Franklin to host national netball championship

FRANKLIN — Netball America and Nashville Kangaroos will host more than 20 teams from seven states at the USA National Netball Championships 7 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
Saturday at A-Game facility, 215 Gothic Court in Franklin.

The clash between the USA representative teams, the East Coast Jaguars vs West Coast Sharks will kick off the event. Netball fans and supporters are also in for a treat as Season 7 American Idol finalist Michael Johns will perform at the event.

Ryan Seacrest to Make Film Producing Debut with Reese Witherspoon (Exclusive)

Ryan Seacrest is producing his first film, a romantic comedy with co-producer Reese Witherspoon. The still untitled project, which will be produced by Ryan Seacrest Productions and Witherspoon’s Type A Films in association with Universal, will be written by Grey’s Anatomy scribe Krista Vernoff.

Seacrest is already a major producer for Universal parent’s television division, for which he produces E!’s Kardashian franchise and serves as host and managing editor of E! News.

If 13-year-old X Factor contestant Rachel Crow has her way, she won’t be doing another peppy pop song next week.

Asked after Wednesday’s show if she wanted to stick to mentor Simon Cowell’s youthful, upbeat music strategy should she survive Thursday’s elimination, Crow said: “Honest? Right now, if I do make it, no.” She sang a sassier version of the Waves’ “Sunshine” on Wednesday’s show, and last week, a mash-up of Justin Bieber’s “Baby” and The Supremes’ “Where Did Our Love Go.”
