The Voice 12 Blind Audition: Anatalia Villaranda “Runaway Baby” VIDEO

Sixteen year old Anatalia Villaranda has a BIG voice. Still, it took all four The Voice season 12 coaches to turn their chairs for the Temecula, California native.

But once they did, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Alicia Keys and Gwen Stefani fought fiercely for the young singer.

But before the panel went at it, they asked to bring Anatalia’s enthusiastic family on stage. After the hugging and crying ensued, Blake noted that she continued to blossom rather than wilt when the coaches didn’t turn immediately. “Too bad you don’t have any personality!” Blake quipped to the bubbly singer.

UPDATE: Anatlia competed in last year’s final American Idol season.

Anatalia’s mom was stage-mothery during the group round, but they didn’t mind, including Dalton Rapattoni (as noted above) Check out the performance by Chicken Noodle Soup. They tell the judges a long saga of how Anatalia’s group abandoned her and the other’s 3rd group member quit. (Anatalia complained that the group song pick wasn’t good for her range. They ditched her!) (It’s all coming back to me now!)

Anatalia made it to the American Idol 15 Top 51 Showcase, but was eliminated. She sang…Runaway Baby! Unseen…until she auditioned for The Voice.

“This is more than just a voice. This is an artist,” gushed Alicia. “Unafraid to express yourself. I would like you to look in your heart and see how important it is for you to be on my team. You’re amazing.”

Gwen related to the singer’s energy. She threw out a combo of the California/feminist card. “I’m at a point in my life where I got this opportunity to share it with somebody like you. I really feel passionate about you and your positivity. I would love to talk about how we can show your personality through fashion.” (No cow outfits though. Heh.)

Adam also used the California card, and added, “The greatness that you have is something you can’t teach. And if you have that, you’re just adding to this incredible raw ability.”

Then some actual crickets began chirping, and brand new opportunities arose for Blake to troll Adam. “The things that you are saying are so boring,” Blake joked. Adam admonished the audience, “Do not clap for that!” They do anyway. Adam followed up with one of his stock phrases, “I do believe you could win this entire thing!”

Which coach does Anatalia choose? Tune into the The Voice 12 premiere on Monday to find out.
