Watch “Edge of Glory”, the first music video from The Glee Project Season 2! The Glee Project premieres Tuesday, June 5 at 10/9c, on Oxygen.

The Glee Project, my favorite reality competition show last summer, was so much fun to blog, I couldn’t imagine passing it up, despite my very full reality show plate for the next few months.

Lea Michele will be the special guest mentor on the June 5th premiere. You can learn more about this year’s cast HERE. Some of you may remember Dani when she was a contestant last summer on America’s Got Talent. She was the Justin Bieber look-alike.

The two guys who pop up at the end of the video are judges –choreographer, Zach Woodley and Glee’s brilliant casting director, Robert Ulrich.

Last year’s winners, Damian McGinty and Samuel Larsen were both written into the show this season, but haven’t exactly become breakout stars.  Look for runner-up, Alex Newell to perform in drag with Vocal Adrenaline as they take on New Directions in Tuesday’s “Nationals” episode.  Lindsay Pearce, also a Season 1 runner-up,  fulfilled her two-episode prize earlier in the season. She was my favorite. I’d be thrilled if she joined the cast next year.

This year’s cast just doesn’t seem to have the same charisma as last year’s.

ETA: Lindsay was also my favourite – I’m glad they gave her character a way to come back next season, so hopefully this won’t be the last we see of her.

They’ve given Samuel a lot more to do than Damien.  Damien has been essentially a glorified extra for most of the Season.  But he outlasted his initial prize, so they must like him enough to keep him around.

It’s hard to tell from two minutes who the standout are going to be.  Dani was good — she connected without pushing too hard.  I instantly wanted to know what her story is as a character.

I like the guy with the red-and-black hair.  He looks exactly like a young John Leguizamo.  Which is weird because John Leguizamo looks like a young John Leguizamo, too.Right now the girls are mostly looking blonde.

And it looks like they really want someone who can step into Cory Monteith’s shoes — because the first three guys were cute and a little hunky.

Love this show so much!  Damian, Lindsay and Cameron were my favs last season. So sad that Cameron quit, he would of been the breakout star and he would of played the Christian role a lot better than Samuel in my opinion. He just seem more genuine. Wish Cameron would audition for another singing show. I miss him, lols. The writers didn’t do so well with the writing with Damian, he could of done a lot more. He is a cutie though. :)

The new cast looks interesting so I’m definitely watching.

I liked the gentleness of Samuel’s character (Joe) and hope he returns.  Quality of work often depends on what the writers write.  Yes, there are bound to be some gems in the new cast.

Yes, I was like “ah like Finn… and ooh there is another Finn”…  I am not sure whether this is a good thing… there is only one Cory Monteith and one dumb jock Finn… Ok for the jock type , but make him a different character…

I still remember the God Squad team meeting in “On my way” when Kurt (Chris Colfer) went into their meeting room. Kurt had different facial expressions in the short scene, but Joe Hart’s facial expression ( Samuel Larsen) in the more than one reaction shots were all the same !!

I just hope they don’t turn Damian’c character gay.. His character does look a lot like Kurt.
