Pia Toscano Performance – Album Will Be Out in January

Season 10 Idol, Pia Toscano, recently re-united with her old band, Current Affair and performed with one of her favorite singers, Richie Santa.

Check out clips of her performances below. And at the end of the video, Pia mentions that her debut album will come out in January.

    Um…Adele is incredible. Best voice in the industry today, but I don’t think Pia should be learning technique from her considering Adele just went into surgery for a hemorraging vocal cord. Pia also has much better vocal technique than Haley, and comparing their stage presence is comparing apples to oranges. They have totally different styles. Pia is fine the way she is, but haters will always be haters.

    She just needs to record an album very Celine Dion-esque… AC-friendly light pop with a few power ballads thrown in. “This Time” tries too hard to sound young and current and ends up being full of cliches and misusing her vocal strengths.

    You haven’t been around long.  I was one of Pia’s biggest fans.  I wanted her to win AI and I still think she had the potential to do it but she didn’t learn from her experiences (too many ballads, didn’t work the stage, boring outfits, couldn’t move on stage in heels, etc.)  She has a beautiful middle register but she didn’t emphasize that quality in her performances.  My criticisms are to be constuctive.  I wish her the best but she has got to improve and grow.

    Oh by the way I did’t say anything about Pia learning from Haley’s vocal technique.  I said she should learn from Halsy’s ability to work the stage and let her body show the emotion of the song.

    Thanks for the video.  Absolutely love Pia’s voice, her looks, her warm personality.  I even like her dress.  Can’t wait for her album to come out.  Thanks for the background on the event Halo.  I love listening to her and when I get lucky see her.  Gorgeous girl.

    Thanks Rocki- this event was truly a labor of love for Pia, and the story behind it is incredibly poignant, so I felt that MJ’s readers would like to know some more about it. I was actually supposed to attend but it was $250/person- a bit too rich for my blood (although it sold out quickly in spite of the price).

    Jan is not really a favourable time to release the debut album.

    Still, I wish Pia good luck in preparing a good debut album that suits her styles more than “This Time”. With a couple of months left, hope she can learn to improve her stage present, let loose a little bit and be more comfortable on stage.

    No worries. Pia has great mentors in the industry like Rodney Jerkins, Rock Mafia. And if she were to look to another Idol, I would say Carrie Underwood, who was often criticized for being stiff on stage.  But that hasn’t stopped her from being the best selling Idol of all time.

    I don’t know what the money dance is. I do love this video, though.  I love old school Italian places. 

    I agree that Pia’s voice suffers when she tries to belt high notes. I’m not really a fan, but this video makes her seem somewhat likeable.  Helps erase the whole showmance thingie with Ballas. That being said, I can’t help but wonder if that bind item was true!  LOL.

    Oh, Dishwalla, Carrie Underwood has a waaaay better voice and she is country.  A whole different ballgame. I would say Pia is a poor man’s Kat McPhee.  Kat didn’t cut it as pop diva and neither will Pia.    Kat has a career though, so hopefully so will Pia.

    And I don’t think ANY of Carrie’s singles sold less than 100K much less the first ones out of the gate.

    Jeremy, is not a “haters will be haters” deal, nobody is hating. She needs to improve and come a long way yet. I’m sorry to say she is not fine the way she is, she is lacking a lot of things. She doesn’t have a better vocal technique than Haley either.

    Ill take all bets on that. I have a lot of Pia’s original stuff and its killer. A few of them would be #1 Hits no doubt in my mind! From what Ive heard from one of her producers hes never heard an album thats as good as this one is. Get ready for one hell of a year for Pia. I think late Febuary or early March will give her plenty of time to get a few number 1′s and I see Grammy’s in her future. And about her personality, I think anyone who doesnt think she has that will be very surprised. I cant wait till it comes out I’ll be right in line.

      Well Ray its almost June and still  not album. Love her single. Listen
    to it every day. I saw a mention that it is now supposed to release in
    the summer this year. Does anyone know why it keeps getting pushed back.
    Is she having trouble or is it an Interscope thing?
