Season 9 American Idol alums, Katie Stevens and Tim Urban posted new covers to You Tube over the weekend. Check out Katie’s “I Have Nothing”, a tribute to the late Whitney Houston. And Tim covers “Marry Me” by Train.

    Katie could have gone really far if she was on season 10 and could even possibly have won season 11. Her voice has gotten much stronger. A shame.

    Katie sounds gorgeous! She’s been growing as an artist since we last saw her on Idol. Maybe she should try out for The Voice.

    They are 2 years removed from Idol and they are still posting cover song after cover song. Are neither of them working on original music? Because I don’t see how this helps them build a career.

    These were OK, nothing really exceptional though.  It seems like videos that kids put out to try to get ON AI, not videos to build on a career post Idol.  It seems like they’re near the same place they started at, kind of treading water, waiting to be ‘discovered’.  I find it kind of sad.  There are so many kids that are at least this talented if not more so, trying to get their Big Break.  Idol is supposed to be that break, but in reality, that’s only true for a select few.

    Katie has been writing (supposedly) – but hasn’t recorded any of the stuff she has written.  She’s been writing with David Hodges.

    Neither cover was really spectacular, in my opinion.  Both are talented enough, but luck is such a big part of the industry that I think they are both bound to end up as a couple of the unlucky ones.  Of course, I’ll always be grateful to Tim Urban for a favor he did for me once.  Good luck, kid.  :)

    Katie Stevena should’ve waited a few years to audition. Tim Urban still sucks. I hated Season Nine so much. UGH

    Oh Katie…
    First, don’t do Whitney.
    Second, if you do Whitney, change the song to make it interesting.
    Third, what are you wearing?  This video doesn’t do justice to your beautiful face or your body.
    Thus, in all, a waste of time.
    Skyscraper with Andrew G. was a much better showcase of ALL your talents.
