I really hope Dami wins. But “And I am telling you”? Ugh. I hated the way the lyrics were sliced up and I still remember the Jennifer Holliday/Jessica Sanchez AI performance to which Dami was merely adequate in comparison. Somewhere along the way, Dannii did the same thing to Dami that she did to Stacey Solomon: make female singers become a R&B Diva regardless of the style they do best. Dami should have gone back to the One and Purple Rain performances and do pop/rock ballads; those were her definite highlights.

Anyways, thankfully she didn’t get thrown under the bus and AIATY is a showcase song, even if it isn’t her top style. So hopefully she will pull the votes. Really, as long as Jai doesn’t win, I will be happy.

Dami blew the others with her last song, Jai actually did really good apart from his meh/shrill winner single, Taylor was doing really well until he misses a full line of his final song and went miserable.

Hope Dami Im is gonna win.

Wow…such awful song choice on Dami’s part and/or that of her mentor.

On a night when everybody’s trying to prove they’re the ones who can make it in today’s music industry, she was singing overdone, 20+ year old songs. Meanwhile, Taylor and Jai’s (non winner’s single) songs were from 2002, 2010, 2010, and 2012.

Taylor’s winners single is so good! I can see that being a hit like “Home” from Phillip Phillips! Hope he pulls it out!

Taylor is my favorite but it seemed he forgot 2 lines of Blower’s Daughter
which is a major goof – please correct me, if I am wrong.
He did great on “Borrow My Heart” – hopefully, he’ll get to record it.

  • kcostell

Forgot 2 lines of Blower’s Daughter and seemed to have some major timing issues at the beginning of Some Nights (was there a problem with his monitor?).

  • macfae

I totally agree – so over used and very dated songs.
But not knowing the voting demographic there, I don’t know if it’s a minus or a plus for her.. ??

Dami won, Taylor runner up, Jai third.

  • I LOVE Britney

Dami won!! And I love her winning song!

  • Jason Gorny

So happy Dami won!! She may be the first international star to come out of X-Factor Australia. I can see her becoming popular here in America.

What a terrible final line-up. If I had to pick the one to win, I would pick the little boy, but just because he is cute to look at. Still too young.

The guy was blah and the old lady is just boring.

Not that it matters, XF Australia isn’t about producing international superstars. Outside USA and UK these talent shows produce only local stars in best case scenario.

“Outside USA and UK these talent shows produce only local stars in best case scenario.”

I think that is little unfair. I don’t think people understand how the music industry is operated. It is about the connection people have with your music, more than just appearing to be marketable. You can have the whole “package” and still can’t find the supposed fame you look for. This expectation to be an international superstar is a tall order, And what’s wrong with just being a local star? It’s hard enough as it is being a successful recording artist in your own niche market. Sure, it’s great to become much more than that, but the entertainment industry is a very difficult career to crack. These shows always give a false impression of how quickly you can become a star. It never gives you realistic expectations to how to handle the bumps and bruises of what it is like to be a music artist.

It is very easy to spot a star. To become one is a whole complex ball game that I think will always be hard to understand.

Taylor is the only one of the three that I could listen to for the rest of my days. Dami bores me and Jai, possibly in a few years, could do great things.

  • bostonred

So I guess One Direction is a bust. Save your cynicism.

  • Mateja Praznik

Umm, One Direction come from XF UK.
