Men I can’t believe that I thought he was somehow handsome.

  • mmb

Adam, I luv ya, but this is NOT a good look. Please change it before the Grammy’s…..

  • renataamelo

Not really a fan of the poncho BUT I´m kind of loving his long hair!
    He´s never boring hehehe!

  • lorismile

I love his longer hair. I don’t hate the poncho but I don’t love it either.

Are those the pants he wore on Idol when he sang Whole Lotta Love?

Can’t wait to see what his hair will look like for the Grammys. I don’t think we have to worry he’ll wear a poncho there…lol

  • Barometz02

Adam seriously needs a hair cut. That long hair style doesn’t suit him well.

  • kidding

Adam’s friend and make-up artist Sutan is participating in RuPaul’s Drag Race this season.

@adamlambert @TommyJoeRatliff @TerranceDlibra @TaylorG90 I love you guys for supporting me on such an amazing evening!! Love my glamily!!

  • Canadian Girl

Yay, Adam came out of hiding. I don’t mind his look for now. I know he’ll be dressed to the nine for the Grammy’s but who knows what he’ll do with his hair. I don’t mind the length but I’m not a fan of him parting it in the middle. I’m sure like his facial hair, it will disappear eventually and we’ll have another look.

  • Studio57

I say this as a mother who will literally hide her kids’ hideous clothes so they cannot wear them again- this is truly awful.

Still love ya Adam. I’m gonna give him the benefit of the doubt and say he is still living out of boxes since he just moved into a house. Yep. that is the story and I am sticking to it.

ETA: It reminds me of something Val Kilmer or Steven Seagal would wear.

  • adamized

Ok. As my mother used to say “you have such a pretty face but who can see it with your hair hanging all over it”. I’m ready for a new “do”. This is the first time I can say it looks like he just threw something together at the last minute. Maybe he hasn’t unpacked his clothes yet.

  • adamized

Hah Studio57 we posted at the same time. Great minds think alike.

  • sr4mjc

I love the long hair, the poncho not so much. Only because it does zero for him. I think those are the Whole Lotta Love jeans!

It’s nice to see him out supporting his friends. Good to see Tommy, Terrance and Taylor as well. And best of all Adam looks happy. Interested to see what he’ll do for Grammy night as well.

ETA: I’m going with, ‘you never want to upstage the drag queens on their big night’ ;)

  • fuzzywuzzy

This is my least favorite Adam look so far. Really dislike the hair and the outfit. I hope that he restyles his hair for the Grammy’s.

  • lorismile

So I looked them up and I do believe I was right (and I think that means I know way too much!!!)

Here’s a pic of him when he sang WLL on Idol. http://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/gallery/total-rock-star/

The man does like to recycle his clothes! I really like his hair! Wish my hair was as thick and gorgeous.

He really does look happy and relaxed. :-)

    He looks awful!

Here’s a twitpic of Adam and one of the “contestants” I think.

  • loveroftalent

I love the look. Give me old time rocker look anyday. I am enjoying it for now, because I’m sure it will be changed soon enough.

  • Barometz02

He is a good-looking guy when he is not made up. When he wears less make up, his face looks so much younger, fresher. I will never quite understand his constant need to wear all that make up and clothes. Getting all glam-uped for a performance I get, but he has so much stuff on most of the time. And it sometimes makes him look fugly & old. It irritates me because he is actually not a bad looking guy.

  • abbysee

I don’t mind the hair, but that poncho? Gotta say Adam has a sense of humor, lol.

  • koshka

I love you BB… but really? That poncho looks like a plastic garbage bag. Have you been talking to that other Lambert lately?

I pray he cuts his hair by the Grammys. Fortunately his looks will change, I just need to wait.

  • Chicagolaw

Oh no!!!I don’t like ANY of it, lol! A leather poncho???
ETA, he has rocked longer hair in the past, so I don’t know what it is about the the current look I don’t like; maybe it seems too styled?

Keeping the faith that he gets it right for the Grammys :) Thankfully, his look changes constantly so nothing gets me too worked up anymore. Oh, and glad he was able to support Sutan.

  • Jae

yeah yeah, the poncho not his best look but other wise, still digging the long hair. :)

  • sr4mjc

I’m getting a kick out of some of the new contributions to the charity page. LOL

This donation is in honor of Adam’s poncho.

Birthday schmirthday..this is Simply in appreciation for the monumental joy your fashion on the Drag Race Red Carpet has brought me tonight. Please…NEVER. CHANGE.

  • Planet Fierce

This man knows how to rock a look and I don’t care what it is!!! Throw in a couple of extensions, let his hair down(after months of non stop styling), put him in a poncho for Christ’s sake and he is so freakin’ hot..amazing. It’s kinda perfect for what seems to be a little hippy thing he’s got going on right now. There are a couple of really amazing shots in the pics above…wow! That twit pic is a lot of fun…yum! He just exudes sensuality out of every pore, and then he just happens to have the best pair of lips on the planet….UNF He never ceases to intrigue me and keep me wanting more, but he NEVER disappoints because I expect him to change it up, glam it up, surprise me every time. He loves to dress up and he will take advantage of every opportunity to do so….LOVE IT and can’t wait to see what’s next. Wait til the next tour, hang on to your hats peeps!!!

