Adam Lambert, Nile Rogers and Sam Sparrow, joined forces to perform “Shady”–the song the trio wrote together for Adam’s Trespassing album.

After, the trio tore into a fierce rendition of “Free Your Mind.”

The epic performance took place last night at the We Are Family Foundation Gala at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Besides performing, Adam received the organization’s Unity award for his charitable work.

    Shady is perfection! I watched before I slept in the wee hours, then I watched again sitting in the car, will watched again now! I’ve waited months for this performance and it lived up to expectations. Kudos all around. Niles is the coolest guy, I’ve been enjoying his music since I was a kid. A true musician.

    Shady is my favorite song on the album. Should have been a single imo.

    Co-signed. If they’d started with the dance singles from get, it might have even gotten there.

    But I hope a better video comes along, as this seemed like a very cool performance and I can’t get past the bass distortion.

    Let me count the ways!   We have been waiting forever for this hookup and it did not disappoint.   Adam is hitting his stride both vocally, fashion wise and in the gorgeous department.   How does he just get better every damn day?

    Grand, fun-filled concert – “Shady” is such a marvelous song – wonderful to hear with a truly great band.  Adam in great voice – enjoying it all so much – an amazing live singer – touched by fortune with grace and beauty.  So happy for him.

    Shady was amazing!  Never thought I”d see the day that all three of them would be together to perform it live!  It was a great collaboration and great to see Adam getting that honor.  Last I looked fans had raised $45,000 in the Adam-donate-my-birthday efforts too!

    I always thought Shady should have been the lead single.  Awesome song!!

    If Adam decides he wants a 2nd career Adam could definitely be a model. OMG the guy is gorgeous. 

    Adam sounded great and was so much fun to watch.  Such an awesome performer.

    I have loved Nile for a very long time.  So good to see him up there having such a good time.  His playing is the best.
