    A couple more Lauren notes:

Lauren performed a set at the Music Row mag offices last week. Music Row uploaded her acoustic performance of Barefoot & Buckwild to youtube, and IMO the acoustic version is much, much better than the studio version:

Another cowrite for Lauren has surfaced:

‘Beauty Queen’ (Lauren / Catt Gravitt / JT Harding / Rob Hawkins )

Catt Gravitt and JT Harding cowrote Jake Owen’s #1 country hit Alone With You. Rob Hawkins has a track record in CCM and cowrote Scars from Colton’s debut album.

Haley’s “Oh My” in a very slick looking Lifetime Channel promo

  • Incipit

Tusk, I saw that commercial when I was watching Project Runway on Thursday – Haley sounded very good, and I liked the way they incorporated the lyric into their promo. Pretty cool. And sync rights.

  • Tusk

Haley has always been behind “Oh My”, many of her fans think that that was a point of difference of opinion between she and Interscope. (It’s said that Interscope liked “Undone”, but Haley rarely performs it, despite it’s popularity among dancers due to it’s inclusion in the Step Up movie franchise)

For Haley’s fan’s it’s the ultimate example of ‘slow and steady wins the race” she’s been building the base for her career in the music industry at what seems, a snail’s pace…. it’s excrutiating….

BUT in two or so weeks we get a bunch of activity, I might be seeing at least 3 performances in the next month.
CityWalk, we got a sort of confirmation that Haley will actually be doing a set, not ‘only’ opening for Casey, as it was previously announced. (also ‘new music’ has been hinted from her camp …after the revelation that she recorded “Black Velvet’, we’re thinking maybe she might debut it here.)

Then 3 performances in Vegas at the Cosmopolitan. Her Keyboard player, Keith Phelps is apparently going to join her, but no word on her Bassist, Courtney Leonard, who has been touring with P2 and John Mayer

Finally, she will be performing in Wheeling, Ill with her parents where a number of her fans will be gathering …
So…. Not label or tour news, but she’s finally got some dates coming up so her fans will get to hear her live :D

The group matches the mark for the most Adult Pop Songs No. 1s, as well as Pop Songs top 10s among groups, with ‘Love Somebody’

Maroon 5 ties the record for the most No. 1s in the 17-year history of Billboard’s Nielsen BDS-based Adult Pop Songs chart, as “Love Somebody” rises 3-1. The song is the group’s eighth leader on the list.

The group equals the No. 1 output of P!nk, who notched her eighth chart champ with “Just Give Me a Reason” (featuring Nate Ruess) in May. Maroon 5 also ties P!nk’s mark for the most consecutive Adult Pop Songs No. 1s, with each act now riding an active streak of five leaders. (P!nk could pass Maroon 5 in both categories with new single “True Love” (featuring Lily Allen), which bounds 29-23 in its second week.)

Maroon 5 one-ups Katy Perry, who’s banked seven Adult Pop Songs No. 1s. Nickelback follows with five.

“Somebody” concurrently climbs 11-9 on Pop Songs, where it’s Maroon 5’s 11th top 10. (As on Adult Pop Songs, the group’s prior four singles have all reigned.) With the ascent, the band ties the Black Eyed Peas for the most top 10s among groups in the chart’s 20-year archives. Among groups, Backstreet Boys and ‘N Sync are next with nine top 10s apiece. (Rihanna leads all acts with 23 top 10s).

Also impressively, Maroon 5’s record label, Interscope Records, likewise matches a chart record as five of its promoted titles rank in the Pop Songs top 10. In addition to “Somebody” at No. 9, Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” (featuring T.I. and Pharrell) reigns for a third week; Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive” bullets at No. 3; Zedd’s “Clarity” (featuring Foxes) jumps 7-4; and Calvin Harris’ “I Need Your Love” (and Ellie Goulding) enters the top 10 (12-10). (Interscope is working “Need” jointly with Columbia Records.)

Before this week, Interscope was the last label to boast a 50% share of the Pop Songs top 10. The week of April 3, 2010, Lady Gaga’s “Telephone (featuring Beyonce) spent its second of four weeks at No. 1, followed by the Black Eyed Peas’ “Imma Be” (No. 2); Orianthi’s “According to You” (No. 4); Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” (No. 8); and Timbaland’s “Carry Out (featuring Justin Timberlake) (No. 9).

Prior to Interscope’s achievements, Island Def Jam claimed half the Pop Songs top 10 over eight weeks in 2005-06, while Zomba (now RCA Records) did so for three weeks in 2004.

I like “Spiderweb”, but Interscope has the talent to incorporate the most interesting songs in the deluxe version. Ugh!
    I want “Black Velvet”.
