Randy Travis Extremely Intoxicated in Church Fight (UPDATED)

Oh no. After his recent arrest for DUI, country singer, Randy Travis, is once again drunk and in trouble, according to TMZ.

More trouble for Randy Travis … TMZ has learned the embattled singer was involved in a FIGHT in a church parking lot in Texas early this morning.

Law enforcement sources tell us … cops responded to the church around 1 AM after receiving a tip about two men fighting in the parking lot.

We’re told Travis was taken to the hospital after the fight. One source tells us Randy appeared to be “extremely intoxicated.”

7:45 AM PT – The Plano Police Department tells TMZ … Travis was cited for simple assault. We’re told officials believe Randy was the primary aggressor.

Cops say … there was a “family argument” taking place between a husband and a wife … and Randy got involved.

Another man was involved in the fight, but cops say it wasn’t the husband.

Sad. I hope Randy hits bottom before it’s too late.

UPDATED: The Dallas Morning News reports that Randy WAS NOT DRUNK. But he does appear to have a girlfriend who is married. OOPS. The argument began between the girlfriend and her husband. Randy intervened and assaulted the man.  He was  “He was issued a citation for Class C simple assault, which in Texas can be anything from an an unwanted push to a strike that didn’t cause pain or injury. Everybody refused transport. Nobody wanted to go to hospital.” Read more at the Dallas News

     The eff is up w/this guy? All this drankin’ and fightin’ in church parking lots and running round butt booty nekkid makes for good comedy and country songs – if we didn’t see the tragedy that’s looming in the distance. Somebody needs to help this guy, as it’s obvious he can’t help himself.

    He chose to drink after 14 years of sobriety and nothing was going to change his mind.

    THIS. 

    I, too, went thru watching my best friend and husband destroy himself with addiction. We went thru counseling, rehab, ADD treatment, family intervention. 7 years I stayed with him because I remembered the best friend and lover. 

    Nothing worked. 

    Why? 

    Because he didn’t want to get well. That’s the bottom line. The peep has to want to get well. No wife/husband, court, family, church can FORCE the peep to get well. It has to come from within. 

    I finally figured out I was feeding the beast by being his crutch. Last time he contacted me, he was homeless and wanted money. I hung up the phone and changed my number.

    I am sorry to hear that you had to go through similar situation for yourself. It is heart wrenching reading it.   It is sad that good meaning family has so little power to help when the person in trouble is an adult.
