Allison Iraheta Debuts New Songs “Tonight” and “Love”

Allison Iraheta debuted brand new material at the KIIS FM’ Idol viewing party at downtown L.A.’s Regal Cinema Wednesday night. Reality Rock’s Lyndsey Parker was there and captured the performances on video.

The new songs, “Tonight” and “Love” are a little darker and a lot more grown up than the songs on the debut, Just Like You, released after her Season 8 Idol run in 2009.

Check out both tunes below

Tonight

Love

I love these new songs. She is definitely finding her style and going with it. This next record is going to be such a hit.

  • ppwars

Love these new songs and the new look! Maybe someone can post the link to “Creep” that she killed at her St. Pete performance.

  • PRMari

I love them both. I had the chance to meet Allison on Sunday at the Taste of Pinellas festival, she was so gracious and so thankful for fans who where there for her. She also told us she’d be performing a new song and it was “Love”. If it sounds great acoustic, let me tell you, it sounds even better with a full band. It is a great rock track. Tim Stewart also played guitar for her on Sunday and he was really rocking.

Just this morning I was listening to “Tonight” and it really got to me, the emotion in her voice is out of this world.

I love both songs and I love her new look. I hope she gets to keep both Stewart and Immerman playing for her because the two guitars are a real asset.

She looks and sounds better than ever. I’m ready for whatever is next.

“Love” and “Tonight” are Amazing! I have been listening to these 2 songs nonstop since yesterday! I love them! I cannot wait to buy Allison’s 2nd album!

  • satchvai

I love “Love” not crazy about the other one but the hooks in the last one are killer. Go girl!

  • smeggingnuts

    Thank you smeggingnuts!

  • koshka

I saw these a few days ago, but quality wasn’t great and I thought they might be some kind of cover. At the time I was thinking.. why couldn’t she get this kind of material for her album. LOL

  • Incipit

These are much better suited to her voice and style than anything I heard on that Jive Album, IMO. I would lean to the second one, “Love”, but both are well performed.

She’s very comfortable with the audience interaction, as well.

    Wishing much good fortune!

Thanks for the link, she is so f-ing special. I love Allison. Her new songs are amazing! The girl can SANG!

  • Buffynut

I love Allison. I hope she does a small club in LA! She is still with 19 right? So happy they are giving her time to develop!
Ooo, I just noticed Tim Stewart is playing guitar for her! Cool!

  • Jablea

Sounding better and more like her personality. Hard to hear over the guitars a bit. I could understand most of the words but I still want her to work on diction more or maybe holding the mike different? For me at least it’s really important to hear each word.

  • CRB

Nice to see the red hair went away . . . finally. That audience couldn’t keep a beat with a metronome.

  • PRMari

Haha, good one. I’m pretty sure these are Allison penned songs BTW

Ooo, I just noticed Tim Stewart is playing guitar for her! Cool!

He’s played for her the last three times she’s had a live gig.

  • cowboysfan

Ugh! I don’t like her voice or style of singing at all. None of these sound like potential hit songs.

  • einthebox

I LOVE “Love” and “Tonight” as well! Such great songs and Allison’s voice is flawless. I am sooo stoked for this next album! I know it’s gonna be amazing!

  • Landmd

Love the new songs and her new look!!! She has grown so much since she was on idol!! Her voice keeps getting better and better!!! Looking forward to her new album!! Rock on!!!!

  • chrislongisland

One of my favorites who always flies under the radar – you go Allison!

  • http://twitter.com/cara_lee pj

I love her voice and the new look. I like the songs, too. Don’t see them on pop radio, but I don’t think that’s what she’s going for. Go Allie!

  • ppwars

I’ve just listened to each song several times. Gotta say Alli is impressive on all of them. “Creep”, to me, seems to show off her deep emotional connection with her material more than the others (if you can ignore the dancing dude version).

  • lucy

Great songs, Allison. Thank goodness she doesn’t feel she has to sing stupid top-40 hit stuff just because she’s a teenager. Now I just hope she can find a niche for her great musicality and thrive there. Her voice and her emotional connection to the material is fabulous, in my opinion.

  • LoveDaRocker

Coming out of this-blog-posting retirement to say that Allison looks and sounds amazing.
These are clearly not top-40 style songs (in these musically-challenged days at least), but they are all Allison. A win-win, if you ask me.

