2016 Producers Guild Awards Winners: The Voice and The Big Short

producersguildawards

Awards season continues, as the 27th Annual Producers Guild Awards were held last night (Jan 23) at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. The guild celebrated producers from the worlds of both TV and Film.

As they did last year, The Voice producers won in the Competition Reality show category against shows such as Dancing with the Stars and Project Runway.  Over in the film category, much to the surprise of everybody in the room, The Big Short, Brad Pitt one of the producers, took the prize.

Entertainment Weekly notes the winner for best picture in the past 10 years has gone on to win the Best Picture Oscar eight times. Additionally, every PGA winner in the past 10 years that also garnered a screenplay and editing nomination from the academy (like The Big Short) wound up being the big winner on Oscar night.

Check out the full winners list below.
