    I clicked on this only because I mixed up Tim with Alex Lambert, and thought it would be cool to hear since I think Alex sounds alot like Bruno. Imagine my horror when I realized it was Tim. OMG that was so horrible I can’t even.

    Why do singers post covers that just show all their short-comings and inabilities. I’m pretty tone deaf but even I could tell that Tim was flat. Score: D-

    I think it’s appropriate that a video ad for some violent game or movie called “Apocalypse” started playing when I clicked on the video. Machine gunfire > Tim’s singing.

    I don’t know about flat – but pretty bad – yes. It’s obvious he changed it up because he couldn’t possibly hit the higher notes properly. Ewwww!

    I was expecting something horrible after the posts above. After listening, much better than your descriptions. Maybe I have better ear buds, or my ear is just tuned in to recordings done with amateur equipment. (Yeah, watching you tube videos of 150+ Declaration tour stops will do that.) But I didn’t hear very many out of tune notes. Most were spot on.

    Cheese, I couldn’t listen to the whole thing, and I don’t even know what it’s really supposed to sound like…I tried distracting myself with marveling at the DIY studio set-up and thinking that Tim needed better toys before he put something on the web, but – no go. Did make me curious about who was Bruno Mars – but only a little.

    I’ve been spending so much effort trying to avoid triggering that “Apocalypse Now” rollover ad that I didn’t realize Francis Ford Coppola’s classic and controversial Vietnam War movie would be unfamiliar territory to some, though – I guess it is time for a re-issue in Blue Ray. It has been 30 years, and that’s the traditional time frame before things come back into mainstream style – often seen in fashion, and most frequently in music.

    Now, there’s a thought – Tim could look at what was going on in 1980, and try tweaking that into the 21st Century. Plenty of other people are. *chuckle*

    Not a huge Tim fan, but it wasn’t half bad. Heartfelt and sweet. Certainly not as talented as Bruno Mars, but few match that level of vocal. I kind of liked it.

    There’s a drum/tap on wood sound that sounds like someone’s knocking at the door for the whole song.

    His singing is okay, but why even do this? What’s the logic of covering a current hit, which doesn’t sound better or really different from the original, and putting it on youtube? It’s more proof that Tim has no vision and no musical identity. He’s an okay singer and seems like a nice guy, but unless he wants to play weddings as a career, music ain’t it.

    Poster, I finally got a moment to check that out. Now I know what it was supposed to sound like, and wonder why Tim would even go there, with nothing new to bring. I see I’m not the only one.

    BTW, the video was cute and clever, just as you said – using the unspooled tape for images had tinges of “Take On Me” – but in a fresh way – thanks for the recommendation!
