Today show correspondent and American Idol host, Ryan Seacrest sat in with the Today crew this morning to talk about the new American Idol judges’ panel.

When asked about the rumored “feuding” between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, Ryan weighed in,  “Nicki and Mariah, two very different, strong, powerful successful women on the panel. There are not too many dull moments between the two of them. But at the end of the day, we all hug and laugh and go home and get ready for another day,”

Also, Ryan said he could not imagine American Idol without veteran, Randy Jackson.

Ryan says the judges aren’t putting through as many contestants as you would think. But that’s not what I’m hearing.

Can. Ryan. Enunciate. His. Words. Any. Harder?

I have no problem with Mariah and Nicki disagreeing. It just means that they have strong opinions and aren’t afraid to back down, at the risk of offending another female.  Female judges should be able to have strong differences of opinion without everyone perceiving it as a catfight (or without it turning into a catfight!).

A catfight is exactly what the show needs.

Maybe they could have a big fight and scare Randy off the panel???
