Exclusive: One Direction’s new single: ‘Steal My Girl’ – First listen review
One Direction have little to worry about when it comes to their rivals trying to steal the boyband crown. Their upcoming album Four hit number one on 65 iTunes charts across the world two whole months before it’s even released, waiting to add to the 94 official chart-topping positions they’ve already achieved in their career so far.
However, if its lead single ‘Steal My Girl’ is anything to go by, the five-piece are a little vulnerable when it comes to potential love rivals. “She’s been my queen since we were sixteen/ We want the same things/ We dream the same dreams, alright?” Zayn warns on the opening line – and it’s the perfectly-quiffed crooner who takes centre stage for most of the track.
Co-written by Louis and Liam, along with Ed Drewett, Wayne Hector, Julian Bunetta and John Ryan (the ‘Best Song Ever’ dream team), ‘Steal My Girl’ begins with a jubilant Elton-meets-ABBA piano line, before it flits between the bouncy riff with added skittering electronics, and light bass guitar strums. It’s a minor departure from what we’ve come to expect from a One Direction lead single, but not so much that it would feel out of place at one of their sold-out shows.

Classic, natural, simple, crazy and upbeat. These are just a handful of words that One Direction’s Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson use to describe the pop group’s forthcoming album, Four.
“There’s a good balance,” Tomlinson tells Billboard backstage at the 2014 iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas. “It’s definitely our most different-sounding album. We’ve definitely tried to keep it different, really.”
1D recently announced that its next single “Steal My Girl,” a preview of November’s Four album, will be released in late September. But the group kept things strictly to the hits during its iHeartRadio Fest performance on Saturday (Sept. 20).

Since touring with One Direction and co-writing hits like Little Things, it’s hardly surprising Ed Sheeran has struck up a good relationship with the band.
The 23-year-old crooner was pictured partying up quite the storm with teen heartthrob Niall Horan following 1D’s energetic performance at iHeartRadio Music Festival on Saturday night.
Both dressed down in checkered shirts and black T-shirts, the two boys celebrated with famous friends at XS Nightclub inside the Wynn Hotel.

Last year Ed Sheeran said that he wouldn’t be writing anymore songs for One Direction for the time being.
But on Wednesday the 23-year-old British singer, who penned One Direction songs Moments and Little Things, explained the reason for the break was that he came under fire from his music label, Atlantic Records.
Ed told Nova’s Kent ‘Smallzy’ Small that he contributed one song to the mega popular boy band’s upcoming album Four, revealing that he wrote it in a Copenhagen restroom.

Like the rest of the band, Louis entered the competition with aspirations of fame as a singer in his own right, but after failing to make it through boot-camp found himself thrust into the purpose-built group by show creator Simon Cowell – who saw potential in the boys as a five-piece.
Speaking in candid new autobiography Who We Are, the 22-year-old admitted that learning to share the spotlight with Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan was a difficult process.

Liam Payne has come under fire after posing with a gun in a photo with the stars of US TV show Duck Dynasty.
The One Direction hitmaker reportedly visited the Robertson clan – whose patriarch Phil was previously slammed for his right-wing views – in Louisiana this week where they shot clay discs.
The 21-year-old is pictured grinning away next to his bodyguard Paddy, the Daily Mirror reported, in the same week that he was forced to strongly deny that leaked ‘gay’ photos were him.

The posh singer reportedly took to the stage to sing jazz standard Misty, only to forget her words and break down in tears in front of an audience of 5,000 at Wembley.
However, viewers on Saturday only saw her second audition in front of a different crowd, when she impressed the panel with Why Don’t You Do Right and sailed through to the next stage of the competition.
