I love, love, Kelly’s voice, I like her as a person, or what I know of her –  – but this is a first – I actually like a single she’s doing! Kinda surprised. In a good way.

I know we’ve heard this phrase millions of times…”so and so can sing the phone book”.  Well, that fits Kelly perfectly.  She looked stunning and gave and a fantastic performance!

One of the good songs from her album. Good job, Kelly!

    Beautiful performance.

I don’t have the link to confirm this myself but maria4hitz tweeted that Dark Side was not in the t1000 at Itunes pre-BBMAs but has shot all the way up to #256 already.

I loved this performance – there was a real vulnerability to it which you wouldn’t necessarily expect at a Vegas awards show but I appreciated Kelly’s courage in doing something more understated. I love, love, love her tone on this song. Thanks for the video MJ!

now THAT was a performance that didn’t have any bells and whistles, just a great singer singing a song!

Just saw the performance on the west coast – it was fantastic.  Kelly looked and sounded amazing as she always does on one of my favorites on her album.  I’m excited for this to hit radio!

  • Gwen

    Kellyyyyyyyyy! That’s my girl.

The song is a bit repetitive but her vocals and vulnerableness really sell the song.  The queens of idol are really bringing it tonight.

  • Whiskey

This was a beautiful performance and Kelly looked gorgeous. This is one of the songs I love on her album. The one and only Queen idol.

Beautiful and heart felt performance and beautiful woman. I loved it.

  • Joe Martinez

    The best!!! :D

Some might call it boring, but in a sea of over-the-topness sometimes an understated and classy performance stands out a little more.  Personally I loved it.  DS is one of my favorites on the album and she always nails it when singing it.  Loved the look tonight too.

Great job by the Idol ladies tonight! :tear

I love how Kelly sings softly when it’s called for in the song.  She’s not all booming notes and killer runs/riffs.  She understands the nuances of what she’s singing and just lets the lyrics and melody speak to the listener.  I don’t think Kelly feels the need to showboat the way other singers do and I enjoy that aspect of her as an artist.

I love that about Kelly as well randi. She doesn’t belt and yell for the sake of yelling. There is nuance and feeling to the way she sings. She sings the right way to get the story of the song across. The over the top yelling through a whole song that some singers do drives me nuts.

  • Emmy

Kelly is flawless. Not crazy about the song though, kind of boring.

My favorite Kelly song of all-time is “I Want You” off of All I Ever Wanted, just for that reason. She changed things up, made it almost like a pop doo-wop song, and then she turned it into a call and response song on her tour this time around.

I’m also seeing Kelly in August at Jones Beach in LI, and I can’t wait!

Also, for everyone who hasn’t listened or bought the entire “Stronger” album, it is WELL worth the listen and the purchase. Songs like “The Sun Will Rise” that are deeper into the track listing could be hits in their own rights.

Kelly Kelly Kelly!  Love you Love you Love you!
I love when she wears red.  I remember in season 1, she wore red ALOT and I remember commenting to my son on that.  Now, 2 of my fav performances since on TV – this one and Because of You on the Grammys a few years ago-both in the RED!

Meh. This song is pretty bad.

  • Gina

Kelly sounded great. I really like this song. I hope it gets huge.

I have always loved Kelley’s voice but this performance did not stand out for me. The lyrics were not clear in this performance and the song is just ok compared to other things I hear on radio right now.

  • Jon Glass

She sounded better on tour. Dark Side was the opening song. It was incredible!

She kind of mumbbled the first half of the song but she picked it up the second half.. Not the most interesting song from her ever but I still thought they should of stood up for her considering it was better than 95% of the other acts last night…

I’m actually seeing her on tour this summer, so I’m glad this is guaranteed to be highlighted in the set.  I really do like the melody, which I can’t say about every track on Stronger.

  • RockiDreams

I absolutely love this song.  Great performance and she looked fantastic.  She will always be the one and only American Idol to me.