  • aa618892

Planet Fierce I a am totally with you! He looks hot to me no matter what because his attitude is “you don’t like it? too bad”. Adam does what he wants and dresses the way he wants and does it confidently and THAT is sexy. Last year he was all glitter glam on the red carpet and now he is all hippie. You just don’t know what to expect and I love that. Isn’t this Monte’s Fantasy Springs poncho, BTW? I like his hair long with no product on it, the better to fantasize running my fingers through it, LOL.

  • bigd13

It’s funny I thought he was dressed in drag but this is how he looks normally.

  • sr4mjc

    LMAO Cartoon

Adam, I may not love every look, but thanks for keeping me constantly entertained by your crazy ass.

I quite like the last photo, he looks happy.

  • sr4mjc

It’s funny I thought he was dressed in drag but this is how he looks normally.

The beautiful ladies last night would take offense to Adam being called ‘in drag’. He’s not even close, nor is he trying to be ;)

  • TXsunshine001

I am not hating the look. Think I may have to run my fingers up & down the poncho to see how it feels before I decide, same with the hair. I ve see older photos of him in the poncho so again it must be something he’s attached too. I am also going with ” dont upstage the drag queens on their night theory”. So nice to see all the boys out together , must of made Sutan very happy to have all this support.

  • aislinn

Loving the free-wheeling hippy stylings. He’s certainly never boring! :D

aa618892 That is the poncho that Monte wore at Fantasy Springs, but Adam’s worn it before too.

  • loveroftalent

I agree with everything in your post Planet Fierce. I have always wished I wasn’t so insecure to try new things. I love that about Adam. I know he gets put down alot because of him being gay and saying that he is too girly but to me he is way more man and handsome than most of the guys I know.

No matter what look he has going on, there is this positive energy that always shines through.

  • Moria Polonius

Screw the poncho, I want the bracelets.

  • Dakota01

Adam looks great! I love his hair long. He looks happy and rested in those pics. I can’t wait to see what look he’ll be rockin’ at the Grammy’s. You know it will be completely different from the look in these pics. That’s what’s so much fun about Adam … he is always full of surprises.

  • aa618892

I am not hating the look. Think I may have to run my fingers up & down the poncho to see how it feels before I decide, same with the hair.

Haha! Yes, I believe this look requires further investigation. This man is so entertaining. Do you suppose this is an indication of a new direction musically? He has said the new album will have a more organic sound.

  • https://twitter.com/pmhowden undercooked

When I first saw the pic without reading the headline, I thought Adam was wearing a smock from a hair salon and the story was about Adam getting a haircut.

Actually, the more I look at it the more I like it. I have a feeling the outfit looks better in person. Kind of undecided on the hair.

  • FREIDAG

I love love love the look! The leather poncho is amazing. He wore it on his Asian promo tour last year I think but Twitter pics show he’s had it longer than that. He looks great. Never boring, always hot. And his face and smile are beautiful.

Asian In Rock poncho pics: http://i.imgur.com/ogbgI.jpg

Thanks for posting all the pics MJ!

  • zuper

The beautiful ladies last night would take offense to Adam being called ‘in drag’.

sr4mjc – Agree 100%. One question though. Look at some of the pics that show his upper body. If you look at the lighting on the poncho and the way the necklaces hang, doesn’t it look like he is wearing…uhm…chest padding? Maybe it’s just the lighting. That said, I don’t care what he does with his hair – his head shots are beautiful.

  • Tess

Fedoras, feathers, leather, lace-ups and the list goes on and on. At least Adam isn’t strutting down a red carpet in a white T-shirt, baggy jeans, and tenny runners looking like he just pulled himself off the couch after watching a day full of mind numbing football games, beer, and pizza.

  • JazzRocks

Not my favorite look – the hair OR the poncho. But he always looks great to me. Hair? Clothes? Doesn’t matter because I adore the person he is and his incredible talent. And boy is he ever fun to follow!

Oh and what Tess said above!

  • cwm

At first I wasn’t so sure, but upon closer inspection, I like the whole hippy vibe he’s put together here. Some of the pictures are really great. Honestly, for me, the best part is that he confidently puts together the look he wants and doesn’t really give a rip what anyone else thinks. And that he always keeps us guessing, surprised, and entertained.

  • jan

Not a good look. I have seen some very good photos in the past but this look just doesn’t work. It’s even worse when photographed by amateur photographers. The make-up makes his face look bloated.

    Exhibit 1
    Exhibit 2

  • jpfan

Okay, that picture is pretty funny. Chest padding? That looks like man boobs to me. Probably the bad lighting.

I hope he keeps the long hair.

