YIKES!  Something tells me that Duets won’t be back for a 2nd season.

Well the largest city in the state of WI was not able to view this show due to Time Warner fighting with our local channel.   TW has actually dropped the local ABC channel.   That impacts about a million people.

That is exactly what I was thinking! Our ABC is gone, so I saw the finale, soundless, at the gym. I am sure ABC won’t think of that…or maybe? To be honest, I thought it was a good show starting at the ‘Standards’ week. I thought that was amazing show. That is also the last one I saw, so I don’t know if it continued that way.

One thing my family and I were talking about, is that for really talented superstars, they did a pretty awful job of picking their amateurs. I didn’t think any had great voices or personalities. J. Rome and John were pretty good, but both were very cheesy. I don’t think any of them would make it past the first rounds of Hollywood on Idol, but most probably wouldn’t even make it to the judges.

Unless a quarter or more of the viewers reside in that single city, I seriously doubt it would have greatly impacted the ratings.  I think you’d find more blame with the show failing to connect with people, and plain old viewer fatigue.

I tried to watch it, but I found my mind wandering every time I put it on.  I love Kelly, but that show couldn’t hold my interest.

I think I may have watched half of one show. I just couldn’t get interested. CBS got all my viewing last night.

Its not that the judges are not good at picking their amateurs, but they didnot had an open audition in a large scales like Idol, the Voice and The X factor so the picking is slim. They had to choose the best from what they got.

If they make big open auditions like others, maybe they will had better singers specially Robin Thicke.

Maybe what happened is that they kept changing the day and time of the show. I probably would have watched, but I was out, and I didn’t realize it was going to be on Thursday.

Though, maybe that just means it wasn’t memorable enough to me.

Ouchie, at least this opens up Kelly’s schedule to maybe be an Idol judge? :)

I think it was clear from this show’s debut that pretty much no one was interested. And I think the ratings dropped pretty much every week. Sooner or later, people are going to get tired of all these different singing shows on t.v., and I think that Duets, along with The Sing-Off, are simply the first victims in the ratings war. I wouldn’t be surprised to see most of these shows get cancelled in the next few years.

The finale was so lame no excitement generated at all.

I just keep imaging Lionel Richie he’s kicking up his feet saying “wow, I look like a genius for bailing before the show started”.

I feel bad for Kelly that her show failed. I watched the first episode or most of it just to see what was up. But I bailed on it I was always iffy on a show about duets and it just didn’t work. It’s fine for like a wow moment having contestants sing w/ the mentor but I like to focus on the new talent. And what if i’m not w/ the blend of voices. Anyway I didn’t like the set up of the show and wasn’t really feeling the talent that was picked so I didn’t watch anymore. I would just check out the ratings every once in a while b/c i’m nosey or it’s like gawking at a car wreck.

Oh well she’ll just have to console herself w/ her awesome singles

You know me, I am easy to pleased.  I enjoyed the show and the premise.  They had good mentors and I liked half of the contestants.  I watched every show and taped the Finale.  Hubby enjoyed Kelly and Jennifer.  Indeed, Lionel made the right decision.  I wonder if he’d like to be a judge on IDOL?

Love Kelly but feel the show did not help her a bit.  Jennifer and John almost always outsang her.  She often sounded screechy/shouty.  The judging was really lame.  The outcome was a forgone conclusion. We were loyal throughout but will not miss it next year.

Well Ms. Clarkson, you should be receiving a call from Fox soon.

I love Kelly, but thought the show was bad.  I only watched it once, I think.

I still like the show despite the ratings. Most shows are struggling giving the choices viewers now have due to cable and the internet. Viewers have so many choices on cable now that they do not need to watch just the prime time network shows.
