I believe that Blake would not have been able to have his own X-mas special if it wasn’t for his exposure on the Voice. Interestingly he did not have any previous contestants that he mentored on his special, but he had Idol’s Kelly Clarkson.

Kelly is his co-coach on TVoice & he also has Xtina as a guest on an elaborate TVoice sketch.  What I love about Blake is how family-centred he is and all his guests are family.  He had his mum, wife, Reba (his mentor), Kelly (Reba’s future step daughter-in-law).  I guess Xtina is pretty close to him.

He had Xenia sing with him on his Christmas album. There actually was one of his people from The Voice on the show with him, Gwen Sebastian.  She’s his background vocalist that goes out on the road with him and she’s plugging away doing her own thing.

Having Kelly on the show had nothing to do with any of the singing competitions, she’s practically adopted family to him.  All the people he had on the show are like family to him.
