The reigning CMA Male and Female Vocalists of the Year, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, will host the Country Music Association Awards on Nov. 12 at Sommet Center. ABC will air the show live beginning at 7 p.m.
CMA chief Tammy Genovese said, “In addition to their musical talent, Brad’s quick wit and Carrie’s gracefulness will serve them well in this role. CMA is happy to offer both of them their first opportunity to host a nationally televised network awards show. “
Cute. Carrie and Brad are the reigning King and Queen of the prom, so to speak, so it kinda sorta makes sense. But Carrie Underwood hosting an awards show? She’s got a great set of pipes, but her personality isn’t exactly, uhm, animated, if you know what I mean.
Not as popular, but a more likely candidate would be the adorable Ms. Kellie Pickler, whose got the personality to pull it off. Ah, anyway, congrats to Carrie Underwood. That’s another feather in her hat. She’s got so many at this point, she might take flight.

And Carrie tells ET in a video interview, “Hopefully you will not see any wardrobe malfunction.” Tape em up, Carrie!
Not only is Carrie co-hosting the CMA’s this year, but she is also nominated for two awards: Album of the Year for Carnival Ride, and Female Vocalist of the Year.
