    Looking good this week!

Last week we saw that the low ratings in the first half hour hurt the contestants who performed there. This week that would be Jessica, Skylar and Josh.

Jessica and Josh arguably had their best performances in the last hour though. So I think if anyone would take a hit, it would be Skylar, whose best performance happened in the first half hour.

if anyone would take a hit, it would be Skylar, whose best performance happened in the first half hour.

I agree.  I wouldn’t be surprised to see her land in the B3 tonight because of the lower numbers earlier in the show.

My guess is the more devoted Idol fans watch all two hours, and it’s the more devoted fans that vote. If you don’t care enough to watch the whole show, why should you care enough to vote?

And if you’re a truly devoted fan of one of the Idolettes in particular, you’re not going to turn on late and possibly miss their performance.

So my guess is lower ratings at the start of the show won’t necessarily have a negative effect on the earlier performers.

Normally I would agree but I suspect the contest is really tight right now, and every little bit helps. The casual vote is probably very very important at the moment.