  • tls62

Totally agree with aa618892. To me, one of his sexiest attributes is his total confidence in himself. It oozes from every pore. IMO, that makes everything look good on him.

ETA: And the fact that Adam, TJ, Taylor and Terrance were there to support Sutan is so sweet.

  • https://twitter.com/pmhowden undercooked

Eh, Everyone takes a bad picture. Those pics usually end up on the cover of a tabloid or gossip magazine.

If the flash use is bad, the subject will look bad. I do think sometimes Adam dresses for stage lighting, which doesn’t always translate well when he is out on the street. But having said that, I do think he’s getting much better at finding the right makeup balance compared to the early pics post idol.

The hair looks great from the side. I think the part in the middle is what I am undecided on. The clothes look good.

    Totally agree with you, tls62!

The best part is that Adam just goes for it. And he pulls it off because he likes it, wears it with confidence, and doesn’t care whether anyone else likes it or not.

  • LoveDaRocker

    Ha ha ha ha ha.
    Entertaining for sure.
No such thing as bad press

  • jpfan

I think everyone has the potential to look bad in an outfit. For example put Adam in a black garbage bag and…oh wait, it looks like he already has one on in this picture.

  • CindyM

Haha, that crazy mofo!! Love the hair, eh on the poncho, love those jeans. Adam, you definitely keep me entertained with your badass self! Twitter was hilarious last night when each new picture was released.

  • tinawina
  • Truthiness

Oh honey. No no no. He needs someone to grab him and give him a make-over, stat! That hair is just atrocious. That outfit is hiddy, and not flattering. I mean it’s stupid looking. The shiny black metallic poncho with fringe? No part of that isn’t bad.

I hope he gets a new look before Grammys. Oh please oh please oh please.

  • Oksana2000

    Much ado about nothing..

The only Idol season I watched was S8. I actually plan on watching S10 because Steven Tyler is a similar spirit to Adam. Screw the PC shit and fly your freak flag proudly. I love that.

  • aa618892

It is so good to see the boys all together again to support Sutan. I love these pics more and more. Adam has such a deep widows peek, I have always found them fascinating on men and women. Terrence looks pretty hot too.

  • dhunken

    Its a look :-)

  • watt

I don’t mind his hair. I just don’t like his makeup style, especially his eyebrows. They are too dark and thick, and thus overshadow his beautiful eyes. He should try a more natural styling makeup.
But since I love him not because of his look so, do what you feel happy to do, Adam.

  • cheese

I wish I could un-see those photos. He kind of looks like a dementor from the neck down, I don’t understand the hair, and he apparently let Ke$ha do his eye makeup. Whatever floats his boat. I’m sure he thought he looked hot.

Yup the same here. As I posted somewhere else, I can’t wait to see Steven Tyler be his wacky self tonight. Don’t know about the entire season, time will tell.

  • sr4mjc

Funny thing is, it’s probably a pretty expensive leather poncho. But ponchos aren’t flattering on anyone. The look rocked better in Japan with the boots. Sadly, no fab boots here.

When wearing said black leather poncho, the flashbulbs must be taken into account. Or it does look shiny like a hefty bag. I kid because I love.

But Adam, thanks for being so thoughtful of your fellow friends to make sure they look their best. :) Always thinking of others, so sweet.

Twitter sure was fun last night.

tls62 – I also love he doesn’t give a shit attitude. Makes me smile.

    I think it’s fun.

    Its a look :-)

um…yes it is. Not a good one, IMHO.
Kind of a freaky resemblance to Michael Jackson. I do think that lighting is a big part of the problem, though.
And the costume is probably just that: a costume. Adam likes to play dress-up and this def seems like an occasion where dress-up is totally appropriate, but (as others have pointed out) he wouldn’t want to upstage the queens.
Agree with cheese that I would like to un-see the pix. There are countless gorgeous pix of Adam – even in a photo drought I didn’t need to see these.
But (also as others have said!) no need to worry. It’ll be different the next time we see him. Hope so, anyway.
Totally just one person’s opinion, though, and if others see this as hot, it’s all good!

  • Marie23

Love the man, but this is really not a good look for him, , don’t hate it but…um, yeah

  • aa618892

I think it is a great look just because he is so f***king comfortable and confident in it. I just realized he is not wearing gloves. Even his hands are sexy. I really like those bracelets.

  • TerBear14

I love Adam’s look from the neck up, free flowing hair, minimal makeup, and those freckly lips get me everytime. However, I am not a fan of the poncho and the too long pants, looks sloppy to me. But after months of always having to look his best I am sure Adam is enjoying dressing however he pleases and that is the way it should be. It sure is nice to see the guys together, especially Taylor, haven’t seen a pic of him in ages.

  • jumpstart

Hmm, wow. Ordinarily, I think Adam is quite attractive but I don’t care for this look at all.

  • tls62

There was a fashion article that I ran across on Twitter the other day stating that the pompadour will be in this year for men. Pretty funny since Adam rocked the pomp for over a year and appears to be done with it for now. Just wondering if the poncho will be in next year. Biebs probably has his people already looking for one in his size. Lol.

