The American Idol premiere ratings led the night, but was down was down 0.4 from last season’s 3.3 premiere rating. If the numbers follow the past couple of years’ trajectory, it’s all downhill from here.

UPDATE: American Idol and Modern Family adjusted up 1/10th in the final ratings.  Mysteries of Laura shifted down 1/10th.
