In a bid to salvage their ailing Thursday night line-up, NBC will schedule another hour-long episode of The Voice Battle rounds on Thursday, October 24 at 8/7c. The show will replace the cancelled Welcome to the Family and pre-empt Parks & Recreation.
The once mighty Thursday night Must See TV lineup has morphed into NO See TV for NBC. Parks & Rec will be preempted the next 3 weeks for The Voice and a Saturday Night Live holiday special.
10/24/2013 (08:00PM – 09:01PM) (Thursday) : THE BATTLES CONTINUE – THE COACHES ENLIST FELLOW ARTISTS CHER, ED SHEERAN, MIGUEL AND RYAN TEDDER TO PREPARE THEIR
ARTISTS FOR BATTLE – The “battle rounds” continue and the coaches enlist the help of the music industry’s top recording artists to offer their knowledge and skills as advisers. Adam Levine teams up with Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, Blake Shelton with Cher, CeeLo Green with Miguel and Christina Aguilera with Ed Sheeran. In this phase, the coaches pit two of their own team members against each other in a dueling duet. After the vocal face-off, each coach must choose which artist from their team is the strongest, and has the option of stealing losing artists from an opposing coach. Each coach has two steals during the battle rounds where their artists will proceed to the new knockout rounds. Carson Daly (“Last Call with Carson Daly”) hosts.
Before you know it, The network will pull a Dateline and run The Voice nearly every night of the week! Aren’t you looking forward to that? The problem with the strategy is that the show is heading into a less popular phase of the competition. So, good luck with that!
The Voice will also air it’s first LIVE results show on Thursday November 7 at 9/8c PM.