Yes! Yes! Yes! This is exactly what I love about the look. Whether I love it or not, it is Adam being free to be Adam! (I also think he might be trying to make a break from the Glam Nation look. New album, new beginnings, new looks!)

tls, I’m with you on this. And, btw, I love the hair and the outfit. In years past, I made all my own clothes so no one would have anything like them. And I was always striving to make a statement that I would wear what I liked. Thumbs Up, Adam!

I’m not sure these are the same pants as he wore on Idol. Similar, but I think different. JMO. Same thing with the poncho. This poncho just has the ends hanging loose, while the ones from earlier appeared to have fringe. But, I could be wrong.

  • nkd

When looking at the full length photo, I’m kind of liking the look! Like said, it’s one outfit. There will be something new next time we see him! He’s still in relaxed vacation mode, trying a new look.

Adam’s red carpet pics are at JustJared. I loved this comment there, especially the bolded part:

    Mikka @ 01/19/2011 at 2:36 am
I think it’s charming that he messes with his look and wears bizarro things. He’s not afraid of you not liking him. Who could possibly be afraid of others’ opinions and wear a leather fringed poncho?!??

LOL :-) Go for it Adam!

    http://justjared.buzznet.com/2011/01/19/adam-lambert-rupauls-drag-race-premiere/

  • marmom07

I feel very confident in saying we will not be seeing this look on the Grammy red carpet given how he changes things up. LOL Since he just wore this ensemble he will move it to the back of the closet to be recycled later. I see this as a “Adam off the clock” look. Besides if he always rocked one or two perfect looks we a) wouldn’t have anything to talk about, b) would get bored and take that look for granted, c) wouldn’t know how good we have it (it takes lows to know how good the highs are).

I love his “I don’t give a rat’s *ss what anyone thinks, Imma wear it cause I want to” attitude. I love seeing his hands (like the gloves, I just get tired of them). I love how close the crew seems to be in real life that they really do enjoy each others company (also that Tommy has been playing bass with Monty). I do think lighting and camera angles have a lot to do with how thin or puffy Adams face looks. I suspect it was an outfit that looked better in person than on camera.

  • smeggingnuts

I love that Just Jared talked about his B-Day charity and put a link to it in their article. Thats awesome.

And really when you think about it its pretty funny and awesome how what ever Adam does with his hair or his clothes it gets tons of attention. You go Adam! Like someone said above at least its not a barely recognizable variation on jeans, t-shirt, and tennis shoes.

Adam has that rock and roll spirit tht will not appeal to everyone and that is okay. But the rest of us get to enjoy it. Yay!

Not loving the make up – but the rest is fun. Love the long messy hair. Just love this crazy (smart) mf-er!

Has anyone studied out the pants for absolute verification that they’re the pants from Idol or not? Look similar, but I’m not sure. These look way longer. A cool retro pair of platforms would have rocked those pants. :)

I think the only standard for this type of event is “Don’t upstage the Drag Queens!” Could be why Adam covered up so much of his assets! LOOL!

I think he’s got that as a junk mail filter so it’s never delivered.

Love him! I am not anti-poncho, I just can’t see him under it. That is all.

  • Miss Chaos

I am afraid he is letting his hair grow out to achieve a look he may be going for, what the f**k that is heck if I know. Maybe his remark about 2011 is Gonna Rock is a clue, Rock n Roll, who knows.

    Cant wait for the Grammys.

  • Anmor

Goth hippy! Could be the basis for a great look, but I don’t think he’s quite got it down yet. Or, maybe it’s just that I don’t like ponchos on ANYBODY. I like the jewelry and the hair though.

Adam clearly wasn’t happy, and I can’t blame him. He had already posed for pics on the red carpet. I’m sure he just wanted to enjoy his friends without the paps intruding. I guess that’s the price to pay when you’re a star and the media is interested in everything you do and everything you wear.

  • TXsunshine001

Does anyone know who the guy running interfence is? I saw him at Club Nokia too. Adam did not look happy in this video. Is TayTay old enough to get into a bar?

    Here’s the arrival at Bardot:

Gotta say the poncho looks good in motion

  • tls62

That was a few uncomfortable seconds to watch since as a fan, you’d like him to be happy all of the time, but it is what it is. The flip side is walking out with no one taking any interest. I’m guessing he’s willing to give up a few seconds of dealing with annoying paps in return for his current star status and successful career. :)

  • Dakota01

I’m guessing he’s willing to give up a few seconds of dealing with annoying paps in return for his current star status and successful career.

    I would bet on it.

Why do I get the feeling that when the new season starts it is going to be all about Adam still? He is not going to let anyone forget him that is for sure. And that’s a good thing. I hope the press stays interested.

    ;-) ;-)

  • KayGee

I am not digging the long hair. I haven’t seen Adam in quite some time, but this is not the Adam I prefer to see.

When is his new CD coming out – now that is something I can get behind.

