  • wordnerdarchie

    Wow, MJ you’re fast!

I love the concept, love the cover, love the man. I can’t wait to have this all in my grubby little hands.

  • tinawina

**calls police to get a restraining order on the ex boyfriend who keeps stalking me from adjoining rooms** :D

  • jlc

Looks like his right arm has been amputated. Don’t like.
Hope we get to see a smiling cover someday…getting tired of intense, angsty Cookie. Well, not tired of…just love the smile. :o)

  • Incipit

This is the upgrade I dithered over? What was I ‘Thinking!‘?

Friday the 13th has been remarkable lucky so far – piles of pics from last night, interviews promised, three videos and a Sneak Peek of the video for the single, along w/the story line – and then this – another evocative cover, with a companion title for “This Loud Morning” – “This Quiet Night”…promising fresh acoustic goodness!

And it’s not even noon here. Dayum.

  • Listening

Yeaaaaaaaaaahhhhh I love this David Cook Goodies bombardment day.

The album name is ingenious liking the pensive David covers we’ve been getting. There’s always two sides of a coin, people are now getting glimpses of thoughtful David as opposed to goofy he usually shows us.

  • IdolThoughts

I’m happy that they’re doing such a good job promoting David. Yay! Love the little bits of news, cover art, snippets etc. I’m hoping that his single picks up a little steam, or they quickly get something better out there. He’s such an awesome guy…I just want the best for him! He deserves it!

  • standtotheright

Hope we get to see a smiling cover someday…getting tired of intense, angsty Cookie

Well, if you were living an entire relationship through one 8-hour dream, you’d look pretty intense too. Heh.

I think the contrast with the other cover is intentional. I’m down with it.

  • nspiredbycook

I love this! This Loud Morning…This Quiet Night both from the lyrics of REM. Such a great concept.

  • Balance

Everytime I think that I could not possibly be more excited for this record release, they give us something new that raises my excitement level. I’m not sure how much more goodness I can take! Stop it, David! (don’t stop)

Love the album title, love the acoustic EP title, love the video peek. Love everything about this rollout so far. Did I mention how much I love it?

  • jtgraffix

don’t like the brown to white gradient on his name. at least back it up with a drop shadow or something so it doesn’t look…well…flat. still getting the EP!

  • Incipit

Well, not tired of…just love the smile

jlchere ya go – it wouldn’t work for these covers – but it”s David too, KWIM? *wink*

  • Curlin

Love the title and the pics not bad either. Can’t wait to find out which songs will be on the EP!

Inspiredbycook, when I see the care and thought put into this album, I wonder at the first one, made in four and a half months – I think David let a lot of detail go by, so he could concentrate on the music for that one.

This time – as he said, there was time…time for him to make choices, and time to be involved in every aspect. (To RCA’s chagrin? *snerk*)

I like what the difference is bringing!

  • Carlinha

Pre-ordered it. I like the title and cover.

  • progression

Much better than the deluxe edition cover, IMO. The contrasting titles between the albums is very Cookian, which is cool. I like he’s getting to put his stamp on it.

  • Listening

When they say never heard before acoustic songs do they mean by the majority of people or actually EVERYBODY. I say that b/c many of us hardcore David Cook fans have heard the acoustic songs performed at radio gigs but the larger viewer public haven’t.

So going from that songs not on This Quiet Night are Paper Heart and the Last Goodbye, can’t wait to find out the songs either they’re going to sound so cool.

Inspiredbycook, you’re right David totally loved the fact that he didn’t have any time limit. He relished every second of it having the time to focus on minute details and change it if he wished must have been refreshing.

  • May

    Very Cool! Can’t wait.

I think they mean “these specific tracks” were never heard before because these tracks were recorded this week (per RCA Ed).

OR maybe the acoustic tracks will be songs NOT on TLM (doubt it, wishful thinking)

  • Keel

Give me one more quiet night before this loud morning gets it right and does me in.

Ooh, that’s very nice wordplay, Mr. Cook.

  • sunchick

You know it’s nighttime cuz Cookie took off his jacket and tie. Bwah. :D

*pets super duper pre-order upgrade with long-awaited much hoped for acoustic EP* Soon, my precious. Very soon.

Dig the wordplay with the title, dig the picture cuz it looks like we are peeking at him from behind a door which is kind of a cool visual. Other random, likely insignificant observation: the purple-ish black ombre effect on the font from TLM reminded me of dawn, while the gold-ish brown ombre effect on the font of TQL reminds me of dusk.

  • Mtlfan

very cool. I want to listen when it’s released

Sunchick, I don’t think those are insignificant observations. The colors are different – and people w/graphic arts degree backgrounds don’t do random effects, In My Experience. (I have one of those. People, I mean.)

They are meant to remind you of something – and I’d agree – in conjunction w/the titles – it suggests dusk and dawn, along with the darkened interior shot for the quiet night contrasting w/the sunlight of the loud morning. Also. Facial Expressions. Ambiance Re-inforcements.

    IMO. Of Course.

  • unidentified

I am loving this roll out. Something new every couple days or more.

I like the cover. Looks like he just came out of a cabin and standing there holding the screen door.

    Love the name deal too.

  • cookmerized

So happy for cookie that things are starting to roll. So happy for me that I’m getting an acoustic set along with the new album. I really do hope that these next few months are all he wants them to be. And I really really really hope that I get to see him sing time marches on live in a city near me!!

  • _nyanyanie

i can look at this album cover the whole day.. wow!
very good title!! and the fact that this loud morning and this quiet night came from one line from one song… awesome!!

  • nspiredbycook

Incipit~Sorry, just saw your response to me. I so agree how hard it probably was for David to give up a lot of the “details” on that 1st album. I am so excited for him that he gets to be involved with so much this time around!
Sunchick~Great observation on the color schemes. I could very well see David thinking about that when designing the artwork. This has been a fun day. Oh, and I haven’t seen much angsting involved with this album cover. LOL.

  • spanishfan

That would be my fervent wish – to hear him sing live. I live so far away in Spain but I have been in awe of his voice since I first heard him on AI 3 years ago and since then have followed him throughout all his first album and the writing of his second. I cannot believe how his voice is become even richer now. I love all the songs but I think Time Marches On is special. Light and Dark. Typical Cook.

  • iani

It’s hard for many to rich to his live performances! And with that matador concentrated, look, (I’ve posted right after spanishfan, lol), it’s hard to have a quiet night too. Killer again!(everything in a good way!)

  • jessabean

I hate to be one of these, but GAWD he’s hot!

  • tierbee

I am so late I missed the party completely, sniff, but I LOVE the picture here and oh man do I ever want to get my paws on this EP.

Though… I did say I’d give my right arm if I could get AcousticDave so… I hope I don’t have to pay up?