  • tinawina

Allison! The first song was good but that second one, Love, was awesome! :D

  • TwigLA

Allison sounds great in these. I’m hearing a definite Pink vibe and influence. I think that bodes well for radio play.

The first song, ‘Tonight’, sounds a bit too repetitive for me. The second, ‘Love’, is a head on hit in my opinion.

Such a honest approach: Allison is true to herself, and has chosen to do quality material instead of what the pop money oriented world wants (not that her 1st CD wasn’t awesome!). Maybe she won’t ignite the charts, but as long as she is happy and makes a decent living giving us these songs, we will be happy too!

    Good job little rocker girl.

  • Moria Polonius

I like both songs, but Love especially seems to have a killer hook. I’m humming “You must be crazy calling this love, calling this love” already. Allison sounds great.

  • vmac

    Disappointed…….I don’t like either song.

  • jordison

I hope she does a small club in LA!

Ditto for that. How she’s grown in the last couple years. Amazing. I wouldn’t mind sitting in on just a jam session either.

Both of these new songs are beautiful acoustic, but I can hardly wait to hear them, and the rest of her music, with a full band.

    Album now please.

  • gabriel oak

I’m really digging the older Allison. I actually prefer the first song.

  • PRMari

Her set on Sunday was great, some people uploaded some videos. In case anyone is interested in seeing some of that and how she now sounds with a full band.

    Holiday

    D is for dangerous

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tl3PyWxHhmc

This was the first the she performed that song live.

and a little bit of Sweet Dreams

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4TpZHpH7zQ

Both of these new songs are beautiful acoustic, but I can hardly wait to hear them, and the rest of her music, with a full band.

I can at least tell you that Love is even better, great track.

  • alli lurker

Allison sounds amazing!!! I love both of the songs, but I’m partial to the chorus on Tonight… love the lyrics.

It’s great to see her looking so happy and confident up there.

    Really, really loved Creep, too!!

  • Lauren88

Allison looks incredible. I am loving this new short, dark hair. The dress she had on was beautiful too.

I can at least tell you that Love is even better, great track.

Awesome! I too really want to hear it with the full band. I love when she does acoustic stuff, but it is harder to get the feel of the song when I have never heard the full band version. I can’t wait! Maybe something will pop up on youtube some day from the Pinellas concert or even better she does it again full band :)

    Really, really loved Creep, too!!

Me too! I have been listening to this on repeat today. It is just great to hear from her again. I am excited to see what else she does.

  • girlygirl

Of the two, I think I prefer “Love”. Given rock radio’s reluctance to play anyone connected to Idol, I think she’s gonna struggle to get airplay once she gets a new label deal and puts out this new music. But I’m still happy that she’s doing the music she loves and suits her far more than the teen pop Jive and 19 tried to make her do. Hope to get to see her perform her new stuff in concert sometime in the (hopefully near) future

I like these for Allison. Always makes me nervous though watching someone wear a long skirt like that with those very high heels, lol.

Hi there — Joining LoveDaRocker in coming out of posting (semi)retirement. So exciting to hear new stuff from Our Girl — the teenager who can sing circles around certain other teenagers ;-)

I love Love. This is just the kind of thing I’ve wanted her to do, something with a rough bluesy edge; and I can really hear it rocking with a full band. As a song, Tonight isn’t as impressive, but the bridge is cool and she sounds great, of course.

PRMari, thanks so much for posting those videos. D Is For Dangerous was a favorite of mine right from the start, so I was thrilled to hear that live version. So jealous that you got to meet her, but so glad that you got to meet her!

She did it to me again with that version of Creep — made me like a song I don’t like. I’ve always despised the Radiohead original, but wow — what she did with that vocal — jeez.

  • PRMari

I’ve always liked Creep, it’s the only Radiohead song I like but she definitely fixed it for me with her haunting vocals, very emotive. She’s an excellent live singer & just has a way to connect to music that always moves me.

  • Maryla

    I love Allison Iraheta voice
Great voice, but I need more rock
Allison should be making a movie
    She is so talented

  • Maryla

Is Allison still working for 19th Entertainment?
They should send Allison to perform on TV ( the Glee show, is a singing show for teens)
With a little training, she would be very good singing and a good performer.
I love Allison since she was performing on American Idol.
I was voting for her and Adam.