    Love Ya Adam

  • Studio57

The pics that After Elton posted are much better.

    http://ht.ly/1aW9XZ

Seriously not getting the drag queen comments though. Is that a way of saying he looks gay or something without actually saying it? Just curious.

And over 100 comments about his outfit? I’d say the poncho did it’s job :)

  • tls62

When is his new CD coming out – now that is something I can get behind.

He’s mentioned possibly a spring single with a summer album drop. Who knows if it will happen that quickly though.

  • smeggingnuts

Seriously not getting the drag queen comments though. Is that a way of saying he looks gay or something without actually saying it? Just curious.

That would be my guess maybe we should post some of the pictures of the actual Drag Queens.

  • kradamour

Re the segments of Adam arriving and leaving the event, the papcrap…Adam clearly wants to be famous for his talent, wants to entertain…but unlike many performers who crave the limelight and love being “celebrities”, Adam has always made it clear that although willing to do what is part of his job – posing, interviewing – and doing it with a good spirit and giving it his best – he is not interested in a celebrity limelight lifestyle. Plenty of famous peeps love the limelight, but not all. Obviously, not Adam.

  • koshka

Boy, I forgot how tall he is. He must have been wearing his boots.

  • sr4mjc

After Elton’s photos are so much better, lighting is everything.

Seriously not getting the drag queen comments though. Is that a way of saying he looks gay or something without actually saying it? Just curious.

Thank you. I feel like we’ve been fighting this battle since the album cover came out. Maybe longer.

  • Dakota01

Adam has always made it clear that although willing to do what is part of his job – posing, interviewing – and doing it with a good spirit and giving it his best – he is not interested in a celebrity limelight lifestyle.

That’s very true but sometimes the media doesn’t give you a choice as to whether you want to live a “celebrity limelight lifestyle.” The media is clearly interested in Adam. As another poster mentioned above, it’s certainly better than them not knowing his name or knowing who he is. I just hope that it never becomes too intrusive.

  • GreenHippo

How can you not love the man, Adam. He has us talking all the time. His clothes/hair/style are so out there, so different, most of us don’t get/like it. Which is exactly why we have a thread about it and why we’re talking about it. Yay \o/. I hope he never changes.
I for one am also tired of the same look everybody else “rocks” (NOT!)I commented to myself while watching the Golden Globes, how boring most of the men looked compared to the women. Adam surely is NOT boring.

  • luval

Just got home from work and took a better look at the photos. Love Adam in this look!!! Love the hippie vibe and I think he looks gorgeous. Koshka…I noticed how tall he was too. Towering over everyone. He is a rock god!! You go Adam!!!!!!

  • marmom07

I like Adam’s longer hair, especially the pictures that are more from the side rather than straight on.

I’m always conflicted about the pap photos and vids. I love getting little glimpses of real Adam especially when there is no real news (and won’t be for a while) but I do hate that he ends up living like a bug under the microscope. Re: the vid of him leaving, to me he looked like someone who had had a good time parting but now really wasn’t feeling very well and didn’t feel up to being “on” for the camera. I’m glad he has friends who know the drill and clearly were helping to keep the paps away.

  • marmom07

    Hi Luval!

Maybe I’m showing my age but I too dig the hippy look. I think the poncho looked better in the vid.

    ETA Hi Kradamour!

  • MusicMatt

Nothing I like better than a confident man who isn’t afraid to dress for himself….so few of those around. Loving Adam’s new look, not just because I find it attractive, but also because it clearly comes with a f*** you attitude that I absolutely love.

  • luval

marmom07…HI!!!! Oh yes, wanted to say that the poncho looked so much better when he was getting out of the limo. “Lighter” in a way. The fringe was floating around him.

  • cwm

^^ Love your post MusicMatt! Couldn’t agree more.

Adam sure gets people talking, that’s for sure.

Dang, though, I feel guilty after watching that video of Adam leaving. He clearly did not want to be filmed, but I just unfortunately gave a hit to those paps. It’s too bad that we can’t see whether or not it’s something we want to reward with a hit until we’ve given it a hit. :-(

  • sr4mjc

I’m still not totally on team Ponchohotass, but in a sea of glitter and glitz of drag on the red carpet, he sets himself apart again and gets the press. What did Paula say about being a quick study? ;)

WORST OUTFIT EVER–buttttt of course, adam’s still a god <3 haha jk
and its totally cool for him to be at a drag queen thing jmo i dont see anything wrong with it

ITA, cwm. I think we just have to mentally screen the source and figure that some sources are likely to be unfortunate for Adam, and avoid them.

“team Ponchohotass” too funny! Gotta say this is the very first of his looks that I haven’t loved. Loved the sporran/kilt, loved the Fantasy Springs “got my gay on” vibe, even LOLed over the beachwear. Even enjoyed the Colonel Sanders skinny bow tie look. I always am entertained by and generally like when he just wears what he wants and tries it out. But Michaael Jackson channeling Pocahontas…well…nvm.

But as we all have said…just wait a day or so and there will be something more to an individual’s taste!

