Deandre Brackensick has dropped the new video for his single “Her Crazy.” In it, he gets to roll around a bit with a very pretty girl.

Speaking of pretty–DeAndre ain’t too shabby himself. Oooh. That hair!

Surprised. This is catchy, a little falsetto, but not overdone – good balance between chorus and verse, contagious beat, but also melodic – it’s an accessible song – and it doesn’t hurt to have a hot video to keep people’s attention. *snerk* – I hope it does well for Deandre.

    JMO.

Jess should of been the leading lady, but the video was actually well put together. It came out good for an Independent funded video. Looks as good as a major label video. The song is a solid record too.

Very nicely done. I hope this company can actually do something with Deandre.

I like it!!! I knew he was going to do well for himself, good job

Pretty indeed, I had to watch it twice, didn’t want to miss any of it. Deandre was one of my favorites that season, he’s got it all. He’s got a very unique sound. He’s damn good to look at. He can dance, and from the looks of the video he is very comfortable in his own skin, and in front of the camera, which loves him! Love this song, it makes me dance, and the video is a good match for the song. Good job dude! If he can just get a little press or attention, he can carve him out a nice little niche.

Nice job, Deandre! Fun song and video. Deandre was my favorite that season, hope to see more of him.

I have always loved Deandre! I was so upset when he didn’t get through the first time, and so happy when he made the next season. There is something so mesmerizing about him.

This is actually very nice. Good job, catchy hook, and he is a young little piece of eye candy too. Camera loves him.

“Jess should of been the leading lady,”

I understood that Deandre and Jessica called it quits (in the gf/bf sense) sometime in April? So that could have been awkward…

And I don’t think Deandre’s Label (Truth Records) and Jessica’s (Interscope/19) would share.

But there’s also the double standard and the fact that even though Jessica will be 18 in August – Deandre already is 18 as of last October…they can write a storyline for his video that has him waking up in bed with a girl. Heh. I doubt her management would let Jessica be in that scenario. smh.

Other than that, the video is cute, well put together, as you say – Cory Patrick, but the only instances of ‘her crazy’ I saw was the female lead flinging some easily avoided knick knacks at Deandre’s dodging form as he escaped. (Wait. Is he supposed to be the Bad Boy?) There were vignettes where something crazy ‘could’ have happened – I halfway kept expecting it to – but it never did. Not exactly edgy stuff – standard boy/girl cute. IMO.

IDK anything about Deandre’s label and management, but I hope they are equipped with the ‘Not Payola’ to move that track onto radio for him, and get him a pile of gigs – because I really think it could do well, given appropriate amounts of exposure, and of course, baksheesh.

I wasnt a huge fan but the song isnt all bad. He has a recognizable voice and has a look. He seems to be another artist being marketed with one name? Is that becoming an Idol tradition? First, Fantasia – then Stefano then Deandre. I guess it helps when you have a non traditional name…Not Sally or Johnny. But its still interesting. Hey at least the label put in money for a professional looking video; we’ll see how much promotion they give him too. But given the place he finished, hes getting a chance and thats always good. I dont think Stefano’s songs did that well so I wonder if its time till he gets dropped.

  • Ari

    Is she selling any records?

  • Incipit

Jessica? IDK exactly how she is doing, Ari, I don’t follow her genre at all, but yesterday’s Numbers thread has “Tonight” charting on POP.

I don’t even know if she and DeAndre are working the same musical lane. I don’t ‘think’ so, but I don’t know.

  • girlygirl

No, Not selling too many cds, but her single just cracked the Top 50 on the Mediabase Pop chart and is also in the Top 50 on the Spanish Contemporary chart.

  • Larc

It also helps just to use your first name only when you have a last name like “Brackensick.” How would that look on a venue marquee?

    “And I don’t think DeAndre’s Label (Truth Records) ”

I don’t know where I’ve been, but I didn’t know that DeAndre had been signed to a recording contract. A belated congrats to him!

  • Incipit

“I didn’t know that DeAndre had been signed to a recording contract.”

This is a relatively new development, fuzzywuzzy, and a new company. It popped up for me when I did some background searching for this song. Truth Records is “a division of Houston-based start-up Truth Entertainment, which produced forthcoming Oscar bait “The Dallas Buyers Club,” for Matthew McConaughey…”

I haven’t seen it mentioned elsewhere…but they have a website and appear to be a combination Publishing, Management and Recording House. They bill themselves as “An Independent Record Label poised to bring refreshing new talent to a dry and monotonous industry!”

    I do wish them success.

  • fuzzywuzzy

Thanks! That was some good sleuthing, Incipit.
