David Cook returns to Tulsa, touring behind This Loud Morning

“It was a little scary putting out a record that I spent a year and a half working on, especially in a climate where everyone is putting out music in two months, ” Cook said.
On Fire.

Following the new disc’s June release, a big tour announcement was expected. The summer came and went with nothing. Finally a fall tour with Gavin DeGraw and Carolina Liar was announced and Cook is back on the road, where he feels comfortable. When asked about the delay, Cook said “This record presented a real challenge — just implementing the ideas and meanings that came through in the songs. And that also extended to putting together the proper tour. When the opportunity to tour with Gavin came along, it just seemed to fit. He’s a great guy and a great musician and I want to go out with artists that I want to see as well.”

“I’m really jazzed to go out with Carolina Liar, ” he continued. “I met Chad (Wolf, Carolina Liar’s lead singer) in Sweden. We went bar hopping on Stockholm and really hit it off, so I’m really looking forward to touring with his band.”

DDP released a statement today asserting that it “extends apologies to Fantasia Barrino for the inaccurate, non-factual and disparaging statements of Ms. Barrino’s reputation, character and image.”

The Post quoted a man named Adrian Taylor, who said that using Fantasia in the movie could hurt Mahalia’s reputation and legacy. However DDP has distanced itself from his accusations.

“The comments made in the article by financing broker Adrian Taylor, were not authorized, approved or condoned by the producers of DDP, ” the company said in a statement. “The information and comments expressed within this article regarding the project were solely those of Adrian Taylor. ”

NL Interview: Lauren Alaina Answers Fan Questions

After successfully (and hilariously) tackling our 12 Random Questions interview last week, American Idol season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina stuck around a bit longer to answer some of the fan questions we received on Twitter. The questions ranged from which song on her newly-released album, Wildflower, is her favorite, to how her guitar lessons are going, to which charitable organization she’d love to become involved with. And just as she did with our first Q&A, she answered the questions with charm and a bit of humor.

Check out our short but sweet interview with Lauren where she answers your questions below:

‘X Factor’ has been a ‘thrill ride’ for Temecula’s Brewer Boys

“It’s been a thrill ride since the very beginning. I didn’t think we were really going to get that far, ” 14-year-old singer and mandolin player Nathan Brewer said Wednesday, pausing, “at first.”

Just how far the brothers get is still in question. Unable to talk about certain aspects of the show, such as if there will be eliminations on tonight’s episode, both Nathan and 17-year-old vocalist and guitarist Justin Brewer said it has yielded numerous positives no matter how far they get.
