    “XF (and The Voice) needs to let the contestants pick the songs
    themselves. If they don’t work, well then they don’t work. That’s life.
    But at least the contestants would succeed or fail performing songs they
    actually want to do, not stuff that is forced on them.”

    I totally agree, plus the decision on picking the songs also reveals a part of the contestants’ musical sensibilities.
