And aspiring singer Louisa Johnson took things back to basics as she visited her old primary school in Grays, Essex, on Monday alongside her mentor Rita Ora.

Hundreds of screaming schoolchildren waving homemade posters greeted the pair as they stepped off the ‘Battle Bus’ outside St Thomas of Canterbury School.

Arriving in their mentor Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s hometown, the Ghanian duo looked to be in high spirits following Sunday’s announcement that they were secured a place in the final three acts.

With One Direction preparing to take some time away from the band in March 2016, talk has turned to what each of the individual members will do during the hiatus.

Naturally, we’re all expecting four solo albums, but 1D’s Niall Horan told Digital Spy none of the guys have secured deals just yet.

“Currently there are no individual projects lined up,” he told us. “I haven’t really thought about that. I don’t have any songs lined up.

“Say if we were to make records individually, what would it sound like? It’s not going to sound like One Direction.”

She set up her own YouTube channel while still in school and her astonishing confidence on stage has been built up in a series of talent shows in Essex and beyond.
