Ryan Seacrest debuted the new song from Paul McDonald and his wife, Twilight star, Nikki Reed on his KIIS FM radio show this morning.

The duo wrote “Now That I Found You” together, with Paul writing the melody and Nikki penning the lyrics. Recorded just two days ago, the couple hit the studio with producer Andre Harris, an industry vet who has worked with everyone from Michael Jackson to Mariah Carey to Usher.

“Now That I Found You” is set to hit iTunes this week.

Listen below. What do you think?  It’s pleasant, but sounds like a song that would end up as a bonus track on an album–kind of a throwaway.

” To be honest, I don’t think that this song would have debuted on Ryan’s show if Nikki weren’t a part of it.”

Them that’s got shall get, as they say.

I think it’s more cute than great.

I like Paul’s voice (actually he was my first favourite during Hollywood, till others took over), but I don’t think his and Nikki’s voice mesh very well.

it’s sweet. i like Paul recording voice

I like Paul and love his voice, but this song is far from his best work.  I can’t see this taking off.

If you like the vibe of this song, check out “Like You Love Me Then,” the duet Paul did with Kendra Chantelle. Now that’s an equal match on a beautifully penned song.

    Really, Paul?

Looks like the “best evah season” *whooping cough* wins for the batch with the most horrible first post-AI singles…evah!

Cute story behind the song. But it isn’t something I would download. They are a cute couple though.

    Edit:
Oops, replied to the wrong posting…

This is really gorgeous, and these are actually two voices that complement each other.

I already thought their “Blackbird” during Hollywood week was magic.

  • callmecrazy

I love them more as a couple than a singing duo….and it sounds like they would have sang this to each other in bed rather than in a studio.  You can barely hear Nikki…dunno if that is a good thing.  Regardless I think they are one happy sweet couple…:)

  • sagi

I think it is very cute professing their love and happiness in song! :)

Duets are the thing right now – sweet lyrics & nicely done.   I think it’s cute with just a splash of her voice harmonizing here & there.   Paul does have the Rod Stewart sound & that’s alright with me!

I like the song, but it sounds a little unfinished, rough, like a concert track.  Ind of odd.

The chorus is nice.  I like the harmonies.

    That’s the good points.

On the bad side, it’s poorly recorded….and sounds like it was banged out in someone’s home recording studio, while sucking back a few beers.

    Ouch! Not so much!

    Yep…. I still don’t like Paul’s voice.  Don’t think I’ll try again.

Are you referring to  ThisTime? LMMD? ILYTB? babyitscold? lovemebad? well they aren’t the best. But overall, 5 of them?! singles already. thats pretty decent. still best season in my eyes. actually i really like babyitscold but thats cos i like jazz.
But i’m still hopeful for haley, paul and pia as their albums havent been released yet. really like georgia peaches. and i wish that higherthanheaven and outofsummertime would have been the singles for james and scotty.

  • Kylee

Its in the eye of the beholder. I think Georgia Peaches is awesome and I personally like TTWG. They all beat “Sweet serendipity” for sure.

  • dodon

lol I have to agree. But somehow Scotty made ILYTB work.
