American Idol 11 Top 13 – The Power List!

AMERICAN IDOL: Jessica sanchez performs in front of the Judges on AMERICAN IDOL airing Wednesday, March 7 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. CR: Michael Becker / FOX.

Here is my probably full-of-crap power list for the week! I have them ordered from most likely to least likely to win if the final was today.  You’ve seen my list…what’s yours?

1. Jessica Sanchez – Jessica is number 1 on this week’s list, no matter how you slice it. She’s got all the news buzz and is definitely the front runner at this point. It can be tricky to hold on to front runner status, however. We’ll see if Jessica can beat those odds.
2. Phil Phillips – He’s just the kind of contestant that Idol loves–a strummy guitar guy with a knack for re-arranging pop songs.  If he can keep things fresh, Phil could end up in the final.
3. Hollie Cavanagh –  Big voiced gal has a freaking big voice! She’s going to have to reveal some versatility to stay on top. She could be Pia’d.
4. Skylar Laine –  Heck yeah. Skylar is like a Kellie Pickler, but with a really really good voice.  The combo of appealing personality and great pipes could take her far. Her confident country take on Whitney puts her in the Top 5.
5. Colton Dixon – How nice for Colton that viewers got to hear him sing a bit of an original song. Viewers are getting a pretty clear idea of what type of artist Colton is.  Putting an angsty spin on a Stevie tune earned Colton mileage. But he’s going to have to stay on key and show some versatility to stay in it.
6. Deandre Brackensick –  Deandre revealed a whole other side of his talent last night–that he’s good on the uptempos. If he can continue to successfully mix it up, He could go far.
7. Erika Van Pelt –  I’ve got girlfriend way down at 7, because although she had one of the best performances of the night, her husky alto may be an acquired taste.  Plus, she performed early in the lineup.
8. Heejun Han –  Heejun is as loveable as ever, but he’s going to have to work hard on his vocals to keep up with the rest of this powerhouse bunch.
9. Jermaine Jones –  Jermaine may be a little too strange to appeal to viewers. His deep baritone comes off more like pop opera than pop and R&B. He’s going to have trouble finding his place in the competition. But I don’t think he’s going home this week.
10. Joshua Ledet – I love Joshua, and thought he put on a great show last night. But dang, he was first in the lineup.  I’m afraid he might have gotten lost in the shuffle. He could be in the bottom 2.
11. Jeremy Rosado –  His vocals are pretty forgettable. He may be the lowest vote getter of the guys.
12. Shannon Magrane – Shannon has demonstrated over and over again that she’s too young for this competition.  Her performance last night was a trainwreck, but she may get some pity votes and squeak by.
13. Elise Testone –  Which is why I think Elise and her stank face may be the lowest vote getter of the girls.  Not only did the judges dislike her, but her mentoring session with Jimmy and Mary got a negative edit. And there’s the way she scowled through her critique. I love Elise, but I think she’s in trouble.
