American Idol Judges Panel Will Be Announced on 9/22

Fox announced this afternoon in a press release that Idol host Ryan Seacrest will FINALLY introduce the judges panel at a press conference at the Forum in Los Angeles on Wednesday September 22, Noon PT. Idol producers will also be present at the big reveal.

Ryan Seacrest tweeted: “Looks like I have some new plans on wed! I will be able to introduce the @AmericanIdol judges panel! We will send u a pic! Can’t wait”

It’s expected that the announcement will confirm what we’ve heard in countless reports, that Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler will join Randy Jackson on the Season 10 judges’ panel.

Interscope/Geffen/A&M Records chairmain Jimmy Iovine–is also expected to play a role on the show.  Parent company UMG will distribute Idol music for 19 Recordings beginning in Season 10.

Erm. Does anybody care? The producers dragged out the announcement too long. At this point, the reveal is anti-climatic.

    Sadly, I’m an Idoloonie and I do care! But, it’s been truly ridiculous with the back and forth all summer. For once, I’d rather have NO news about these judges.

    Watch Ryan come out on Wednesday and announce that the judging panel is Paula Abdul, Harry Connick, Jr. and Shania Twain. Wouldn’t that be the biggest shocker in AI history?

    Care? Not really. My interest in the judges, whoever they are, wlll start and stop with their ability to give constructive, informed criticism, and convince me, even if it isn’t totally so – that they’re mostly agenda-free. No more Fuster Clucks like the last few, when it was all about the judges, and useless, contradictory or convenient critiques. We won’t know that til we see them in action…then I’ll care. Maybe.

    But the odds against that happening are high.
