Chris Colfer, Darren Criss – Struck By Lightning Premiere (Photo)

The new film, Struck by Lightning, written and starring Glee star and multi-hyphenate, Chris Colfer, had it’s Los Angeles premiere last night (Jan 6) Via Hollywood Reporter

Not only did Chris’s fellow SLB co-stars such as Sarah Hyland, Dermot Mulroney, Rebel Wilson, Ashley Rickards, Angela Kinsey and Roberto Aguire join him on the red carpet, but Glee co-stars, Darren Criss, Dot Marie Jones and Harry Shum Jr. were there too!

Here’s what Darren Criss had to say about attending the premiere:

“When I see anything that my friends are in, much less a few friends, my meter of what I like is completely blown out of proportion because I’m just like, ‘Yay! Go Chris!'” Criss told The Hollywood Reporter at the after party, held at EDEN. “Chris is such force of nature and I was so proud of him and what he created and what he’s done and his honesty with his life and the way he works. It’s really inspiring. So yes, yes I did enjoy it very much.”

Criss added that having the chance “to see the fruits of his labor was something I wouldn’t miss.”

Aw. Klaine forevah!

Chris introduced the show modestly to the audience, “I hope you guys like it,” he said, “My parents like it.”

Have you seen Struck By Lightning? What did you think? Here’s a confession. I haven’t seen the movie yet. I KNOW. To be honest, a movie about a high school kid who is robbed of his potential (Chris’s character is killed within the first 5 minutes, and then narrates the last few months of his life) seems a little…depressing? I wanted to at least wait until the holidays are over until I broke out the tissues.

Struck By Lightning is available for streaming on iTunes, You Tube, Amazon and On Demand.

I saw Struck by Lightning. I wasn’t entirely sure what I would think, but I loved it! It is amazing that Chris wrote, produced and starred in it! I am now reading the book that is based on the story. It is actually Carson’s journal, so it is completely from his point of view!

I was so pleased to see so many of Chris’s Glee cohorts to come support him. And I am really surprised Darren and Chris posed for pictures together. That RARELY happens!

This guy going to be a force in the industry; so glad he starts early as this will give the audience lots to look forward to (hoping he has a longggggggggg life) :)

I watched SBL a week or so ago via On Demand.  Great movie – he’s done a wonderful job!  For those of us who live in Chris’ hometown, I absolutely loved all the subtle “local” references and sight gags.

There is lots of humorous dialogue, plus some very touching scenes.  Overall, I enjoyed it, and will probably watch it again.

Yeah, remember the Trevor Project picture ? Chris’ BFF Ashley Fink stood between Chris and Darren… As MJ pointed out a few threads ago… It seems that the actors  want to avoid that fans  project Klaine on CrissColfer and root for a Darren and Chris romance hehehe… Then again,  fans  root for them anyway and there is always photoshop.

I haven’t seen the movie, but what I like most from the reviews is that Carson as the main character, is not determined by his sexuality and/or love life… He is neutral which is a contrast to his schoolmates…

I saw in a spoiler a more complete clip when Carson hit the sign…. heartbreaking…

Fun to hear Chris talking in a “slightly lower than Chris Colfer” pitch… he sounds more like an sarcastic/angry youngster…He does sometimes speak a bit too fast for my non-american ear though. A nice difference though from soft spoken Kurt.

Yeah, he started early behind the scenes because he said he was afraid to be obsolete as an actor at the age of 25 !

Personally I don’t agree with him… but I don’t mind watching him evolve into a better version of Ryan Murphy… Still am wondering though… who started earlier about the idea of a story in an asylum ? Chris Colfer’s 2nd movie that will be shot in 2013, is going to take place in an asylum and Ryan Murphy’s current American Horror Story takes place in an asylum… hhmmm

Saw a lovely picture of Darren, Chris and Max together at the premiere floating somewhere on internet…

Wished that the character Karofsky (played by Max Adler) comes back to Glee…Oh well, wishful thinking I guess…

Promo clip about the movie… Chris talking what people should do if they like him or if they don’t like him…

Saw you movie. Loved it. It’s good writing, funny and acting was superb. My sis (not a Chris fan) though it was good as well. Liked the message of the show. It’s mature in a high school setting.

Picture of Darren Criss , Chris Colfer and Max Adler together… from the tumblr chriscolfernews..

Maybe it is more mature because as we know, Chris Colfer has an “old soul”  :-)
