DWTS Dancing with the Stars 23 Key Art

Dancing with the Stars – 1st Result Show

Tonight, after two weeks of competition, we bid farewell to the first couple on Dancing with the Stars. All thirteen pairings were able to dance twice for viewer votes and judges scores. Twelve of them actually improved in scores from week one, with only James & Sharna receiving lower scores from our judges. But will any of that actually matter all that much?

I don’t believe so. Week two was fairly similar to week one. The stand out couples that scored high continued to do so, while those lingering at the bottom were not really able to change their fortunes. The only couple who really moved up a whole lot was Terra & Sasha, gaining six points. So who do you guys think will be heading home tonight?

As of this writing, 52% of you believe Rick & Emma are out with 29% going to Jake & Jenna. I have to agree that one of those two are toast. For Rick & Emma, you have a weak dancer but someone who fits more into the DWTS demographic and could receive his share of votes. Jake & Jenna though have had two weeks of lackluster routines and I don’t think Jake has enough support from those that would vote for him to escape elimination. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Amber & Maks or Maureen & Artem in jeopardy tonight. With the exception of those four couples, I think everyone else will be called safe to dance another week. My final prediction is that Jake & Jenna are eliminated.

Tonight’s 2-hour live result show will be packed with recaps of the last two weeks, behind the scenes footage, some surprises, performances, and of course, it will all conclude with the dreaded first elimination of the season. This same format will continue next week with a shorter (one hour) performance show on Monday due to the Presidential debate, followed by a two hour result show on Tuesday. And here we go…

Segment 1
We begin with Tom and Erin discussing what we can look forward to tonight. Len is very impressed with the standard of the competition thus far. Time to go behind the scenes with recaps of James and Calvin’s performances. These recaps include extra footage we didn’t get the opportunity to see during the original shows. Backstage, Calvin was so excited to see Jaleel last night. James knows he didn’t come in with the highest profile but he hopes people want to see more of him.

Segment 2
Time to go back to look at weeks one and two for Terra and Amber. We see some footage of Sasha getting sassy with Terra in rehearsal when she was on her phone. Terra though, got her revenge. And now we watch a recap for Rick.

Segment 3
Members of our troupe welcome us back with a cha-cha-cha. Time to get a second look at Maureen. Bruno is hysterical in these packages. He talks so much at the judges table during the dances. I wonder if any of the other judges ever tell him to shush. LOL. Meanwhile, these recaps show just how much the pros talk to their partners during the dances to help them out. It really is a team effort. And now, a look at Jake and Marilu.

Segment 4
Looks like Rick was able to copy Vanilla Ice’s signature hand sign. A look back at Babyface and Jana. Jana’s grandmother was unsure if Tom and Erin like one another. They say they do. Haha. Jana says Gleb is turning her into an athlete, so she will get through the show even with the pain. And now we get to see Gleb as an underwear model but boo, the show covers up the underwear with a mirror ball graphic. Unfair! Bruno is extremely excited. Time to look back at Vanilla.

Segment 5
Another troupe routine, showing us the jive. Now back to recaps. Ryan’s footage is up next. Anyone want to wager we are going to hear all about the protesters again? And yep, we do. With even more never before seen footage. Footage of Laurie now. The show is concentrating on how what happened to Ryan affected Laurie’s mindset before she danced. And with that, we have now seen the recaps for everyone.

Segment 6
A very cool pro/troupe dance opens up our second hour. Lots of flashy colors and vigorous dancing. That fun filled routine was choreographed by Mandy Moore- because, of course it was. Finally, time for some results… – Watch the Performance VIDEO

The first couple safe is… Laurie & Val.
The next safe couple is… Rick & Emma

So, not even in jeopardy for Rick, huh? Interesting. Is it legit? Is it the show playing with the whole jeopardy thing? Who knows.

A bit of a filler now. Time to look at why the male celebrities wanted to do the show and what their goals are.

Segment 7
Julianne feels as though Laurie being safe was obvious. But she thinks Rick being safe shows what America thinks. She thinks Rick needs to thank Emma for that. Time for some more results…

The next couple who is safe is… Marilu & Derek

IN JEOPARDY – Maureen & Artem

Babyface & Allison are SAFE!

Ryan & Cheryl are in jeopardy.

I want to go out on a limb and say I think the producers placed Ryan in jeopardy to get some more votes for him next week. That’s just my little conspiracy thinking brain talking. If he is the one eliminated tonight, I was obviously wrong. And now, we heard why the male celebs are doing the show, so let’s hear from the ladies.

Segment 8
Charlie Puth is on hand to perform his song “We Don’t Talk Anymore” as Sharna and Val dance. Daya was also on hand to help with that song since Selena Gomez is the original artist who sings with Charlie on that tune. Backstage, James was late to chat with Erin because he was busy watching hockey. He says his fellow racers are asking him how difficult the show is. Calvin meanwhile, notes that there is so much detail that goes into the show. Vanilla Ice is digging the show and loves how over the top it is. He is having a blast. Jake admits that he feels some relief that last night is over. Jenna though, is nervous about tonight. – Watch the Performance VIDEO

More results…

The next couple safe is… Calvin & Lindsay.
Also safe are… Vanilla Ice & Witney
And also safe to dance on will be… James & Sharna

Jake & Jenna are in jeopardy.

Segment 9
Daya is back to perform as the troupe dance. Derek, Maks, and Cheryl (in other words, our pros who have been gone for a while) are set to dance together. Umm, I get these three are very popular but pros like Gleb and Emma are back after an absence too! Artem, Allison, and Jenna join the three returnees to dance. A very cool, sleek, and sexy argentine tango is on display here. It also has some paso elements. Nice! Tom walks over to chat with them. Derek talks about how much love they get when they go on tour outside of Los Angeles. Cheryl talks about her time in Japan. Maks mentions that the show is an amazing platform. – Watch the Performance VIDEO

Segment 10
A jazz routine, brought to us by the troupe. Damn this result show is long. LOL. Gavin DeGraw is back to perform “She Sets The City On Fire.” Gavin and his hats :) The troupe are certainly working for their money tonight. Backstage, talk with the folks in jeopardy. Ryan is very happy with the love and support he has received and he doesn’t want to leave.

Let’s have some more results…
The next couple safe is… Terra & Sasha
Amber & Maks are… in jeopardy
Jana & Gleb are safe.

Up next…the final result. Also of note, Erin just said next week’s one hour performance show (because of the debate) will be a face-off type competition. I’m sure more details about that will come out as the week progresses.

Segment 11
And now, time for this marathon result show comes to a close with the final result of the evening.

The next couple safe is… Maureen & Artem.
Joining them, also safe, are… Amber & Maks

Note that Tom did NOT say this is the actual bottom two but one of these couples does indeed have the lowest combined score. That couple…

the first couple exiting the show this season is…

Jake & Jenna

Jake says he had a blast and learning from Jenna was the opportunity of a lifetime. The pair heads to the center of the ballroom as Tom and Erin give us some information about next week’s face-off.

We will see pairs dance (example- Amber & Maks Vs. Laurie & Val) and the winners from each pairing will be IMMUNE from elimination on the Tuesday night result show. That should be interesting.

Have a great week you guys. :D