(Hi back, marmom! Good to see lots of peeps here from the Adam tour threads!)

The writer asks: Where’s the masculinity in painting your nails and wearing mascara? Easy answer: it’s being man enough, having the balls enough, to paint your nails and wear mascara, regardless of what – in Lambert’s case – millions watching think, or, if you’re not him, regardless of what family, partners, friends, co-workers, strangers on the street think.

  • car

People would talk about Adam if he showed up at the event in jeans and a tee shirt. Oh the horror they would moan just before the collective meltdown. lol They will talk anyway so he might as well do whatever he wants. Which he does, thankfully.

  • JazzRocks

The poncho (and the hair) looked better in motion than in the stills. Still not loving it – it’s next to YHA in my least favorite looks. The other 1027 looks I’ve loved.
Yeah, I felt a little guilty watching the invasive video too. But did I stop? No. I didn’t feel THAT guilty! :)

  • tls62

it’s being man enough, having the balls enough,

Ahh, yes. The one thing we can all agree on. Balls, he’s got ‘em. :)

  • luval

Looking at the videos, Adam just stands out from all the rest of those people wearing Jeans, jackets, tee’s, even the drag queens. I know it’s an understatement but I just love his individuality!

  • marmom07

  • marmom07

Ok that’s twice my comment vanished must be something messed up in copy/paste block quote stuff so here goes with out the link.

Thanks for sharing that link sr4mjc:

Trying again. Thanks for the link. I really like the point they are making. The whole idea that men must conform to a narrowly defined set of “masculine-correct” behavior is dying a very slow death. How long have women been able to wear pants? Perhaps because there are times where it is clearly more practical or even a safety issue to not wear a dress. More and more men are becoming the primary care giver/ stay at home parent so things are changing. I don’t think it’s just a gay/ not gay issue. There are still so many who are uncomfortable viewing any sort of self expression that is out side of their definition of acceptable.

  • cwm

I also like this quote from that Shaun Proulx post that sr4mjc linked:

What is so wrong, so objectionable, about the female, that a guy like Adam Lambert can’t enjoy ‘feminine’ pleasures like nail polish and mascara? What’s so bad about being a girl that a guy can’t play that way if it appeals to him?

He hit the nail on the head. Ridicule of “gayness” or femininity in men is fundamentally misogynistic.

Exactly. Which is also my point of why is it so much more ok for women to dress like men than the other way around? I think Adam has the right idea…just keep doing it till it becomes familiar and doesn’t seem so strange to people.

  • jpfan

I’m pretty sure men have been dressing like women for a very long time. I think even back in Shakespeare’s time they did it. :)

^^ Exactly jpfan. In fact, it was celebrated. So I don’t know why it’s such a big deal to some now. Shaun Proulx makes that point too.

I also like this quote from him as well:

[Those in younger generations] are clearly shedding more and more the so antiquated notion that for a man to express anything feminine is wrong because it’s feminine, and even the notion that what surrounds us every day should be broken into male and female in the first place.

Sorry to say but I totally agree with you :-)

  • milwlovesadam

I see a wonderful sweet and loyal friend that attended an event. His close friends were there with him, Tommy, Terrance and Sutan. Sutan is part of the RuPaul show. I see a new look that goes with the new hair. Hippy Dippy, and free. No fierce leathers. No gloves.

    Age of Aquarius!!

This is not a Pocahontas look at all. It is Hippy-60′s. With a Glam twist.

There were real drag queens there. Adam is not one of them.

  • smartalek

No actually I don’t think drag queen is a way of saying he looks gay. That hair do does not look good and is too girly. I don’t know what he’s thinking. I really liked his styles on idol. Also the day I went to see him live at the cbs early show, he looked great. And I think it’s fine to “play dress up” to quote him, when he’s touring. But the look just for a regular day is kind of ridiculous. Also, it’s not the way to get fans. He has so much talent and he needs to make people pay attention to his voice more than his style.

  • marmom07

Ha ha in the vid of Adam arriving I had to laugh when he pulled up his pants after getting out of the car. The Poncho saved us from “plumber butt” lol gotta love guys wearin’ the low riders. If I’m not mistaken this was a glitter free night. Although what do you bet Adam is still finding and shedding glitter from the GNT.

  • marmom07

Also, it’s not the way to get fans. He has so much talent and he needs to make people pay attention to his voice more than his style.

I respectfully disagree. I think they go together and one does not take away from the other. For everyone who doesn’t like it there is someone who does. When his next album is out it will once again be about his voice and performing skills (which is visual as well as auditory). Why did he get invited to the GG gifting suites? Because of his style and peoples interest in him. It’s free advertising for the products and for the celebrities. Win/win. IMO

  • luval

So if the consensus is that he’s wearing hair extensions, it won’t take long to go back to his other hairstyles. But maybe they’re not extensions????

