Danielle Bradbery’s “My Day” to be Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics Theme (AUDIO)

What a great break for The Voice winner, Danielle Bradbery. According to a Facebook post, from songwriter, Mallory Hope, her song “My Day” which appears on Danielle’s self-titled debut, will appear in an ad promoting NBC’s Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics coverage.

The first ad will appear tonight.

I am so excited and thankful that my song “My Day” recorded by Danielle Bradbery (winner of the voice) will be the “Theme Song” for the 2014 Winter Olympics. The first commercial will air tonight on NBC during the voice. I have a show in Dallas so I will miss it. Baby you better hit record on the DVR for me. Huge thanks to Allison Jones and everyone at Big Machine for believing in my song and allowing DB to cut it. When I wrote this song 5 years ago and recorded it, I told everyone I knew that if I ever got the chance to make a video I could see the vision in my head of what I would want. I wanted to incorporate scenes from The biggest loser, breast cancer walks, soldiers returning home from war, kids graduating & yes even the Olympics. I tried, but couldn’t bring my dreams to reality now I understand why. It wasn’t meant for me.. It wasn’t (yes wait for it) “My Day” it is her day. It is pretty amazing how someone else can help make your dreams come true. Even after you thought your moment had passed. So very very happy at this moment.

Congrats Danielle! Fantastic promotion. After the success of American Idol winner, Phillip Phillips’ “Home” during the 2012 summer Olympics, NBC is finally promoting their own reality contestants.

From the NBC press release:

NBC Olympics has partnered with the Emmy Award-winning program “The Voice” to create a joint promotional campaign featuring Season Four winner Danielle Bradbery. The campaign, which debuts tonight on “The Voice” at 9 p.m. ET on NBC, is built around Bradbery’s performance of her song “My Day,” which captures the inspirational message of the Olympic Games, and is interspersed with footage of Olympic athletes.

Promotional spots of varying length — 30-second, 60-second and song-length versions — will air across NBCUniversal’s family of networks in the weeks leading into the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia. “My Day” is featured on Bradbery’s self-titled debut album, which was released on November 25.
