So, I discovered today that I DO have the Fox Reality channel after all, so I already watched these. They are love.

Ok, I think I just fell a little bit in love with Cook, he seems like a really fun guy! A total character.

god, i want to listen to dcook’s stupid jokes FOREVER. the “hey archie!!” as he pops through the door in sassy pose and the part where he hits the big scary dude and runs away are my favorites.

i think it’s so funny that brooke’s a blaker girl, since she’s so pure and he’s so…not. hee.

Funny what a little backstage peek of these kids does to us. Love their personalities. Cook in particular! I don’t see him that way on stage at all, but off stage he appears to be a pretty great guy to be around! Enjoyed them all.

Duke- Damn warn a person before you say stuff like that!!!I think I just wet myself laughing.

What I mean is, I don’t see Cook’s humor on stage. I really like what I saw in that clip!

DA isn’t sure what or where he is and hasn’t a clue where to go. He exists for today. stammer, stutter.

I think he might be related to Paula.

I think DA has been a pushed kid his whole life. In a way, I feel sorry for him. Parents are supposed to be supportive and nuturing, not pushy, over expectant and badgering.

I see the look in DAs eyes. I have seen that look in many troubled kids, when I was a Prosecutor, so it is more than Ms Judd that leads me to this conclusion.

I think little D came across as quite a sweet kid. Awkward and vulnerable. He reminds me of a child beauty pageant star, a child being pushed to play an adult role which they can pull off on stage but leaves them a fish out of water in real life. Someone said he doesn’t seem to know where he is and I got that vibe too. Like he is waiting for someone to cue him. I found him endearing tho, and a little sad.

Didn’t someone who worked with him on star search have a gripe about his dad? Thought I read that somewhere.

MrRJ, thanks for your input on Archuleta. I totally concur with what you said. He should be allowed to be a normal teenager, instead, he’s drug to auditions to perform. And, according to what I read in the article about the top 5, and, their song choices, Daddy dearest, is every bit the stage dad he claims to not be. He’s probably driving everyone nuts. David just stands there and does whatever his dad tells him. I’m sure he has some choice in some things, but, in the end, daddy will make the decisions for him. He could be AI’s worst nightmare.

I’ve raised 3 boys,and, I certainly have nurtured them to be all they can be, supported them in what they wanted to do, but, never pushed them into something I thought they should be.

I just feel so sad for David A. He’s a kid, being pushed into an adult world he’s not ready for. Hey dad, here’s a novel idea. Take your son fishing, for a walk or a hike. Get dirt bikes, whatever. Let that kid have a normal life, or one of these days, you’re gonna be sorry.

I’ll just say that every season someone’s favorite gets criticised and I’ve learned from experience that it’s better to try to avoid those posts even though it’s hard as a fan when you feel they’re being trampled on. I do believe that anyone on a reality show is fair game even if I don’t always like it. It would be a boring place if we all agreed or only said good things imo. :smile1_tb:

Those clips are so great. I got a big kick out of Brooke’s note writing.. Everything is so BIG, like the people around her a 1/2 blind or something. She must have used up an awful lot of paper.

Cookie’s stupid pirate joke? Love the silly. He’s so different off stage, it’s striking. I love his serious rocker dude personna, but I also like what a good sport he is soaking up the group numbers and just giving in and having fun. And, well, I love that he seems to love his Mom.

Poor Jason’s getting all beat up everywhere I’m reading. Hopefully his fans will rally back — although top 4 is certainly nothing to sneer at.

Anyway, I’ve been pulling for Archie all season because he genuinely touched my heart (as opposed to other things, ahem…), but I’m probably more than OK if he doesn’t win. Mostly because he has not consistently performed close to what I see as his potential, but also because I truly feel that Cook and (OMG, I don’t believe I’m saying this…) Syesha, have actually been stronger in the competition. Jason has made some brilliant song choices, and some find him dreamy, but….I’ll quit there.

I will find DC a perfectly acceptable winner, should that be the outcome. Syesha, should she by some miracle slide under the radar all the way to the win, would surprise me, but I won’t be mad. Jason, well, I guess that will demonstrate the American dream made real, but seriously, I think TPTB will treat him with exactly the same respect afforded Taylor and I wouldn’t blame them for doing so.

I’m not going to say I’m bored with Archie because I find pleasure in some aspect of every performance he’s given. (Except “We Can Work it Out”, which was like watching somebody take a tumble down the stairs with their good clothes on.)

I do hope that that Dadchuleta, if he’s as bad as they say, gets out of that kid’s professional life with a quickness. One can only hope Archie will go off to college or do his missionary commitment and start to separate and establish himself as an adult artist in his own right. I really want to see how he turns out in four or five years.

It’s fun to call him robotic, I’m sure (I had a field day with Underwood in this regard) but what I see is a kid who is probably genuinely sweet and shy, but who was raised old school, and is probably somewhat repressed. And, so ends my armchair psychology expert analysis for the morning.

Nomi = I agree with 90% of your post. I still like Archie’s voice more than the others but his song choices and the Dad have affected my interest in him. Actually, his love for the divas gives me hope that post Idol and in a few years, he might put out some good r&B. But he may go the Christian music route. I have no idea..

David Cook is a perfectly respectable winner. He has also has the best shot of selling the platinum albums you need to not be labeled a failure after you win this thing. I won’t be buying his album though, just not my thang.

That stupid pirate joke is making me laugh way too hard. Between that and the joke Michael said that time on AI Extra about watching paint dry I’m tryimg to imagine the two of them on tour driving everyone crazy with bad jokes.

Yeah, I do think Cookie has played the game best, and deserves the win. I wouldn’t mind Archie either, though he’s not may favorite. I think even though he can be called boring, he has delivered consistently good vocals. Syesha doesn’t deserve the win to me (took her too long to hit her stride, IMO), but she could go as high as 3rd – maybe even 2nd – and I wouldn’t be mad. Ditto Jason.

Now, Back OT – THIS is the kind of stuff they should play at the hour long results shows, instead of the stupid Q&A session. They were all so cute in those videos, and you get a sense of their actual personalities.

I share that over-my-shoulder peeve with Syesha, too – particularly when it’s my boss, and he’s hindering me from getting my “blog fix” for the day.

I think TPTB will treat him with exactly the same respect afforded Taylor and I wouldnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t blame them for doing so.

I disagree- if Jason wins America’s votes (like Taylor did) i believe TPTB should do everything with their power to promote them (unlike they did with Taylor).
Otherwise the show loses credibility (as it has since they failed to promote Taylor as the winner)