No matter. If he wants this look to be his regular day look, good for him. Life is too short. At the snap of your fingers, it can change. Look what happened a week ago Saturday in Tucson. Who cares what anyone else thinks. Do what you want, wear what you’d like as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone.

  • Tess

Also, it’s not the way to get fans.

Personally I don’t think the vast majority of peeps care one way or another how a “personality” dresses or doesn’t dress. Johnny Depp has been dressing weird for years and years and yet he is truly loved. And if someone is offended and decided not to be a “fan” because of how someone else decided to express themselves…that is just sad. But then there is definitely a segment of our society that feels that all people should dress and look and act like them to be accepted…thankfully, for me, I am not one of them.

  • milwlovesadam

I’m picturing a ponytail for the Grammy’s. Sitting on a stool. Monte next to him. Singing the acoustic WWFM. No fierce leather look. A soft brown leather jacket. Bell bottom pants, fantastic boots, hippy vibe. Rings. No nail polish. No pink lip gloss. Single hoop earring.

The voice fills the theater. And fills our hearts. Adam wins many fans. And wins a Grammy.

New look. New fans. And many many grateful fans here, flailing and crying. ‘Nuf said.

But he’s not dressed for just a “regular day.” He’s on the red carpet for a show about drag queens! LOL And Adam has said repeatedly that when he’s just kicking around on a regular day he does just wear t-shirts and jeans like anyone else. That’s typically what he wears to radio station interviews and stuff like that. This was an event, though.

Also, it’s not the way to get fans. He has so much talent and he needs to make people pay attention to his voice more than his style.

I appreciate your opinion but respectfully disagree. I think that Adam is a package artist and is increasingly being recognized for his style in addition to his voice. He himself has said that he likes to express himself musically, verbally, and visually. Just like his performances, his look is always different and new, and frequently unexpected and surprising.

By the way, I too loved his look on the Early Show. Probably one of my favorite looks for him ever. :-)

I understand what your saying, but Adam is not the type who really care about what others think of his hair or the way he dress. I remember he told Slezak, that if people don’t like him, his voice or his style, they can buy the other guys record. Adam don’t need everybody to like him, just enough to buy enough albums to keep his RCA off his back. Looking at his US sales and international sales, I think RCA can’t have any complaints.

  • milwlovesadam

    cwm: I totally agree.

But, I love the new look. Remember, it was me when we first saw the long hair, asking for a hippy look to go with the longer hair. Adam has said many times that should have grown up in the sixties, that he’s really a hippy down deep. I just love it.

Now, if the overall hair color was just a shade more brown, the eye makeup just a tad softer…….yummy.

  • marmom07

That sounds totally perfect, except (just in my ideal world haha ymmv) no ponytail or hippie vibe…it would be nice if it were more “tracks of my tears”-ish
haha adam can do whatever he wants of course, its just fun to guesss :P

not that he should change himself for fans, but if he wants more younger fans (i know old ones buy more music etc.) cutting his hair would be great because now with this new look i can see him not having as many top 40 hits and stuff…

basically, imho, he looks a lot cooler with emo hair XD

Oh yes, wanted to say that the poncho looked so much better when he was getting out of the limo. “Lighter” in a way. The fringe was floating around him.

I just got finished watching the video when Adam was arriving/leaving Bardot. I had posted earlier this morning that I didn’t think this poncho had fringe, but I am now aware that I was wrong–there definitely is fringe on the bottom. Lovin’ it!

  • marmom07

I think if we were to ask Adam he would probably say he’s never had a “regular” day in his life. LOL

  • luval

milw…am dreaming of your description of Adam at the grammys……PERFECT!!!!!!!

  • Planet Fierce

First of all, I am not in a position to determine what a regular day is for someone like Adam…who am I to say. Besides, he was on the red carpet at a drag queen competition…IMHO,there is nothing “regular” about that, so then one would think “irregular” attire (I know I am using poetic license here, so sue me, lol)is def suitable even required. I just LOVE that he is so polarizing in this way, and again to top it off, he is just so damn gorgeous. It’s a crime really, it is!!! I can’t quit smiling!!

  • Teri63

I’ve been reading over the comments about Adam’s new look for the past several days, and I just wanted to comment that I don’t really feel affected by it in that he could put a potato sack over his head, and I’d still think he’s awesome. I’m so enamored with the whole persona that a hairstyle/clothing style change here or there doesn’t really register until I see others commenting about it. After reading the many comments and closer scrutiny, though, I have to weigh in as one who actually likes his look. OK — maybe “like” isn’t completely accurate — I guess it would be more truthful to say that I get a kick out of his look no matter what he does. His flair for the bold and different is one of the things I respect most about him. He’s young, handsome and part of the Hollywood in-crowd, so why the hell not have a fun time and do whatever the hell he feels? You’re only young once, so go for it, is what I have to say! The thing I loved about him on Idol lives on: He’s never afraid to be himself in any circumstance.

