I am loving all of this! So excited for Thursday! Can´t wait!
Carrie sounds fantastic and I believe she will blow people away not only with her singing but with her acting too.

  • undrwood9098

I understand that Carrie will be taking a nice holiday break and some downtime with her husband after this project is finished, but she needs to get back to the studio quickly. Her voice has never sounded as pristine as it does on this soundtrack.

I am so, incredibly excited for Dec. 5!

I have a hard time reconciling Carrie’s portrayal as the nanny with Julie Andrews in that role. Julie Andrews was phenomenal. I saw the special on the making of the live show and loved seeing the kids audition for the childrens’ roles. I’m amazed at how some kids are so off the charts talented.

great now i am going to have that lonely goatherd song suck in my head all day tommorow.. Feel bad for my cowokers lol.

  • Porfivor Nixon

    love Carrie

  • Loken980

Carrie’s head voice has never sounded better. Wow, this is incredible.

  • fuzzywuzzy

I enjoyed listening to these songs. Carrie sounds good. Looking forward to the live broadcast.

  • Sassycatz

The acting part of it is the problem. She really is no actress.

  • leilamaurizia

Oh you’ve seen the live broadcast? Lucky you, being able to time travel!

  • Sassycatz

Yes! I can tell the future! But actually, I watched that “Making of” show and they showed Carrie and the guy playing von Trapp do a couple of lines and I thought her delivery was flat. He did more with just a word or two than she did. I don’t think that’s a major indictment. She’s not an actress. Appearing in a film in a small role or doing some skits in a TV show is not the same as studying the craft over time and gaining a lot of experience over the years. It doesn’t always come naturally and not everyone can do it.

  • gem2477

Well, that’s why the rehearse, so they can get better. :)

  • gem2477

Love it. :) Carrie sounds amazing.

Are they going to release a DVD as well as a CD? For some reason, I thought the release wasn’t until Dec. 20th or something like that? I want to get this as a gift for the daughter of a friend — she’s into musical theater. But I’d rather get the DVD if it is coming out.

  • undrwood9098

Yes — DVD will be released Dec. 17.

  • Matthew Kitson

You’d think Carrie was a regular on Broadway listening to the soundtrack. Very good

  • BonnieDee

Totally disagree. I watched the “making of the Sound of Music” show that was on a week or two ago. Carrie’s acting was great, as was her dancing, and of course her singing was phenomenal. My first impression was that as big of a star as she is, she is going to somehow manage to become even more famous after this airs.

  • BonnieDee

I thought she was absolutely phenomenal on the “making of” show.

  • BonnieDee

    Can’t wait!

  • BonnieDee

When I watched the “making of” show, what I saw was the total package–a complete superstar. Her looks are riveting, her voice of course is out of this world, and her acting was strong. She is opening the door for other projects for herself, IMO.
