific singers here & yes it has great effect when the children come in!!

  4. i got a much better impact from this video than we are the world.

  5. Wow – I am blown away – this is THE best video yet of ones for Haiti. Michael W. Smith is a great writer. SO good to see Chris Sligh several times – and boy does Mandisa look great! She is up for 3 Dove Awards this year. I hope this is her year! Thank you MJ for posting!

  6. I don’t know if this thread will get read any more due to newer entries, but I got a blog in a Google alert that reports that the song will be the lead track for a project put out by other Christian artists called “Healing4Haiti.” Mary Mary and Israel Houghton are among the artists taking part. It should be available March 2. Check out Samaritan’s Purse’s site or one named for this album project for more info.

  7. YES I saw that. Michael W. is great in his field and well respected.

  8. Wow, so beautiful! Thanks for your info. CFIdolsfan.

TBH, I haven’t even listened to the new “We are the World”.

  9. What a terrific video and song. It just flowed beautifully. Yes, this is much better than ‘We Are the World 25’ in that everyone can sing. Great seeing the Idols and how great they sounded.

    (Quincy Jones, please pay attention.)