  • cwm

That’s a great way to put it Teri63. This is not one of my favorite looks for Adam, but I don’t dislike it either. I too get a kick out of it — it’s bold and different and fun and the hippie vibe is very cool. :-)

  • http://photoshack.com/index.php?cat=25701 Ron

I’m in Club No-Likey. If such a Club doesn’t exist, I just created it. :-)

It doesn’t look to me as though Adam is wearing the hair[do] as much as the hair is wearing Adam! There’s simply too much of it. Not the length … the volume! It takes away from his facial features that I keep looking for in, around and among all that hair. Flatten it a bit and it “might” look better. No opinion on the poncho.

If Adam was to perform on the Grammy’s, I see him in a white tail coat, white bowtie, white vest and pants … all in white. I doubt very much anyone else at the Grammy’s will be in white tails. Then all he needs is a microphone a spotlight and Monte on guitar doing an acoustic WWFM. That’s my idea of perfect. :-)

  • cwm

Oh and I liked that little MTV interview that was posted upthread. Adam is always so gracious and well spoken. Loved how he gave due props to Steven Tyler and JLo. And it was fun to see him in a new interview again after such a long drought!

Thank you luval for finding this. It was at Heaven’s gala event. At least I was close saying “angel” :-) I can’t believe its been a year already.

Ron, I want to join your club. He looks older and a little unkempt with that mop of uncontroled hair. I still love him but hope it changes soon. I was around in the sixties and seventies and didn’t like long hair on guys then and I guess I haven’t changed. That ponchos been seen on him before and some say the pants were ones he wore on Idol doing WLL. Lots of good memories in his fandom.

  • lizland

He looks like the love child of Ace Young and Clay Aiken.

  • ComeBack2Me

    He looks hideous.

I love it that everyone is so glad to see Adam in the news they have to comment on what he wears and his hair style. It is just fun to see him looking rested and having a good time. Crossing my fingers for a Grammy performance and he can wear anything and I’ll be thrilled!

Not sure whether this is the right thread to post this, but Adam talked briefly on the red carpet about album #2! He says to expect the album in the fall, single in late summer, and that it will be “very pop, very rock, and maybe even a little dark”:

ETA: It will definitely be hard for me to wait until fall for new music from Adam, but I don’t want him to be rushed, so I guess can make peace with this schedule. ;-)

cwm: 01/19/2011 at 7:37 pm And it was fun to see him in a new interview again after such a long drought!

Yeah, it felt like drinking a glass of fresh mineral water after walking in the desert for 3 days without food and drink…

Adam’s look – he is still trendy, just look at the materials in his clothing. He is also taking a break between his huge tour and his next task – making his record, so Adam looks to be a bit more casual but yet fierce. (if that is possible).

Adam’s hair and clothes remind me sort of like when he played Joshua in the 10 Commandments. Also the poncho is sort of a cute Fred Flinstone :) Adam looks sweet and cute and more feminine in his latest hair style. I’m not criticizing, just saying what he reminds me of :)

Nice little article from Shaun Proulx regarding Adam’s choices in “look”. Kinda appropro here :)

Adam’s hair and clothes remind me sort of like when he played Joshua in the 10 Commandments.

Exactly what I thought the first time I saw it…and I didn’t like that look either.

Peeps, I am really really trying to like the hair. I just can’t get past the fact that he looks like Michael Jackson to me. The hair is long and generally I love long hair on men, but Ron is right (and others have also said) that the proportions are off, the hair wears Adam. And it does hide his beautiful animated face. (shakes head)

Someone (Jojosie?) said that if the hair were somewhat lighter in color, and the makeup also, she would like it better. Maybe that’s it. A shade or two lighter would avoid the Michael Jackson pallor look, I’m down with a hippie vibe, but that ain’t this.

Can’t believe we are spending so much time analyzing and debating the look! The clothes are whatever…it is the Michael Jackson hair that I am having trouble with.

But it’s all good. Nice to have pix to look at and snippets of news. I’m on team acoustic WWFM for the grammys, don’t care what he wears, but hope that his gorgeous expressive face is more visible while he sings it.

LOVED this Adam quote from the MTV article – such class and professional savvy!

Even though Lambert has more “Idol” experience than the newbie judges, he didn’t have any advice to offer Lopez or Tyler as they take their seats on live television for the first time. In fact, he insisted he’d welcome pointers from the superstar critics anytime.

“I want advice from them,” Lambert smiled. “I will not give Steven Tyler or J. Lo any advice. That’s not my place.”

  • milwlovesadam

Kradam, that was yours truly about the lighter hair and makeup. If he tones down the hair, which it looks like he did tonight for the Elton John Afer event, it looks better.

I’m on team ponytail and acoustic WWFM with a hippy look overall for the Grammy’s.

But, gotta say, the all white is just gorgeous Ron!! Heavenly indeed. And, loved the all white suit for Feelin’ Good on Idol.

  • kradamour

I think he will do something extraordinary for the Grammys. Something totally classy and sophisticated.

But mils I would enjoy the look you described for another TV appearance. I do love that gauzy white peasant shirt, and you know that it is still somewhere in his closet LOL!
