Big Brother 15: Cast Member GinaMarie FIRED From Job over RACISM!

Another one bites the dust! Although fans aren’t happy with the way CBS has addressed the racist houseguests this seasons on Big Brother so far, employers are doing something about it. Earlier today, cast member Aaryn Gries who made the “Rice” comment towards Big Brother’s sole Asian houseguest, lost her modeling contract. Now, it has been announced that GinaMarie Zimmerman who made racial comments towards African-Americans and people of color has lost her job as a pageant coordinator.

TMZ Reports:

East Coast USA Pageant, Inc. is cutting ties with the 32-year-old pageant coordinator … claiming they were shocked GZ could “display such acts of hate and racism.”

As we previously reported, GinaMarie referred to welfare as “n**ger insurance” … and the comments were captured on “Big Brother’s” uncensored live Internet feed.

East Coast USA says GinaMarie has been an employee for 5 years — but insist, “We have never known this side of GinaMarie or have ever witnessed such acts of racism in the past.”

The Big Brother contestants are cut off the from outside world, so Aaryn and Gina won’t learn about these repercussions until they exit the house either via eviction, or as the crowned winner. If they last until jury, they won’t find out until the end of the season.
KARMA will always find a way.

Make sure you come back here tonight @ 8pm where I’ll be Live blogging the first Eviction of the season. Sad to say that neither of these LOVELY ladies are on the block.

Do any of these people know they’re losing their contracts and jobs? (Not a little thing!)

  • tripp_ncwy

As Cory stated they won’t know the backlash of their words unless they are evicted prior to the jury or until after the finale. I don’t watch the feed but I have a problem with no one else in the house calling them out inside the house for the statements they have made.

  • Cory Patrick

    NOPE, not at all.

  • Cory Patrick

Nobody knows about the statements except the girls themselves, and one other cast member Kaitlin who was included in the racists bashing although she didn’t make an actual comment.

BB rarely tells contestants anything from the outside world unless it’s very important. For example, they did tell the contestants in the house at the time that 9/11 happened. One of the contestants that year had a family member working in the World Trade Center so they had to be informed.

BB will not inform these 2 contestants that have lost jobs/contracts until they are evicted & go back in to the outside world. However, it is possible to be disqualified on the show. They would need to be a danger to the contestants.

  • wordnerdarchie

They’re really quite stupid, aren’t they? As are thousands of people on twitter who make derogatory comments about other people connected to their jobs, like nurses about their patients. You’d think people would be more conscious of the consequences.

  • Cory Patrick

I honestly feel like they don’t really fully grasp that they are being watched 24/7 on the Live feeds.

  • ellen8

Man, imagine walking out of the BB house to find out your 5 year career has gone down the drain. I hope Julie tells GinaMarie and Aaryn as soon as they sit down on the couch with her !!

  • Cory Patrick

As much as I would enjoy their reaction, it would probably be in private or they would find out whenever they got in contact with family members (not even by production). Sometimes even after being evicted pre-jury houseguests are kept still in sequester for a short amount of time. They aren’t always released back into the world right away after being evicted.

I’m (almost) tempted to watch this show just to see the arrogance on display and the reactions once they found out they got the boot by their employers.

I was struck by this comment about her former employer in the TMZ piece: “A rep for the organization tells us they are especially upset because
they encouraged their pageant girls to watch GinaMarie on the show and
vote for her … thinking she would be a role model.”

They must have been mortified. No wonder they canned her. Seems unlikely that she would have been unaware that they’d do this …. I guess she didn’t realize what all those cameras and microphones are for.

  • No Thanks

You would think that girl would know better. She works for a company where image is a huge part of the job. How incredibly stupid.

  • usedtobelucy

No kidding. I’m amazed that she wouldn’t think of that.

  • Miz

I think they get to talk to the show psych to help them return to the real world when they exit. I also think they are available to them for a period of time afterwards.

  • Jake W.

I don’t watch this show, but I will certainly tune in at the end when they find out the consequences of their actions.

  • Jake W.

You would think these people would behave with all of those cameras and mics on them.

  • hcpoirot

It 100% prove these two girls are stupid and racist and the only reason they get cast in BB are because they are hot.

  • Karen C

Oddly enough, I’m almost wondering if someone is encouraging this, maybe even one of the producers, so the show could be controversal, especially with the Paula Deen thing. It is likely the contestants don’t even know what is going on with that.
It is just a little suspicious to me that this has happened at a time when racism is such an issue, when it hasn’t happened before in all the years of the show.

  • Incipit

Karen C , wouldn’t surprise me in the least. The producers picked the cast, set up the structure for the show, and issue those very lame statements about their behavior. We are supposed to believe their hands are clean? I don’t think so.

They also wouldn’t care in the least if people lost their jobs over this, as long as the buzz increased the audience.

As usual with all these shows in the last few years, the recaps and the comments here are more interesting than the manipulated shows could hope to be – IMO.

I still wonder whether they didn’t get cast because they’re hot *and* because they’re stupid, bigoted loudmouths. I know the general view seems to be that CBS didn’t know what jerks they were before this began, but I really wonder about that.

The is not CBS”s first time at the rodeo, and they obviously know that any show in its 15th go-round is losing its spark and audience, inevitably, even if it’s got the most audience appeal of any show ever created.

It just seems unlikely to me that they wouldn’t have cast some people that they expected to say a lot of controversial crap that they could edit out of the main show — for the more traditional, probably somewhat older and much younger network audience who come in contact with the show only as it airs — but leave in the web version where it might attract some different groups of viewers, and create drama and buzz.

They would *never* have had the drama and buzz that they’ve got now if they hadn’t had the hot beautiful women talking bigoted dumb-ass smack behind the scenes. And it’s drama and buzz that they want, clearly, whether they would publicly admit it or not.

I would be less suspicious of this if it were guys or less attractive women doing this. But having these women doing it is just such a perfect attention grabber, it’s really hard for me to imagine that it wasn’t something CBS intended, or at least hoped hard for.
